Bookmark with silly monster - It's time to read

Hello everyone, luckily I have found some time lately to make a bookmark. I needed one, so I really had to find time for crafting. I started to read the Mythos by Stephen Fry because my daughter is so good in Greek mythology and she is always testing me. I think she is extremely satisfied when she sees her mother struggling. Unfortunately, my memories about the Greek mythology are more than 30 years old. I must not lose face before my daughter, so I have to refresh my memories and believe me this book is the best for this.

Since it's a bookmark, my goal was to make it as flat as I can. No dimensions, no protruding parts!

I cut out my tag from a 300 gsm watercolour paper with Sizzix Framelits die, Tag Collection (658784). I coloured it with Tumbled Glass Distress paint. I stencilled little squares with Linen layering stencil. For this I used the mixture of Antique Linen and Picket Fence paints.

I spattered my tag with brown paint.

For the letters, I used Sizzix Thinlits die, Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower (664407) and Alphanumeric 3/4" (660056). For this, I coloured a piece of paper with Cracked Pistachio paint and when it was dry I cut out the letters.

The silly monster is part of the Sizzix Thinlits die set, Silly Monsters (662374). The crown is from the Sizzix Movers&Shapers die set, Mini Crown and Fleur (657210). For the dots on the crown, I used the Sizzix Thinlits die set, Atomic Elements (664152). To the bottom I put a strip which was cut out with the Sizzix Impresslits die, Star Trim (663297). Both the strip and the crown were painted with metallic pearl paint.

With my tag, I would like to join the:

Bookmark - rabbit with parachute

For making this bookmark I had two inspirations. One of them was my earlier bookmark with the same rabbit and the second was the current MFT sketch challenge, the Sketch 493.

I used two MFT stamp sets illustrated by Stacey Yacula for creating this bookmark. The Sky High and the Scene Builder. The latter stamp set is one of my favourites and I think it will soon become the most frequently used stamp set by me.

And here I share with you a tutorial of making the field because I will need this later.

So, I started with YG0000:

Next with YG25

Next YG23

Next G21

Next YG11

Then I repeated again with YG0000

And then YG21

For the tree, I used YG67, YG63, YG61.

I hope this tutorial will be useful for you too!

And here is an another photo of the finished bookmark.

Bookmark with a little boy and his dogs

Today I have brought you a bookmark. We are big bookmark consumers, so when I finish a bookmark immediately someone from my family wants it for himself/herself.

For this bookmark, I used the MFT Stitched Traditional Tags and the Birdie Brown stamp sets, the Little Buddies, Our Story and New Best Friend.

I coloured it with Copic Sketch markers.

With this bookmark, I would like to join the MFT Color Challenge 141.

Bookmark with a dragon

Yesterday I could find some time to go to my craft room, a little me time. I really don't want to complain because in one hand I enjoy that my family is at home but I have more work to serve them, to feed them constantly and to be a teacher, a tutor for my daughter.

So here is my bookmark.

I cut out a tag with the MFT Die-Namics Stitched Traditional Tags. I used the biggest one. Then I coloured the background with Ranger Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks. Then I spattered the sky part with diluted white acrylic paint.

I stamped the branch from the MFT Owlways stamp set with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, then I coloured with Ranger Distress markers.

The dragon is part of the Birdie Brown Magical Dragons stamp set and was stamped on Neenah Solar White Paper with MFT Chocolate Hybrid ink. Then I coloured with Copic Sketch markers. I fussy cut the image and glued on the tag.

With my tag, I would like to join the MFT current sketch challenge, the Wednesday Sketch Challenge 488.

I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Bookmark with Pure Innocence girls by MFT

Do you remember the bookmark I have made for my sister? If not, it's here. So about a week ago I asked my sister what colour dress she wanted to wear and she chose green. I think it wasn't the perfect colour to a mostly green background :-)

Thus, I decided to make another bookmark but this time it was my turn to dress her up.

What I used:

MFT Pure Innocence, You're My Person stamp set

MFT Pure Innocence, Hey, Sunshine stamp set

Bookmark with a chemist

Here I am again with another bookmark but I changed the Viking to a chemist. This bookmark was made for my lovely Italian neighbour who is a chemistry teacher, who wears glasses and who once had brown hair - no he is grey.

What I used:

MFT Birdie Brown, Cute Chemists stamp set

MFT Laina Lamb, Undeniable Chemistry stamp set

MFT Die-Namics, Stitched Traditional Tags

I stamped the main image on the bookmark, then I masked it and coloured with C8 Copic Sketch marker the chalkboard. When I was ready with the colouring I stamped and heat embossed the chemistry formulas with Ranger very fine white embossing powder.

I glued a light grey tag to the back of this tag to hide the Copic stains.

I hope you like it!!! Happy crafting!!!
