Butterfly Wedding

Yet another card, from way back last year. That I failed to share with you guys. Nightmare.

I tried to match the invite up as closely to the invitation as I could - I thought it'd be a nice touch.

I love the minty green colour. I think I used up the last of that ribbon on this card - but it was so worth it! :) xx

Little Bruno

As a little break from Christmas, I thought I'd share a new baby card with you all.

It turns out, I thought I had posted this on my blog waaaay back. Like. Waaay back when I had made it.

Apparently not.

I really gotta get my photos more organised, so I actually know which ones I have shared with the world, and which ones I can post on my blog to fill in those blank days!

I used a pre-made Boofle topper which was perfect for a little boy. I used my Lawn Fawn alpha stamps to create a custom date and name plaque and bosh. Jobs a good'un.

It really doesn't take long to put together a cute little keepsake like this to give to someone for a special occasion. I do hope the recipients enjoyed this card, and will keep it treasured for years to come.

As crafters, we all know how much thought, time and materials go into each creation - and I always hope that our cards are set aside from the rest and saved from the bin. Even if they're kept in a keepsake box, or tucked away in a drawer. Each time that person catches a glimpse of our creations when rooting through their stuff, fond memories will flood back. :)

Although, let's not get soft. I, myself, know a fair few people who would happily have my card on their mantle piece for the time being, and then think nothing of it after the occasion is over. Hah. It's pretty upsetting, but at least I know and I can save myself from any extra effort.

Anywho, I'll stop the jibber jabber and let you get on with your day.

Thank you for stopping by.

..and because I couldn't have a post in December without ANY Christmas-y action..

12 SLEEPS! xo

Yo' Fave Combo at Passion for ProMarkers

I've been waiting for this challenge to go live over at Passion for ProMarkers for AY-JEZ!! One of my most favourite things ever is colour combos. Especially favourite colour combos, and that's just what we've got for ya today!! ;) We wanna see your..

FAVOURITE COLOUR COMBO

This extraordinary challenge was set by our lovely Coops. She knows how to get us excited! :)

You guys might be thinking I'ma hit you with a blue and brown combo. Well let me break it to ya.. YOU'D BE WRONG! Nuh uhh. Three of my favourite colours to work with when it comes to ProMarkers are Orange, Lime Green, and Turquoise. Take a little scroll back through my blog and you'll see it popping up time and time again! ;) Trust.

SO!! I had to go for it. I decided to colour up the adorable? cheeky? chic? Geeky!! GEEKY!! Geeky Mae from Some Odd Girl. I ain't gonna lie, I wanted her to look a little like me. So brown hair and blue eyes it was. Of course, dressed in my favourite colours. Heh.

I took this as an opportunity to practice my creases, as she has a few in her t-shirt and leg warmers, or are they boots? Anywho. I know I've got a loooong waaay to go yet, but I'm getting there. Each and every time I'm a little bit happier with how my images turn out! :)

So I sorta coloured her up to match papers from a PaperMania pack called.. lemme think.. Happy Days. I bought it a while a go and this is the first time I've used it. Bad Lou!! I know. Love the bottle caps and the graphic prints. Soo cool. Good job you get three sheets of each design. LOL!

I die cut some flowers from the grey chevron paper with a PTI die and misted them with some.. wait for it.. Aegean Sea mist. I KNOW!! I then added a green and orange brad to the two smaller flowers and dotted some liquid pearls here and there. Again, in a diagonal pattern.. that's like the fourth card now. Is this turning into some sorta rut?! Anywho. I stamped a Whimsy Postmark sentiment onto Pool Party ink from SU! and die cut it using the smallest pinking circle.

This was the effort from a late night/ early morning (depending on how you look at it) session on Saturday night. Heh. I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd stay up and colour.

Some of you who have me on FB may have already seen that photo.. and if you've visited me earlier this morning you'll have seen Wryn on her very own card!!

