Christmas is everywhere - my first stop motion animation

Hello everyone. As you'll see there was a reason why I didn’t show up for such a long time. I was working on a project that really needed every single part of my creativity to put together my very first (and surely not last) Stop motion animation film – Christmas is everywhere. If you feel curious and you love the old fashioned Christmas stories than click on the picture below...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3Pumn5KWNg

It all began in September 2015 when we were having a nice dinner with family & friends. We were talking about what we love doing and suddenly we realized that together we can make something special and the idea of making something for Christmas was just around the corner and inspired us. Of course we all knew we’ll not make it for the Christmas that was just about to come but for the next one. And so each one contributed with what he does best:

Matej Cernatič – lyrics and audio editing, mixing
Marko Vidmar – bass, back vocals, music arrangement, audio editing, mixing and mastering
Jure Francetič – music composition, guitar and vocals
Jagoda Ladynska Francetič – back vocals
Jana Korečič – scenography and video creator

I started to make this project in January 2015 and it took all year to complete it and to make the little family alive. Besides the stop motion animation video my husband's band created a brand

new Christmas song

to complete this creative package.

I worked on every prop except for the knitted parts. In fact my mom did all the knitting. I wanted them very much because in my opinion they gave to the home and the puppets a special warm feeling. My mom is an excellent knitter and so I’m very grateful that she contributed to this special Christmas project.

I had to make several sets and every set require a special attention to details. This kind of projects are really time consuming but in the end they really give a lot of satisfaction. For those who don’t know what is a stop motion animation I can try to explain it:

SMA is an animation technique that physically manipulates an object so that it appears to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a fast sequence. So for this almost 5 minutes film there were necessary 4721 photos and every next frame I needed to move the puppets and everything else was necessary to create the illusion of movement.

You know I was working with

Canvas Corp Brands

for several years now and  this projects is not an exception because I used many paints, mists, metal embellishment, fabrics and more from their range. I have to say a big thank you to this great team because they waited for me for a log time and believed that it was worth to. I enjoyed using their products that helped me enormously to make the sets come true!

In this post I wanted to dedicate this short film to everybody likes Christmas and to the ones that like the old fashioned Christmas stories. I want also to say a big thank you to all that make this video came true and contributed in any way to see it realized.
So, THANK YOU!!

I will surely do some posts in December with some special Behind the scenes moments so if you like the video don’t forget to come back!!!

And I wish a great advent to everyone because

Christmas is everywhere

and if you want to find out why, watch our video!!!!

Christmas frosty ball

Hello everyone! Christmas is just arround the corner and here is a little christmas ball I did using some of the 7 Gypsies embellishments. I make these kind of ornaments every year and each one has a different surprise inside but of course something that has a strong symbolism of Christmas.

This year the surprise is a frosty - glass tree. This is from the / Gypsies crystal collection but it's a perfect tiny prescious tree in my opinion.

Also the gear is from 7 Gypsies and the small piece of paper "DECEMBER 25" is from the Christmas collection from Canvas Corp. I also completed this "clock" with a resin semicircle that I did. It's much more prescious in this way and it gives an extra vintage scent.

The paper for the inside is also from Canvas Corp but the snowflake is a tiny treasure from my moms hands.

Enjoy Christmas time !

Christmas canvas

Hello! How are you? I hope you are already in the Christmas mood because there is just a month till Christmas and I think I'm probably late with my Christmas projects but anyway, here is the first one - my Christmas canvas:

The frosty background is made with Tattered Angels Glimmer mists in various shades of blue and white. I needed another product from TA that was really necessary for this snowy canvas: the High Impact Paint - of course White. The snowflakes are just toothpicked and I also snowed the brances coming out of the canvas with the same product but with just a pinh of baby powder to make it look even more real.
At Canvas Corp you can find a lot of Christmas paper and from the Christmas collection is also my tag.

Have you heard about the Canvas Corp printed canvas? In my opinion this is a must for this time. On a big piece of canvas printed with christmas symbols you can choose whatever you like the most. I decided for the reindeer, a bird and a skate but there are many more and they make projects so nice and warm.

From Canvas Corp are also the ropes/yarns. I just rolled red and white in a nice lollypop in the centre of canvas. Easy and effective!

I hope you like my Christmas Canvas. See you soon!

Christmas Fairytale Little Red Queen Christmas tree

Hello everyone. Let's continue our Christmas Fairytale with a super simple project! A cute christmas tree made up from.... christmas presents. Of course they are fake but don't tell anyone!!!

