New Years Pocket Page

Last time when I was running low on page protectors
I grabbed a box without looking and wa-laa
50 project life pocket pages.
I decided to keep them because I'm seriously
running out of album storage so I may
play around with them more to reduce the amount of
albums I've been creating.
Since I create a page for 5 days each for the blog times
52 is about 260 pages a year.
About 3-4 albums sooooo....
if I want to highlight a certain photo I can do that too.
Love how this turned out for maybe my second or
third 12x12 pocket page (I have done smaller ones).
We took off camping for new year's
with some friends and camped in Fort Perkins for 2 days
and because of bad weather we left and went
back to their place (they have a nice slice of property)
 and camped out.
However, prior to the bad weather we did go on a field trip
to the Naval Aviation Museum and the Pensacola Lighthouse.
I adore both.
It was a lovely time all around and very easygoing.

Camping in Cayuga with the grands

First there was swimming...

 Then there was roasting marshmallows......
 Really HUGE marshmallows
Connor couldn't decide between roasted and raw...

Had a great time.
Too short.

Had a visitor sashay through camp

Caught this iguana coming out and of course my camera
was in the RV - I startled him in my effort
to grab it - but I managed to get him on his way back into the brush.

Of course I had to go look for him...
Scared the bejeesus out of me because he really
was out in the open and I'm looking under stuff LOL.
There he was watching me - looking for him.
He was quite the poser too.

While waiting for dinner

on Marathon Keys fisheries the pelicans
were fishing and just hanging out.
Dinner was absolutely amazing by the way
and so is the weather.
So while waiting on our dinner I had
a great time amusing myself.
 Got a lucky action shot...
 Okay two action shots.
Well maybe three.........
 A beautiful sunset.

Sunset in the keys......

Camping on the Salmon River

We had the best campsite - EVER.
Really.
It was totally by the river where you could
hear the rushing water
all.night.long.
And it was a beautiful sound to fall asleep to.
As well as wake up, listen and fall back asleep to.
We had some visitors in the morning across the river.
And they were beautiful.
Mama caught me there.
Boldly crossing the river except for one fawn.
Poor baby just didn't want to go.
Packed up and headed back to the east side of Idaho.
And on the mountain was this traffic light.
Is that not a hoot?
 More rushing rivers.
 And more amazing barns.
We made it back to Idaho Falls and we're
headed to Jackson Hole to hang out for a couple of days.
We will be boondocking in Yellowstone for
about 5 days - so I'll see ya on da flip-flop.
(cb talk - for I'll catch ya on the return trip or whenever
I get internet service) LOL!

Around our camp at Long Key State park

The infamous and most photographed tree on/in the water that we did
not camp by this time.

Some sponge that was washed up on shore.
Some friends dropped in and hung around.

These friends liked the water better.
 They grow wild everywhere.
 Sunset.

We had a lovely time.
Did some bike riding and relaxing.
Fresh fish and shrimp on the barbee.
It was a bit nippy at night - which meant we could keep
the windows open and lovely sunny days with a cool breeze.

And as mentioned before - unplugged.
All photos taken from the lounge chair in camp.
Doesn't get any better than that.

Little bit of fussy cutting

Love the banner paper and
and as you can see its have the paper it used to be.
I decided it would be fun to fussy cut the
little banners.
And it was.
I also used a circle punch to cut out the adorable
critters to use an embellishment.
I whacked out 3 only 2 made it on the page.
The camera is a fussy cut as well from Shimelle's collection.
Some strips of paper and an adorable bow
that was glued to the page prior to picking out a photo
of fun on the playground.
My bad.
Used some pop dots on the banners and camera to give them a lift.
This was a fun page to do and I love how it turned out.

It was a great time with grandkids on the monkey bars
on the playground, at the campground
from the broken foot tour.

Lawn Fawn, Shimelle, Authentique.

I'll be out of pocket for a few days.
Miss me :)

In the pink!

I sort of got carried away.
Starting with the hombre paper.
Who knew there was that many shades of pink.
And isn't that a fun thing to find out.
This photo was taken while on the broken foot tour.
The kids came up to hang with us at the campsite and while in
the camper Amelia found grandpop's hat.
And she looked totally adorable.
And it was fun.
She just owned it.

Love the Echo Park, again. Studio Calico, Paper Studio and Dear Lizzy stamp.

Reusing the same embellishment on other layouts

Its not like a rule or anything.
And its a different color.
And it works.
So why not?
Since breaking into my diecuts again, I've been having a good time with them.
And if you'll notice the circles (cookie cutters and I just LOVE).
Anyway I liked the way they were on this page
kind of like a bullseye.

As I shuffled with these 8 pix around on several different pages
for days (drama much) because honestly a lot of photos baffle me
and so do 2 page layouts which this one is not, I had an extra circle element
and tossed in the corner and it looked great - the color wasn't right
but it was perfect for the space.
Also not alot of call for tree trunks and you'll be very impressed on
how I worked in those 2.
Of course there was no room for journaling so I called on
my linguistic skills of just getting to the point and not rambling.
It worked. For the most part.

The majority is Echo Park - I picked up the Capture Life pack
and the tree trunks, labels, enamel dots and wooden arrows are Studio Calico and an
Evalicious button to finish it up.

We had the best time at the campground with the kids.
There was a playground to hang out on and we were able to build
a lovely campfire for hot dogs and marshmellows.
Doesn't get any better than that.

Cowboy Coffee Camping

In gladly keeping with the noise ordinance in boondockin, we decided on not firing up the generator in making our afternoon coffee. Fortunately, I remembered to pack the old time perculator so that just in case we were going to give boondockin' a go or worse yet, the kerig bites the dust, we have backup.

Pardon the blurry photo, but fill the coffee pot with water up to the line.

Add your grinds. We only had drip coffee and not thinking that far ahead, but perk coffee is what you need.

Assemble your propane burner by adding the base and screwing on the burner. And then fire that baby up.

Set your coffee pot on the burner and wait for the perculating to commence.
(OR use the propane stove inside-which we did in the morning).

Oops. Needed to turn it down and then let it perk for 7 minutes - no more/no less. (same for the stove).

Pour and enjoy.