That's all I got for ya today. I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
- Glitter and Sparkle - Sentimental
- The Squirrel and the Fox - Anything Goes
- CMC Copic Challenge - Fave Colour Combo

Over and OUT. Be sure to stop by the Passion for ProMarkers blog and see which colours us colour addicts like to throw together! xo

Happy Birthday to a Shopaholic

Third day. Third commission. Do you see a pattern forming here? Uh huh. I may be part of DT's, but I also work behind the scenes creating stuffs for 'customers' too. Customers in inverted commas, because it isn't really a business. It's just something I do to try and fund my craft addicition. I just forget to share these projects with you all sometimes! :P Heh.

So here is the fantastic Sarah Shopper from Kraftin' Kimmies Everyday Girls 2 collection. She was perfect for a recent order, so I couldn't wait to get her coloured up to match some papers from Echo Park Springtime collection. She has been coloured using the usual ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. I added some Warm Greys underneath her to look like a pavement and the standard blue glow around her. I trimmed out the image panel and added some stitching using a Melon Mambo marker from SU!

The pinks and purples in the Echo Park paper work so well. I love them. I've used up a load of the scraps by die cutting some flowers using a PTI die and adding them around the main image panel. The sentiments have been created using my alphabet stamps from Lawn Fawn. I've added a bunch of buttons threaded with pink natural twine and some Kaisercraft gemstones. Bosh.

Hope you likey. xo

Travel

Morning guys! :) Quickly stopping in with another commissioned card I made a few weeks back using the gorgeous newish papers from Basic Grey What's Up collection. LOVE the travel theme and the muted colours. Freakin' delish.

I used some dies and some EF's and some twill stripe ribbon.. aaaand an embellishment from the coordinating kit.. what else. Oh, of course. Harolds ABC's from Lawn Fawn to create my sentiment and the little age circle! ;) Stamped in Real Red from SU! LOVE! :)

I so didn't wanna part with that map paper. Truely. But hey, no more hoarding. Aren't I doing well? Everytime I craft and catch myself second guessing whether I actually wanna use something or keep it for myself.. I chant 'use it up, use it up' like some kinda nerd! LOL. :)

That's about it from me for today. I gotta get the housework done and then get my ass ready for work. GAAA!! Three more days then I'm off for 216 hours. :) That's 9 days for those of you who don't wanna break it down. HA!

Over and OUT. xo

Peaches in the Pink

I'm sticking to my promise, thus far. Right? I've had a post every day this week for ya! ;) Today is no exception.. it was a toss up between a comissioned card and a SMASH* page.. this gorgeous little card won over though, be back tomorrow for a SMASH* page featuring my little (big) Shadow Cat.

So here is the yummy.. "Peaches in the Pink" - NEVER a combo I'd ever think of doing.. but hell.. it just started coming together and I went with it. I used some of that gorgeous hexagon paper from My Minds Eye.. that I've been hoarding for the perfect project. Voila. :)

I've stamped my sentiment using Harolds ABCs from Lawn Fawn - which have been totally hammered these past months - using some yummy Pool Party ink from SU! A vellum doily, some twill stripe ribbon, a few buttons and liquid pearls, twine, ohh and some Wild Orchid Crafts goodness.

How do you guys feel about cards with no images? Do you find them harder to piece together? I dunno what it is.. it just takes me forever to decide on layers and papers and placement. Then I always go back to what I had decided on in the first place - making the process way more lengthy than it needs to be. I guess I have a problem with commitment before I play around with the look for a while first!! LOL!

In a way, I kinda like making cards like this as a 'break' in between colouring and tryna find colours to match my PM combos and stuff. Weird, as I love colouring more than anything.. but I also have a huge love affair with paper - so just playing with paper and stamps with no pens involved is very relaxing. No thinking involved really.

So, that's all from me today. I hope to catch up more with you all soon!!