If you want to make this kind of tree you just have to glue together some sqares of cardboard and than wrap them in pattern paper. I used some really lovely red and white paper from Canvas Corp. I used some rope and some wire also from Canvas Corp to replace the classic ribbon.

The decoration s are up to you. I suggest small ones to keep the gifts visible.  Remember that you can make the packages in the size you want depending on what size you want your tree to be.

Christmas Fairytale Icy Tree

Here is my third project that continues the Christmas Fairytale. It's an icy looking tree but I would said that there is also a pinch of whimsical atmosphere because all that swirls, dots and stripes, don't you think.

I always want to make something in a new way and this time I used something that is typically for fall but in the end the tree looks a real winter queen. I decided to use the Sizzix Bigz Die - Tattered Leaves  and display them in the tree shape using a simple paper cone for the base. I've cut out many leaves from the Canvas Corp papers:  Farmhouse Christmas on Ivory, Blue &Ivory Ribbon Stripe, th Black &White Love Newsprint, the Tan &Ivory Mini Dot Reverse and I also cut the leave from the Tattered Angels Mistable Papers Soaker and Corduroy. Many leaves that make a nice dimension.

The base of the tree is made with cream burlap from Canvas Corp. It was only necessary to add a turquoise bow.

On the leaves, to make them stronger, I used the crackle paint, some white acrylic for the traces of snow and some glitter and small shiny stars.

I also made some swirly and put them in between the leaves to make the tree more intresting and full. Some of the swirls are enriched with the Dome Studs from 7Gypsies and I also glued on the tree some crystaly from the same brand.

The tag is from the Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory paper. You get a 12 x 12 with a lot of tags and use them in many projects. They are so nice!

An icy tree for you and me.....

Christmas fairytale Winter Wonderland Surprise ball

I'm back. I'm continuing the Christmas Fairytale and I have another Surprise ball to share with you. This one is Winter Wonderland...

As for the first one also this one is covered with some odl already ruined curtain and painted with some semitransparent acrylic paint and Champagne Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels will give  to the new creation an old look.

For the inside I got a big help from my mom. She did the tiny christmas tree and the snowflake. Both are enriched with crystals and the little tree has also the dome studs form 7Gypsies representing the Christmas ornaments. Alittle snowflake is floating arround the christmas treee helped with the wire from the metal hardware from Canvas Corp.  I also cut out a wreats from the same paper and put it on arround the button on the top of the ball.

I cut out the phrase from the Winter Wonderland out of the Stripe on Ivory paper and distressed it. I also added a pinch of glitter on every tiny snowflake. Also this time I used the canvas circle form Canvas Corp for the base where the tree is standing.

Also this time: to be continued....

Doubleside Christmas Ornament

Hello! Here we are, getting close to Christmas and of course to msking beatiful decorations for this season!!! Well, let's get started with a doubleside decor: Here it is:

I decided for a combination of the frosty blue and the warm red in a clean white background. I obviously used some Sizzix dies. In fact Sizzix has a huge range of Christmas dies and one is more beatiful and attractive than other!!! I think I have to make a loooot of projects to use them all! I think they have really a fairytale ingrediend and are perfect for me.  This time I opted for the Brenda Walton collection. Beside a marvelous die you get you also have a gorgeous storage box which is lovely!!! This ornament has the

Reindeer die cut

on the inside and the

Snowflake ornament die

on the back. Well, there is no really a front and the back because in any way it turns the eyes get a Christmasy atmosphere :-)

Do you want to make it?

Here

the video tutorial for you!
I hope you'll make it. See you soon!

Recycled ribbon rolls tree

I knew I would find an idea of how to use my empty ribbon rolls. They were in a box for a long time but finally they are well dressed for holidays. This recycled ribbon rolls tree is a simple idea but when you add some patterned paper, some holiday wishes and some rough crystals it gets a lot of personality and dimension.

I think this one enters in the top ten of my favorite trees. I hope you like it too :-)

Have fun searching for presents and backing for holidays!

Christmas can card

Hello! How are you? Do you also have all your home covered with glitter and tiny red balls? I do and I'm sure there some hovering waiting for me after sharing my christmas card 2011. I decided I wanted to do something else instead regular paper and like I've told you I found the can extremly inspiring. This one is a simple project but with a guaranteed effect. All you have to do is to paint an empty can. Take a paper and cut it to fit into the can and distress it using a regal Tattered angels glimmer screen. Complete using christmas stamps and embellishments. Tip: put some pieces of foam behind the glittered letters to make them pop out - it really makes the difference! Insert the key into the can top roll.

There's also a lot of space at the back of the can to write great christmas wishes. I hope you like the idea of my christmas can-cards. Have fun making your own cards and enjoy this great time.
