Watercolor For Cardmakers Intermediate Day two - Pattern On Pattern Card

This is possibly my last card for today, somebody has to clean do the housework and go shopping, eek (forgot about the shopping!). I need more hours in the day haha!

I used Spellbinders A2 Divine Eleoquence and Fancy Framed Framed Tags One. The sentiment is from House of Mouse, Mice Wishes by Stampendous and is stamped with Archival Jet Black ink. The string is from Hemptique.

Strecth Your Stamps 2 Form A Shape

Well I am now onto day 7 of Stetch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes, almost there. This one would have been nice and quick if I had thought to trim the stamp before I started lol. By the fourth go I'd figured it out lol. I used Distress inks going clockwise in Picked Rasberries, Festive Berries, Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Seedless Preserves. I also used Hemptique Twine, Hampton Art embossing powders, versamark, Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Circles and some foam tape.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Easy Watercolour Outline and Debossing

So we are at my second card from day 5 of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes and I have chosen to use an Mpress stamp set, same flower again I know lol. It looks good what can I say?  I used Distress inks in Pine Needles and Aged Mahogany for the flower and Tumbled Glass for the border. I have used some Hemtique Twine and a Buttuerfly border punch I have for the itty butterflys. Really need to start writing on my dies what brand they are . . . I coloured the butterflys with Aged Mahogany so they tied in with the flower and sentiment from Whimsy Stamps.

Stretch Your Stamps 2 Multi Coloured Embossing

Onto day five of Stretch Your Stamps 2 at Online Card Classes. For this card I used Embossing powders I got a very long time ago in tiny little vials from Spotlight. Unfortunately the red has a tendency to soak into cardstock but I don't have another red in that deep shade so I used it anyway lol. I used Spelbinder Gold Labels Four, Hemptique Black Twine, Herot Arts White Embossing Powder, Hampton Art Footlong Thank You stamps, a corner rounder and my Ebosser for die cutting.

Something For Teacher With Sandylion Stickers

I thought I would try for a more CAS project this week and I had the perfect stickers for the theme. The only trouble I had was finding a table svg so I found this free file here and imported it into SCAL 3. As it would have cut all those lines I made a shadow layer and cut that out instead. I used a white cs base with a very light cream matte on top of that. Anything darker made the table fade into the background. The stickers are all from Sandlylion and have foam dots behind them already to pop them off the card. You can see the shadows from them being raised off the card below.
Both the table and the blackboard background are cut from a brown batik paper that I thought would work well as wood :). I used Lifestyle Crafts nesting squares to cut the table and blackboard background. I stamped a Thank You from an Inkadinkado set with Cotton White Opaque Stazon. I added a square of cs under the batik layer of the blackboard to reinforce it so I could add some very thin foam tape underneath. The twine is from hemptique

The best bit is I have enough stickers left in this set to make a girly back to school or graduation card :) I hope you like my more simplified project this week for Eclectic Ellapu !

PS sorry I have been so absent of late! I have had a whole lot going on plus I just got alcohol markers and have been busy learning a whole new skill set. I started with promarkers and trias, then I got lucky and someone was selling an almost complete set of Ciao's on ebay that got here on Tuesday. I have been colouring up a storm! Need to make use of some of those images so I can show you!

Pattern Play Day 5 Paper Weaving With Crate Paper

For this card I used leftover strips from my first attempt at day one which I haven't posted yet lol. They just need sentiments. The strips are from Crate Papers Random paper pad. I used a scrap piece of cardstock to adhere my strips to as I weaved. I really liked Jennifer McGuire's Bonus day card she made by just rounding two corners of her shapes and decided I would do that on a larger scale. I followed this through with the card as well. The rounder is just one from my local Office Works store.
I kept wrecking the banners I was making for this card so in the end I totally changed what I was going to do and added buttons instead of the Enamel accents I was going to use. The buttons on the banner are tied  with pink Hemptique twine that I got in a cool multi pack of 10-12 colours. (I learnt I need to keep them in a zip lock back to keep them clean! They were getting filthy rolling around in the craft box I take to a friends lol).
I also added a little heart button in the corner. Wish I had had the twine brain wave before I glued it down lol. Anyways woohoo I did all 5 days of Pattern Play. I still have the other attempt at day one to blog about too :)

Prima Nature Garden Milled Lavender Card

Just a little share first! I have been featured on the Joyful Stampers Inspire Me Fridays blog! Click Here to go see :) I am doing a happy dance! On to the card lol.

I really need to start working on my cards earlier lol. My clean and "simple" card turned into a nightmare when I kept killing my watercoloured image lol. I started with my card base. I used Neenah Solar White for this card. First time I have used this as a card base. I stamped the base with an Mpress Doily stamp set with Milled Lavender Distress Ink and built up from there lol . . .

On some watercolour paper I stamped the girl from Primas Nature Garden stamp set in Archival Jet Black. I coloured with a bunch of Distress Markers by using them on my Ranger Craft Sheet and then adding water to lighten the colour. I used my Tim Holtz waterbrush unfilled so I didn't over saturate the paper. The colours I used are Milled Lavender of course, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, Vintage Photo, Brushed Corduroy, Scattered Straw, Antique Linen, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Pine Needles.

Next I searched for some cs to cut a Lifestyle Crafts Doily out of and then cut a small labels die out of the neenah cs and the medium one from watercolour paper. I used the large one from that set to cut my image out. I stamped the small label with another Mpress doily, then with a sentiment from the TPC Studio set Playful Expressions.I then edged it with some more milled lavender. With the medium label I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss it and then used milled lavender on it with my distress tool.

Next up I coloured some Hemptique white twine with the distress ink pad and my ink blending tool by repeatedly pulling the string between the pad and the tool til I got the desired colour. A great way to colour twine to perfectly suit a project. Just don't forget it dries lighter lol. I could hve cut a length first but I found it easier to hold on to the spool.

I stuck some double sided tape on the back of my image and used it to hold the twine in place while I wrapped it around three times and tied it off. I used my Crop-a-dile to set a small eyelet in my label with the sentiment and added three more pieces of twine to that.

I used Multi-Medium Matte to glue the doily down, foam tape on the image and the sentiment label and xpress it for the bottom label. I am learning more every time I colour :) I won this prima stamp set early last year and had yet to crack it open. Such a pretty image, I need to use it more!!!
Thanks for stopping bye.