We're All PINK at TInkers

So I had a blast yesterday. I got all Tiddly and Inky! ;) I sat colouring and cutting and colouring some more. Raiding my drawers for embellishments and punches and glitter stuffs and such! Today, I can show you one of the cards I made using a new-ish image from Tiddly Inks. I'm sure you've all seen her before! ;) I'll apologise now for the gloomy photos - it was pretty glum by the time I got round to taking photos yesterday evening.

So this is Wryn - Beach Babe in her little bathing costume and beach bag. Adorable and perfect with a capital 'P' for summer! I've coloured her using my beloved PMs and FMs and fussy cut her out! Now when you read the title of this post.. I betcha thought it was gonna be a pink and green combo - like usual. Well NO!! It's pink and PURPLE this time round guys!

Watch THIS! Haha. Surpriseeee! ;)

So I whipped this card up for the brand new challenge over at Tiddly Inks this fortnight!!

PINK!!

Incase you hadn't already clicked!! Haha!! I've used some First Edition - Bird Song papers. I've followed the sketch over at The Sketchy Challenges and added a load of embellishments and bling. That thing us crafters say over and over again.. "If it's out on my desk.. I'll use it" SO TRUE!! Everything I've used on this card was hanging out on my already messy desk. Wild Orchid Crafts goodies, PTI dies, rolled flowers, pearls and some previously stamped and die cut Whimsy postage stamps.

A lot of pink. I know. I friggin' excelled myself!! LMAO!!

So head over to the Tiddly Inks CHALLENGE BLOG now and see what the girlies created for ya in all of their pink glory!

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
The Sketchy Challenges - Lizzies Sketch
lizziesketch02
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Girls, Girls, Girls
Always Crafting - Summer
Love to Create - Summertime Fun
Use your Stuff - Make it by Hand
I hope my rolled flower counts! :)
Sentimental Sundays - Summer FUN

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your Tuesday, whatever it brings! :)

Star Trek Birthday

Here I am to show you another commissioned card I whipped up rather quickly for a friend. It's her Dad's 50th this weekend, and he loves Star Trek, so putting this card together was easy peasy..

Just as soon as I found a relevant Star Trek 'picture' as it were!! I decided to use the Star Trek colours, with the mustard yellow, red and turquoise-y blue. Here's me thinking I don't like Star Trek - I seem to know a bit about it though! LOL!!

So here's what I came up with. I found the b+w Star Trek image on Google, I've probably crossed all sorts of lines and committed a million violations by using it on my card, but I did try my best to find Copyright info so I could link.. there was none to be had.

So I printed that off onto Neenah cardstock and distressed the edges using my TH tool. I then layed some vellum over the top to take away from the harsh black. I kinda like how it turned out. All of the base layers have been adhered at jaunty angles. The main area of the card has all been pieced together on top a PTI die cut which I have stamped with Real Red ink from SU! I used another PTI stamp for the 'Happy Birthday' and cut the '50' and 'DAD' using my MM Slice. :) The stars have been cut and punched from the same Lime Twist paper as the letters. To finish, I added a few red rhinestones in strategic places to keep my vellum in place. :)

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
Dream Valley Challenge - For that Special Guy
Simply Create Too - Father's Day or For a Male
Charisma Cardz - Male Cards

While I'm here, just this one time. Thought I'd share a stoopid picture with you all!! Messing about with my new photo editing software seeing as Picasa and all of it's other components have been given the cold shoulder from me. Big style! Hope you likey.

Ginger Gingery Gingerness

:) It's the WEEEKEEEND!! YEAHH!! By the time this post goes live.. I'll probably be.. driving back from my boyfriends and planning on getting my ass back to bed for a few more hours at least. I can see myself turning night into day over the weekend getting commissions and DT work finished up for the next few days. Just how I like to roll. Best stop by somewhere and get some coffee soonish!

Wanna know a PLUS?! Mother Goose is away down south for a Hot Rod show. You're probably thinking.. well what does that mean?! Ohhh!! I won't have her trumpeting around the house at 9 o'clock in the morning like a pet elephant tryna wake me up accidentally on purpose. Hell no!! It'll just me be and my little cat Shadow all weekend long. Bliss.

