~~~~🪶~~~~~
Somewhere in this tree is a tiny bird, hanging upside down, pecking at the buds.
Very wispy growth.
It felt so good to see & hear the water in the Santa Clara River, an unusual sight in mid-April.
It sounded lovely.
I spy with my little eye, a black crow way up high!
I left some inspiration for others on the trail. 🙂
May you see what's hidden
May you hear the beauty
May you share inspiration
What is hidden:
My bok choy seedlings are already sprouting up in my planter container with the rich, dark soil. Newly planted, tiny sproutings, hidden if you do not look closely.
Secondly: the neighbors next to me, they have only been here a little over a year and a half are moving. Their 7 yr old son is autistic, goes to a special school and is a high functioning autistic. We shared a special moment when he told me his name, Rowan, and I told him that my granddaughter's name is Rowena. He has a routine as he waits for the school bu;he runs around with a football, shouting " Touchdown Lobos". Lobos are the college football team for the University of New Mexico. He smiles shyly when I yell out , "Go Lobos" on the mornings that I sit out on my patio with tea or coffee. This exchange has been the sum extent of our conversations. Today, the doorbell rings and it is Rowan who has come to tell me that he is moving, that he will have new neighbors, that he is losing his best friend, that he now likes baseball, that he is sad to move. His mother comes and tells me that he needed to say these things to me and she said that he has never spoken so much to someone that he does not know..I am so touched and ask her if I can hug him and she says yes. I hug Rowan, whisper in his ear that I will miss him and tell him that he will make new friends. He holds still just for a moment then darts off...
What we cannot see, what we only fleetingly sense, what we cannot know is how we come across to a dear little boy. Today I saw what was hidden and it is beautiful and it is inspiring and I wish for Rowan, an elderly lady in his new neighborhood who will smile at him and yell, " Go team!"
Marti~ Such a beautiful story. May his new neighbors welcome him as you have. ❤️
it always delights me when I find painted stones in the world ... just think how many smiles you have created with this act of kindness
Liz~ Thanks Liz. I always hope I'm bringing joy and not just litter! ha
