City Water

I just happened to notice the nice reflections in a fountain in the plaza of some generic office building on Sixth Avenue in New York.

Spamalot!

We went to see Spamalot on Broadway. I was wondering how great it would be since I already knew all the jokes from Holy Grail, but there was sooo much more. There was always a hundred funny things going on on stage at all times. I can't remember when I laughed so much. In the last shot, that's me third one down.

MoMA

This last one I shot for Clayton. ;-)

A little piece of home in The Big Apple

So, I'm walking down 6th Avenue in New York and I look up at the International Center of Photography and I say "Good grief that looks like Poca, WV". I walk up close and look at the little label at the bottom of this huge photographic panel and it says "John Amos Power Plant, Raymond, WV". Raymond City is right next to Poca. I grew up almost within site of that power plant. This one's for Don Surber.

Top of the Rock

We went to the top of Rockefeller Center this evening. It really is a great view and at 7pm there were no lines to stand in.

Hanging out at the Javits Center

I was killing some time waiting for a seminar to start and I decided to take some different photos by putting the camera on the floor.

PhotoPlus Expo 2006

Part of the reason I love to come to New York in November... a really big trade show at the Javits Center for commercial photographers like me.

In the shadow of the Chrysler building...

... Grand Central Terminal.

C.O. Bigelow

Do you buy those C.O. Bigelow cosmetic products in the fancy store at the mall? Here's the original store on 6th Ave. in Greenwich Village. I was surprised that they are still filling prescriptions in there.

More Guggenheim

I believe this fellow above is one of the crew working on the restoration of the building.
No problems uploading to Blogger this afternoon.

More from Bryant Park

Bryant Park and the New York Public Library are right across from my hotel. There's lots to see there.

I've had to create a workaround to get images up on Blogger. I can't upload to Blogger in the normal way so I'm uploading to my own domain and linking.

Greenwich Village Halloween Parade

Well... we tried. More people than usual showed up for the Halloween parade this year. We couldn't get close. We really didn't see the parade at all. We got crushed in the crowd and ended up very near a big fight that was broken up by the police. It was an interesting exerience anyway.

Guggenheim New York

It's been a long time since I was in the Guggenheim. I think it might have been college days. It looks so small now. How trite. The exterior is swathed in scaffolding now for renovations. The interior that you can visit is limited but you can still get a few shots showing Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece. I have more, but I'm still having a lot of trouble uploading to Blogger.

Brooklyn Bridge from the East River

Took an evening cruise. This photo isn't that great but considering it's a time exposure on a moving boat it's pretty darn good!

At the Met....

We spent Sunday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Above is Rodin's Balzac... below is Balzac's back.

They don't allow photos in most of the exhibits but these sculpture areas are ok.

Blogger problems

Still having trouble uploading photos to Blogger.

At the Met

Blogger isn't letting me upload images now. [sigh] I tried last night and this morning. Come back later and I'll have more photos of New York.

New York City

Just rolled into New York this evening. Near the hotel (in the Garment District) is Bryant Park and this huge Halloween costume store! I'll try to get some good photos this week.