So onto what you've actually clicked onto me for. My card! :) This was made for a girl I know so much about but haven't really spoken to properly before. She's a sister of a friend of mine who I work with. Guess what?! She's GINGER!! You guys probably know my obsession with red hair and stuffs.. well.. THIS was the PERFECT opportunity to colour me up some ginger prettiness. So I did. I chose Book and Bedhead from Saturated Canary.  I've coloured her with PMs and FMs and left the image panel pretty big. I done this in order to add more interest to the card without adding bulk. This card was originally going to be posted - so I had to keep it as flat as I could. Low and behold.. it was eventually hand delivered, so I coulda layered it up Lou Mac style. Never mind, huh.

I used scraps of paper from My Minds Eye - Madison Avenue for this card. That paper pad seems to be real tricky to get a hold of now?! I've stamped a Hero Arts sentiment and finished it off using some alpha stickers from Cosmo Cricket. All four brads are from SU!'s subtles collection. I die cut the flowers using a PTI die and used more scraps of paper to layer the flag trim behind.

I had a total blast colouring this beauty. I'll list the colours just as soon as I actually find where I wrote them.. if I did at all!!

Enjoy your Saturday, whatever it may bring! Over and OUT.

Take Care

Just checking in! :) How's your weekend been shaping up - I know it's almost over.. what with it being Monday tomorrow.. but it's a LONG weekend for some of us, huh? Bank Holiday celebrations will continue, I'm sure. I'm lucky enough to have the day off tomorrow, so I'll feel all weird tomorrow morning when I have a lie in. Can't wait though.

So, I'm still keeping up with my post a day thing.. just. I know this is kinda late, but I've been a busy bee today. Logging onto the laptop before to upload my latest projects from my camera - I realised what a mess my folders and stuff were in! In amongst that mess was this card that I forgot to share with you all aaaaages ago.

The most delicious sentiment stamps ever from Waltzingmouse - Say it Loud set, stamped in Pretty in Pink and Soft Suede ink from SU! I've die cut the main panel with a Labels Eighteen die and outlined it with some dooooodles. Gotta love a doodle. Hmmm.. papers are from My Minds Eye Madison Avenue - which seems to be really tricky to get hold of now.

Pretty much minimal embellishment for this card. I used some yummy lace I got sent from a crafty friend alongside some die cut flowers and vellum leaves.

Sometime, when I have a free day - no deadlines, no work.. I hope to have a chance to sit down and makde a bunch of these sort of embellishments. Like clusters, in different colours. On standby. Ready to be used on a card that is needed quickly. To keep it simple - know what I mean? Gahh, anyway. I'm waffling.

You guys seen the Some Odd Girl DT Call, right? :) Come on now, who's applying?! I've been typing my application up - but I'm keeping it in my drafts for now, until I perfect it me thinks. Don't wanna go rushing - you have til July 1st!! One the same SOG track - I'll be back tomorrow with the card I rustled up for the new colour inspiration challenge! :)

Before I head off I'd like to enter this card into these challenges:
The Ribbon Girl - Use Ribbon or Lace
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes
Secret Crafter - Anything Goes
Hotshot Craft - Die cuts

So, that's all from me tonight - thanks for stopping by. I'm off to rearrange my folders and help my boyfriend out on Batman Arkham City. :) Over and out.

Saturday 2 June 2012

With a SPLASH of SILVER

Hey guys. So it's JUNE. A whole new month ahead of us. Already. I know.

So I though it'd be nice to aim for at least a post a day here over at Cartolinas. I always tell you guys that I've been busy making stuff.. and 99.9% of the time that is generally the case.. the problem starts when I actually come to share it with you guys. I don't know what it is, but my posts are like buses. Loads at once and then days with none. I hope to change that, at least for the month of JUNE!

