Jump Ball on High Street

Seen near "The Elevator" on High Street in downtown Columbus. I don't really think it's supposed to represent a "jump ball", but that's what it looked like to me.

The Great Indoors

My nephew Adam and I had a contest, shooting photos inside "The Great Indoors" store. Last year Adam was warned by security to stop taking photos in there. We thought it would be fun to have this contest, and one of the rules would be that if you were called out by security you'd be disqualified. Now we're waiting for Adam to upload his entries in this contest so that the voting can begin. Ahem.

Flying!

While in Columbus, my old buddy Dave Gamble invited Adam (my nephew) and me to go flying. It was a blast!

This was taken just after doing a loop and a roll.

Short North Fever...

... or was it just hot? I spent the day in the "Short North" district of Columbus, OH today. It's "Gallery Hop" weekend so boy was it rockin'. I honestly can't believe the crowds they get out for Gallery Hop. It's amazing... thousands. I actually heard a comedian on the radio recently make a joke about Columbus as if it were an unsophisticated cow-town. I doubt he's been to Columbus lately.

The Prancing Horse

Seen at Easton Town Center, Columbus. I can't help but notice that every time I go to Easton I see some sort of super-hot car parked in very conspicuous parking spot. How long do these guys have to drive around the block before they get these parking slots?

Smith & Wollensky

I shot this a couple of weeks ago in Columbus... I'm just getting around to posting it. I have walked by this scene many times but the colors and the time of day made me stop and notice this time.

Uncommon Cold

I went to Columbus today to photograph these nice people inside a deep freeze room with a vast collection of ice cores. When I got there, I asked them just how cold it was in that room and they said "about minus 20". "Excuse me?" I was expecting it to be just below freezing. I had no idea if my camera gear would even work in there. The camera gear was less trouble than my fingers which started hurting real bad after about 15 minutes. Poor Dr. Thompson's nose turned white but he's used to it. That's me on the right saying "We're done... why are we still in here??" Thanks to Jack Houvouras for manning the camera to get a shot of me. At first Jack said he wasn't even going in there, but then he proved his manhood and stayed in there just as long as any of us.

Easton Shopping Trip

I'm in Columbus doing a little shopping. I didn't shoot too many pictures today. The dull gray sky wasn't exactly inspiring. Here are some door handles from Anthropologie, and some doodads from Sur la Table. After I shot that last picture, I realized it was familiar.

Shopping scenes...

A few miscellaneous scenes found around Easton Town Center in Columbus...

Very few people didn't stop to take a look at the Lamborghini.

The Harley V-Rod drew some stares too.
