T-Shirt Ideas

I have a lovely friend with a large family. When we go on a field trip or to a family function, her kids are always wearing T-shirts the same color. She says it makes keeping track of the kids easier. I see the beauty of the idea, but I've rarely been able to accumulate that many T-shirts in the same color in the sizes I need. I found Hobby Lobby's T-shirt department this week. BTW, the Ts were on sale this week, 50% off. I got my kids' shirts for $1.50 each. Even at full price that's a steal. There was a rainbow of colors from which to choose. Adult sizes were ~$2 a piece on sale. The best part, however, was the Inkjet Tranfer Paper I picked up with it.

If you haven't heard of Inkjet Transfer Paper (I only heard about it recently), it lets you print an image or lettering onto the special paper using your printer, and then you can iron it onto your fabric item to make a custom T-shirt, pillowcase, etc. The package even comes with a software download to make designing your design pretty easy (You can go straight to the free download of the "Lite" version of Hanes T-shirt Maker but it requires a free login). The paper runs about $10.50 for 7 sheets, so make sure you get the right paper for your printer and T-shirt (light or dark color), and that you test out your image on regular paper before you start printing it on the paper.

I made 4 shirts yesterday (matching colors!) with pictures and writing that my kids requested. We all had fun with designing them, the kids each got exactly what they wanted, and now we have matching colors to wear for crowded functions. All of us are itching to make another batch.