So today, being a lovely chillaxing Saturday.. for those of you lucky enough to not be stuck at work like me.. BoooHOO!! I thought I'd show you a little wedding commission I made up lately! :) You guys know I love these types of cards - you can go as mad as or be as subtle as you like with embellishments, and 9 times out of 10 (a lot of 'stats' in this post today! LOL!!) there are no images to be coloured. Relaxing makes, to say the least - just make sure you don't dribble Glossy Accents everywhere like I usually do when using Wild Orchid Craft goodness!!

I've used some papers from First Edition Isabelle collection, and kept the layout pretty simple with most of the 'stuff' in the middle/bottom third of the card - depending on how you want to look at it! LOL. I've used a gorgeous stamp from Waltzingmouse - Compact Sentiments which I've cut using a Papertrey Ink Fillable Frames #10 die and co-ordinating stamp.

I've added some silver satin ribbon in a cute little (big) bow diagonally above the sentiment which is the largest thing on the card. I then glued, very messily, an organza flower and a 15mm white rose, both from Wild Orchid Crafts. Hmm, what else? I've taken the corners of the base patterned paper out with a circle punch and spotted some white liquid pearls here and there. Oh, and a yummy glittery Doodlebug brad - because I love them. :)

Thank you for stopping by today! :) Enjoy your Saturday, whatever you're up to.

Oh, and before I forget - have you linked up to the party over at Pollycraft yet?! See THIS POST for all of the details and MORE!

Wednesday 25 April 2012

That.. Hair..

Wednesday. Quixotic. You guys might be surprised to know that I had this card finished off like.. TWO WEEKS ago. Organised? Maybe. Received a kick up the ass? Definitely. Will it continue? Hopefully. :)

So lets get down to the nitty, gritty. You all know I'm in love with TGF, right? Some of you may know that I'm desperate to achieve more contracts with 'natural' hair colours using my PMs/FMs.. I think I'm making progress. Let me know what you think..?

So here is one handsome boy on the block.. Ryan from TGF Wild Sprouts. Don't know what I love more. Those eyes, that.. HAIR.. his style!! Love this stamp. LOVE.

I've stamped him in Memento - Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him in pretty neutral colours with my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers then cut him out using a Labels Eighteen die.

I've sponged some Tea Dye and Frayed Burlap ink atop some letters I cut with my TH Vintage Market die. Love how this looks! :) I've used some papers from My Minds Eye Sunshine collection. Neutral, nice. :) You know. Peace.

Wednesday 14 March 2012

Mam, You're the BEST!

It's Wednesday again, where is this month going?! Time for some more Quixotic Inspiration! :)

With Mother's Day only a few days away I've been pumping out the Mothers Day cards! :) Obviously. I got a Mam, and a Grandma, and my boyfriend and my Mam wanted cards made for their mothers. Boy oh boy. Good job I don't have a phobia of pink, right?

Speaking of pink.. pink was the basis of my card I'm sharing today. Pink, and classy!!

Here is another gorgeous lady from Kraftin' Kimmie Everyday Girls line - Sophia. Isn't she a diva?! I've coloured her using ProMarkers and fussy cut her out. I've adhered her to the card using dimensional adhesive.

As for the sentiment I used Whimsy Everyday Mini Postage Sentiments and coordinating Die stamped onto the same yummy Bazzil cardstock as the base card.

As for added details - I used the lush square lattice embossing folder from SU! for the base of my design, alongside a labels 18 spellbinders die and some damask stamps from PTI. Yum! :)

Pretty CAS card.. with no hint of patterned paper anywhere - a little proud of myself, I gotta admit.

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Thursday 8 March 2012

Together Always

Morning guys, thanks for stopping by today. Scheduling this post on Wednesday night as I sit watching Apollo 18 - what a load!! HA! Need to get my ass to bed sharpish. At work all day today, then I plan on getting ahead with some Mother's Day orders tonight. Fingers crossed. Nothing ever goes to plan though, does it?!

