Not Just Magnolia....

So it's August and it's raining, which means I had a little time to just create... can't possibly get the washing dry in this weather. I wanted to make a card and couldn't decide on just one challenge, so I have combined quite a few...

Let me explain...

Just Magnolia # 16 - distressing
Cuttlebug #42 - Gate fold
Colour Create - Pink, Orange and Green
All combined using the fabulous sketch by Laura at 2S4Y

Phew quite a combo, I started with my gate fold for the cuttlebug challenge I think this is my first time entering I just haven't managed before. I decided to turn it on it's side and make an envelope card. I have die cut lots of hearts in the same base card and adhered to create faux embossing.
Following Laura's sketch the central strip across the middle I have embossed whitewash orange based core'dinations and sanded to bring the colour through. The edges have been distressed, using the same whitewash I have created scallop edging with apron lace punch and some faux stitching using ruler and pokey tool.
This is also my first entry for the Just Magnolia challenge and I went for a black and white photo effect and love it when they pick up one colour and enhance it on a B&W. So I have coloured the rose (it is pink IRL) and glittered and covered with my sakura clear, so that it wouldn't pick up the colour from my distress inks.
I have distressed and stamped on the inside the colours pink, orange and green which follows the challenge at colour create. Wow are you still following? Click on the pictures for close up but please forgive the terrible picture quality the daylight disappeared too quickly today.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: BG: sugared; Core'dinations: Whitewash; PM: textured card; Stamps: Magnoila: Tilda with Rose; Hero Arts: sentiment; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; Ranger: distress inks; copics; spica; Sakura: clear; Die's: Nestabilities: ovals; label1; Sizzix: flourish(hearts); Cutb'g: Embossing folder; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Other: Tims ruler; piercing tool; blending applicator; edge distresser; 3D foam;

Four for One - Forever young, LOL!

Wow second post in one day and this card covers four challenges, I know...! but it really isn't possible to be able to participate in all the fabulous challenges out there in blogland! It is quite a challenge to make one for four too!

So I have combined four challenges on this one...

Started by using the Dotty Spotty challenge on The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday

Using the Copics Colour Challenge #19 to colour the TGF Wendy image
I have used this weeks Colour Create 21 for the papers
All brought together with the fabulous Sketch #122 on CPS

It was great fun to do this card and reasonably quick to make as all the details where pretty much taken care of. I don't have all the colours for the copics challenge and have used one as close as I could get. Which seemed to co-ordinate quite well with the colour create choice. The backing paper is lot greener IRL. The sun is super shining today so went outside armed with card and camera but it was so bright I was blinded taking the picture so I have missed the cute glitter I have added on Wendy's dress and the wings on Tinkerbell.

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Crate Paper; white card; Stamps: TGF: Never Ever; Ink: Memento: Black; colourbox; copics; Sakura: stardust; Die's: Nestabilities: long rectangles; Fiskars: Apron Lace; Hero Arts: vintage collage Flowers; AC: velvet ribbon; Other: Lace; adhesive gems; buttons & natural thread; 3D foam;

A card and MY NEWS... (a long post)

OK third post in one day (((shock))) so please scroll down for my dt cards for BG and CCSR. I failed to mention just how behind I have got this week there's so many birthdays this time of year, this card I was meant to post on Thursday, I did in fact make it last Sunday... I know a week later I hope I'm just in time to post it for the two challenges... yes I've used the fab sketch from CPS and Jo picked my favourite colours on the Colour create blog...

My brief was for a male card that's retro and not too much on it but with the name and age (?) so here's the result... I have die cut the dog tag from yummy grunge board and passed it through a sizzix embossing folder. I love the effect, I have simply blended over with some distress inks. The name and age have been die cut raised on foam and the top letters I have gone over with a little glossy accents. Click images to enlarge.

