Kind Words Expressed

Verve photo PDCpicA.jpg

Loved this CCMC sketch and decided to use it for this week's Play Date Cafe colour combo of black and white plus a splash of coral.  Love adding a pop of colour to a black and white card!

Kept things pretty CAS.  Pulled out the flower from Kind Words (love this flower!) and inked the "center" on each flower.  Added a sentiment from Words Can Not Express (which just happens to be on sale right now) and a coral button. Quick and easy.

With the kids on spring break, it may get a bit quieter her on the old blog as we will be out and about a fair amount, or working on a few projects we need to get done around the house.  Just hoping the weather cooperates and gives us a little bit of sunshine so we can enjoy being outside a bit.  But not to much sunshine or I'll have to mow my lawn LOL!

Have a fabulous day, and I'll be back as soon as I can.

Hugs

Valentine's

Since this fun Carta Bella's Devoted paper was still on my desk, I decided to use it for another card.

Pulled out this old CCMC sketch, my beloved Jotted Heart die from Verve, PTI tag die, and a few punches, and went to work.  Just love this "hugs" sentiment and it was a perfect fit for the tag sentiment on the heart :)

The clean out binge continues and I have a large load for the Salvation Army as well as a big run to the recycle depot with old electronics.  Love it when I am in a search and destroy mood as there is no time for the sentimental side to get in the way (aka: keeping things I don't use or really need).  Onward and forward I go LOL!

Have a fabulous day!

CCMC Sketch

CCMC

Loved this fun sketch on the Create with Connie and Mary blog so decided to play along this week.

I flipped through my nesties and Labels 10 die was the best option in my possession.  I paired it with their poinsettia die (love this die!!) and brought out my Swiss Dots embossing folder for a bit of texture.

Since this isn't an overly large sized Labels die, it makes a rather small card. However, I could also see this being used as a place setting card with a person's name instead of the Christmas salutation, or even as a really fancy tag.

Thanks for popping in today!  Always appreciate the company :)

Yet Another Valentine's Day Card

Loved this sketch by Create with Connie and Mary from a week or so ago and turned it into another Valentine's Day card.  Don't worry, I'm almost done now LOL!  I have always loved hearts so Valentine's Day cards have always been one of my favorite type of cards to create.  This one was no exception.

Wanted to keep things on the clean and simple side and am happy with the result.  I experimented with crimping the heart to see what it would look like and I love it (okay...it's official.....my crimper has become my newest addiction LOL!).  The crimping adds some wonderful texture and depth to the heart and helps it stand out against the embossed hearts panel.  A little button with some silver twine was my finishing touch.   Nice and easy and I like it.  Think this may end up being my daughter's card as she's a pink, pink girl and very feminine (unlike her mother LOL!).

Have a fabulous day and don't forget to tell those near and dear to you that you love them.  It will make their day.

Connie and Mary Go Green

I was blurfing the other day and tripped across this fun sketch on Create with Connie and Mary's blog.  Loved the layout and decided to combine it with this week's Stamping 411's Colour Inspiration Challenge.  Thank you to all you talented stampers who share your sketches and colour combo creations on line.  I would be lost without you!!

I was having a hard time with just three colours when two of them were greens, but the black accents helped balance things off.  I fudged the sketch a bit by adding the second flower, so hopefully the challenge police will not come after me.

I succumbed to yet another card with some Vintage Vogue on it.....think I need one of my kids to hide this set so I don't keep using it LOL!  I originally had a butterfly (my other obsessive addiction right now) by the sentiment with a butterfly trail, but I couldn't settle on the colour of half pearls for the trail so I went with the flowers instead.  What can I say, it was late and I couldn't make a decision for the life of me LOL!

Have a fabulous day :)