So I thought I'd share a commissioned wedding card with ya. :) I had total free reign on this one so I tried to go with neutral colours and a splash of blue, simply because I couldn't help myself. Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, right? ;)

I used a mixture of Hero Arts, Papertrey Ink and Waltzingmouse stamps alongside some My Minds Eye paper, a LLB brad and some deliciousness from The Ribbon Girl!!

Think I kinda like it! :)

That's it. Over and out.
Pop back tomorrow for some LLLC and Tiddly Inks treats.

Friday 16 December 2011

All About Circles over at LLLC

Morning all. How's your day looking?! Snow where you are yet?! Nup, not here either. Still all clear for another day. Thank goodness. It always makes everything so much more difficult (in this country).. yet beautiful. Until it turns to slush.

Enough of the weather talk, you're here to see some Friday Inspiration over at La La Land Crafts, aren't ya!!

Well this week we have been all about

CIRCLES

Either circle cards or a circle in the design. So I went with circles in my design, cut using my trusty nesties!!

I used an image from the new release, Mod Marci, doesn't she look so relaxed and cool with her guitar and those gorgeous ginger locks of hers?! Wow - what I'd give to have hair like that.

I've used Copics and ProMarkers - naturally - to colour her.
Skin - YR000, YR00, E01, E11, R20, R32
Hair - E95, E11, YR14, E07
Green - Bright Green, Lime Green
Browns - Cocoa, Henna, Walnut
Guitar - Ginger, Spice, Cool Grey 3, 4, Black
Jeans - Cornflower, China Blue, Midnight Blue
I've paper pieced Marci's hat with some scraps of paper - that was no mean feat. My printer wasn't having ANY of it at first, the paper piece was just far too small. But I got there in the end. *wipes brow* That pattern would make awesome material!!

So let me talk ya through it. I used some scraps from MME Lime Twist - Life of the Party collection. Some of you frugal people will be pleased to know I have nearly conquered that whole paper pad, scraps and all. Not many papers left to be used at all. :) It is just me, or does that not make you feel excited?! Means I gotta replace a paper pad with some new stuff!! Not til February though, I've promised myself.

I die cut four different sized circles and arranged them randomly on my card. I placed Marci atop the biggest one on dimensionals. I've stamped a sentiment from PTI Butterfly dreams on another scrap of paper and created a banner. To finish off the circle theme I added three pearl brads and silver spacers to the design. I adhered it all down to a warm brown card base and doodled around the outside edge. Job done.

Is it just me.. or are you all having GREAT difficulty tryna find challenges that AIN'T Christmas related?! Geeez!! Roll on the New Year when things can start getting back to normal. I think I've been on Christmas over load this year. :/

Enjoy your day, whatever you get up to. Remember, it's almost the weekend! :)

Tuesday 13 December 2011

Wish for Wishes

Quicky gonna finish this post up before I head out to darts. I've had most of it typed up for a while but wanted to wait until I had an empty day on my blog. Turns out my day ain't empty though, I gotta type up my reveal post for

LOVEY TOBIE from Some Odd Girl.

I honestly don't know where the time has gone these past few weeks. I'm so behind with everything. Like.. everything. This time next year I'm really gonna be more organised. I'll have to be if I don't want my head to explode. HA! Anywho.. not what you came here for.

The lastest (and last *boooo*) Sassy release has really got me!! Like.. really, REALLY!! I've been bitten by the Sassy bug yet again. I'm itching to colour up the rest of the set. Give a girl time. There simply ain't enough hours in the day, but I'll get there!!

Here is Picture Pose. Isn't she beautiful?! This was a birthday card for a close friend, so I went with a pink and brown vintagey feel. Kinda like how it turned out! :) Can I say that?

