softball

matt joined his work's team for softball this year. we joined him for his game last week.

while we were there i:

watched matt catch a fly ball
enjoyed the beautiful sky
nursed my baby on the corner of the lawn
potty'd both girls in secret on the grass. the bathrooms were 700 miles away from where we were.
watch matt hit a fly ball and get out
laughed at the girls copying the little league football drills
pushed the girls in the swings
ate a nectarine
saw a rainbow

while annie was swinging she saw a little boy in his football garb and leaned over to me and said, "that kid has huge shoulders." and was so serious about it. i told matt what she said and pointed to the kid and we shared a good laugh. his shoulders were huge, of course, with his pads on...and she thought they were his real shoulders. i love kids.