Materials:
Paper: WRMK -
Nonsense Pad Of Papers & Embellishments, grunge board, DCWV - textured,
Ink: distress inks,
Die's: Sizzix - Dog Tags, alphabet - graffiti, corner punch,
Other: Sizzix - embossing folder, Glossy accents, grommet, Big Bite, glue dots, 3Dimensional foam,

So on to my news.... I think I should have done another post for this but will add more info tomorrow... Some of you may know that I have designed some stamp images for Amy of Pink Papery Studios

So when I tried my link from my blog the other day what did I find... They're all GONE she has just erased me from the site, she has also deleted the Pink Papery studio group in the craft planet forum. I have a trusting, gentle nature and feel really heart broken and very used... I wouldn't mind if she could not commit to making the stamps but I have had NO communications from her in fact so so many emails I have sent have never been replied to and quite a lot have been returned because yes she changed her email address with out telling me took me ages to sift through different sites and find a contact. So what did I get for all the hours it took me to create images on her terms, sometimes drawing through the night to stop only to feed Maoleidigh? Nothing!!! not a penny or even an email to mention she is not selling stamps anymore.

Don't worry it hasn't deterred me... I intend to start out on my own and follow suit where many have created digital stamps and then all I will need is to find a stamp manufacturer of my own!!! So seeing as the artist has the right to the images this one is for all of you, on me... enjoy, save it and print it out as much as you like but please don't pass it off as you own and If you do use it I would love to see what you have created.

This one is called a night in, Click on the image to download, the watermarking won't be on yours. Wow if you've read this far thank you so much, and hope you have a wonderful May weekend, thank you for all your birthday wishes, I've had a blast this week we went to see this band Slainte last night (fantastic) and the most beautiful cards coming through my letter box brought a tear to my eye, thank you girls!!! 2Sketches4You and Colour Create Baby Card.

Wow it has been such a long time since I've had the chance to have a go at one the wonderful sketches at 2sketches4you. So this card follows Laura's Fabulous sketch and I have also used the colours and inspiration from Colour Create Challenges which is black and white and pink with the extra of polka dots...
The pink on my card is very pale as I wanted it to congratulate a new baby girl's mother... Lots of stamping with this card... the damask I have stamped and cut out, the sentiment I have stamped and cut out and the gingham is stamped and I have run my thread tracer to create stitching and roughed the edge slightly. It definitely needed the bling and it's so hard to stop I could very easily continued...LOL! Please click on the close ups to enlarge!

Sketch Saturday AND Colour Create!!!

Thought I would have a go, this is my first time trying the Sketch Saturday challenge...
I have used the tree from father knows best set again, but this time I have heat embossed with clear ep masked it and stamped more with distress inks giving a softness to the distant trees! I kept to the colour tones of the dp! The brads I wanted to keep to a natural theme and I inked the thread to match the colours of these buttons.

Materials:
Paper: WeRMM - Write Out explore collection, PTI - Kraft
Dis:
Nestabilities rectangles, labels 1,
Stamps: PTI -
Father Knows Best ,
Ink: Versamark, mix of Distress inks, Versafine black,
Other: American Crafts grosgrain ribbon, Tim's Edge distresser, clear ep, Glossy accents, BG buttons, natural string, 3D foam,

The Next Card is for the new challenge blog created by the very talented Tara called Colour Create.....

The first challenge just happens to be my favourite colours I think you'll find most of my BG papers cover this one! Which is exactly what I used, the photo's are the worst and the pink is much brighter IRL, on this I have printed the wonderful rose digi drawings from the talented Chris! I then used my copic's to enhance the details and added a few highlights, they're so pretty and delicate! This was such a quick card to create and thin for posting too!

Materials:
Paper: BG - Sultry, Textured Pearl - Brown,
Dis: corner rounder,
Stamps: Sketching stamper - lots of flowers, HOTP - sentiment,
Ink: Colourbox, copic sketch markers, white gel pen,

Wow! two cards in one post, thanks for stopping by and getting this far, hope you have a good Friday we're having another snow day at home the hills are too bad here and the council has stopped all the school buses!!! HuGs Kim x