I've coloured this cutie using the usual combo of Copics and ProMarkers..
Skin - YR000, YR00, E01, E11, R20, R32
Hair - E55, E57, E59
Eyes - Bright Green, Forest Green
Pinks - Sunkissed Pink, Coral, Antique Pink
Dress - E40, E41, 0
Cushion - E30, E31, E33

I went with something a little different for the background.. pink clouds!! Yeah.. and what?! LOL!! It's sorta like.. a pink poof of smoke, or perfume, or make up. Okay?! HA!! :) I didn't think stark blue clouds woulda looked overly fitting on this card.

I cut the image out using the largest Labels 16 die and distressed and doodled the edges. I adhered it to the card on a jaunty angle. I'm all for that lately.

Of course, I had to use some WOC flowers and those moonstone brads are fast becoming a staple in my stash! I also used a spacer underneath it.

Yummy bunch of embellishments from The Ribbon Girl. Where else?! I can never remember the name of this ribbon, but it's bloody lovely. It ties so nicely, and its so smooth. There are a bunch of colours too, but I think I only have a couple. Some brown bakers twine ties a little silver key charm around the knot.

The little tag is from a PTI die, and I've stamped 'wish' in Pretty in Pink ink from the Tiny Tags stamp set from PTI.

Yum. Oh, and some lace from TRG too!! :)

Here is a sneak at the inside of the card, I didn't photograph the whole lot as I had already wrote my message inside. I've used some yummy MME papers from the Madison Avenue collection.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Papercuts - Woodgrain
Patterned Paper: My Minds Eye - Madison Avenue

Saturday 19 November 2011

Sister, Sister.

Got some more Hello Sunshine goodness to share with ya this morning. Told ya you'd get sick a LONG time before me! LOL. I've still got a few slices of paper left to use and a load of tags, brads and accordian flowers. So there is time yet! :)

So you remember THIS card I showed you not long ago? The same lady requested a sister card from me too. So here is what I came up with. I hoped it wasn't too 'samey', but I just love working with these papers. I teamed the slice of very busy paper from the collection with some So Saffron cardstock from SU! My cardbase and centre panel are cut from Bazzill Kraft cardstock.

Some delicious stamps from Papertrey, some delicious ink colours from SU! and some alpha stickers from Sassafrass complete the sentiment for this card. I added a strip of polka dot aqua ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and the job was d-o-n-e. :)

Hope you like this card, a big break from the usual Christmas colours we've been seeing a lot of around blog land lately.

Enjoy your day, whatever you're doing. I think I'ma try and get my ass into gear and make a start on collaborating some stuff for.. perhaps.. a DECEMBER MINI?! ;) If all goes well, I might ask Santa for some Smash* goodies!

Tuesday 8 November 2011

Seventieth 70th

Some of you may know I attended my second ever craft fayre at the end of October, and because my sister loves me, she hopped on the train from Burton and stopped at mine over the weekend. The night before she was due to leave she sprang upon me that she needed two 70th male birthday cards made within the week. Crikey!! So I set to work..

I didn't think images and stuff would be suitable for these sorta cards, so I went with my version of CAS for the both of them! :)

For the first card I chose some chocolate brown cardstock from Papercuts for my card base paired up with some Baja Blue cardstock from SU! which matched my patterned paper from Kaisercraft Homemaker collection perfectly. I followed a layout I loved the look of from one of Kristina Werners Holiday Card Series cards. I stamped the word 'birthday' from a Hero Arts set in Versamark ink down the entire length of the Baja Blue cardstock. I then added 'happy' using some Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers.

See what I done there?! ;)

To finish it off I used my Slice to create a 0 and a 7. I then attached the numbers to a die cut from the collection a top another die cut spellbinders circle. Mandatory doodles tie it all together.

Now baring in mind these cards were for the same person.. off different people.. :/ I needed to make them radically different. So..

For the second card I used a Kraft card base alongside some papers from Echo Park - For The Record collection. I cut a piece of the plain green patterned paper using a Mat Stack 3 die from PTI and used a coordinating stamp in Garden Green from SU to give it a bit more interest.

I cut some of the gorgeous lime green patterned paper using a ticket die from Whimsy stamps and added some doodles around the edges. To balance it out I added some lime green bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl to the right hand side of the sentiment panel, which was made from some yellow scraps of gingham paper from the same collection.

The sentiment was created using some Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers. Perfecto for this sorta thing. I cut the 7 and 0 with my Slice using some more beige paper from the For The Record collection. Finally I stamped some text from a Waltzing Mouse set on the card base in Crumb Cake ink from SU and rounded the two top corners! Eaaasy peasy! :)

Pollycraft Challenge #113

Good morning Pollycrafters. How've you all been?! Good weekend I hope?! I've been off work for three days, and I won't lie - it's felt lush. Just a shame I've got to go in and do a four hour shift later on this afternoon. *think of the money* HA! Anywho..

Today over at Pollycraft Challenges, guess who's set the challenge theme?! YEAH!! Only yours truely! ;) Like you need three guesses to guess what I set up?! A SKETCH!! Of course! ;)

Here is it. Apologies for the hideous colour combo - I just didn't want any confusion. Get me?! :)

The prize for this weeks winner is 10 POLLYCRAFT DIGIS!! I can't see why you'd need any more reason to join in, personally! ;)

So here's my take on my sketch. HA!

I had to use the handsome Casper Silvermist, because.. he's too handsome to leave behind. Truth is, I gotta pull my finger out and start making more male cards. It's not that I don't enjoy doing them, it's just.. it's a lot harder to 'jazz' up a male card as opposed to a female card which you could embellish til 'the cows turn blue' (which is a phrase I heard on Capital FM the other morning and nearly peed myself. Obviously the girl meant til 'the cows come home' - mortified!!).

Anyway, I've coloured Casper - what a dreamy name - using Copics and ProMarkers then fussy cut him out. I've paired him up with some of the blue and grey papers from MME Hattie collection. I've used both STD Circles LG and LG Pinking Circles to cut out my shapes and doodled most edges. I've stamped a sentiment from PTI Tiny Tags set in Chestnut Roan ink onto a small circle.

I think that just about covers it, oh and I also added some aqua bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl around the longest strip of patterned paper for an added something.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Here Come The Boys - Wheely Nice
I hope the wheels on his skateboard count, ladies?
× One Stitch at A Time - Use a Digi
× Paper Sundaes - Lots of Layers
× The Crafty Pad - One for the Boys

It's World Card Making Day!!

You guessed it. It's World Card Making Day!! World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006.

Coupled with this there is a NEW RELEASE over at La La Land Crafts. Why are YOU telling us this, Lou.. I hear you ask? WHY?! Because I'm only a GUEST DESIGNER for the next two months! ;) Heehee. You read right!!

HA. So head on over to the STORE and the CHALLENGE BLOG now to see the whole of the new release and the awesome projects the team have created with them!!

I chose to use BIG PANDA MARCI because she is just too cute to say no too!! :) I've coloured her using Copics and ProMarkers.

Skin: YR000, YR00, E11, R30
Hair: E33, E35, E37
Shoes: Cocoa, Henna, Walnut
Shorts: Cornflower, China Blue, Midnight Blue
Pinks: Cocktail Pink, Salmon Pink, Carmine
Greens: Lime Green, Bright Green, Grass

Greys: Cool Grey 3, 4, 5

This is my first ever attempt at colouring a LLLC image and what a BLAST I had. What fun and adorable images they are to colour!! I've been working at my 'jeans' colouring - can ya tell?! Please say you can because I've literally gone through ALL of my blue PM's to work out a combo. The three I've chosen give a sort of textured look. Please say they do!! :) LOL.

I've used papers from MME Lime Twist - Life of the Party collection. I've added the mandatory doodles and some kraft matting. The little tag is cut using a die from PTI and stamped with a PTI stamp in Melon Mambo ink from SU!

Marci is available to pre-order HERE with shipping on 15th October... so go and get your. I can't wait to see what you guys make with these newbies, and when you do make sure you add your cards to the customer gallery HERE.
