Hi Chaps,
This weekend has gone quickly but it has been a bit of a delight on the hobby front. My local model shop, Transport models of Preston are having a sale with 25% off everything. Naturally I was impressed and bought the beginnings of a Sigmar Bretonnioan army in the form of two Fireforge boxes of European medieval types.
Previously I have put together hundreds of plastic 28mm and 20mm figures but for some reason these little b#####ds just did not co operate. The fault is all mine...it could have been my cheap superglue or just my poor performance but assembling these 36 figures took longer and was much more frustrating than I imagined. Parts flew off never to be seen again and the glue refused to join anything other than my own flesh and then it was to everything!
Oh well there are lessons to be learned from todays experience but I have not processed what just yet. I did buy a spray tin of Humbrol German red brown to undercoat with so this is my first experiment with anything other than black or white.
The last hobby problem I face is a strange one! My cabinets are full! What to do? I certainly wont be purchasing any cabinets soon as they tend to be expensive so it is either storage or ebay for the less used/loved figures....now I just need Fireforge to release the promised Bretonnian mounted knights and this army (with a few bits I already have) will be complete.
I do hope you have all had a good weekend? If you have any tips on building a gaming PC I would appreciate it as I am trying to get one for my son but my kidney money went to Games Workshop already!
Keep blogging guys I need your adventures to read whilst at work.
A blog on my wargaming activities, including painting, purchases and thoughts.

Bretonnian, Lion Rampant medieval, Age of Sigmar.
Hi Chaps,
The packing continues at a leisurely pace as the date for the move seems to disappear into the distance every time I speak to a solicitor.....it is not rocket science but....
Anyway as I was packing this morning I took some pictures of my medieval force. To be honest this could be Bretonnian, medieval, Dragon Rampant etc it is very versatile.
On order are a few more figures and a character model from Black Tree Designs who are running a sale and are well worth a look at as their ranges are large and interesting.
http://eoeorbisuk.com/
The link should take you to the homepage, I will use them to finish this Bretonnian army as they have Damsels and spearmen-I have no idea what their delivery time is like as they are new to me.
Building this army has cost less or around £5 a week for a couple of months, buying by the unit has filled my painting time and ensured that I do not acquire a plastic mountain. By staying focused and not having the choice of figure or unit to paint has meant that I have actually produced half an army quickly.
In waiting are a further 20 Bretonnian bowmen (bought from ebay) which were unpainted and for me a real find. Once my Damsel is painted I suppose this could be considered a complete smallish army but I doubt I will be able to leave anything that crops up on ebay in the future.
To fight these chaps I have the start of an Elvish army currently 47 figures strong and in camp waiting for reinforcements. Somehow I have acquired some camp followers and villagers as well as a few Frostgrave figures and monsters.....indeed a small world is growing on my shelves!
Keep blogging Chaps!

Mounted Serjeants
As you can see the last six figures of my recently acquired medieval s are almost complete. This little side project crept up on me so it is back to saving my meagre sheckles for a boxed set from GW. With 30 infantry and 6 cavalry painted and based I still need another 12 cavalry to complete a Lion Rampant crusader army so it will be a while before that purchase is made.
To be going on with I have 16 Israeli infantry to paint in 20mm and a few bad guys. Possibly more middle east modern terrain will be made but the internet and its wonderful photo's of amazing figures is proving a huge distraction.
Keep blogging Chaps and keep sharing your hints and tips I literally feed off them!

Painting Everything!
Hi Chaps,
This week I had intended to paint up some IDF 20mm but they are still in transit as is the Grubby technical....so I had a rumage and found some 5th edition Bretonnian archers. A quick visit to my local hobby store and bought some Deus Vult Teutonic infantry guessing that they would match.
I think that they will mix in OK ? Anyway I have another couple of units to paint up and it would seem that an accidental project may have started, happily these guys will work for Lion/Dragon Rampant, Age of Sigmar and almost anything else medieval, (though I need to find 2 more archers on ebay to have a full unit!).
Please do excuse my desk which will have the tidying of a lifetime after this post but I really have been scratching around for something to paint. I did find 3 old Space Marines that someone had painted a very thick black (with what I have no idea) so I decided to paint a test figure. He turned out OK and any future old Marines that accidentally come my way will be painted in this scheme.
So that was my week, a no show from the postie but it turned out pretty productive anyway. The next big project will have to be a display cabinet to plop my little armies into as my bookcase is now full of zombies and 30K figures.....200 painted this year so far.
Have a good weekend Chaps and keep blogging.
I am off to tidy my desk before the RSM (read wife) sees it.

Unusual Bidowers Complete!
Hi Chaps,
The last of my fanatical Bidowers are now complete thanks to the arrival of a 1 metre length of tiny chain from Poland. For the princely sum of £2.90 delivered this chain will have many uses, from securing loads to holding prisoners in my miniature world.
These photos have a strange bluish tinge, probably because I took the pics outside? Anyway I hope you get the idea of how they look. In time I will complete the remaining four figures, they came with books and extras on the sprues...who would have guessed it-value for money from Games Workshop?
On a guilty note I bought a pack of Plague Doctors from Wargames Foundry (the only miniature manufacturer I can think of that is more expensive than GW for no apparent reason)....These mini's were £16 for five (and a wheelbarrow) and are by far the most expensive 28mm that I have bought so far. It will be a long time before Foundry get any more of my money but they do make some interesting figures....doomed.

Medieval Perry Miniatures, beer and glue
Hi Chaps,
I hope you have all had a decent week of hobby filled stuff? This week has seen a new personal best in the number of plastic minis assembled-almost 100! Two boxes of Perry infantry, one of horse and a couple of boxes from GW.
The Warhammer fantasy stuff is actually going to form part of my medieval army...flagellants were a thing at the time of the Black Death so its close enough to have 6 as a unit of bidowers! Maybe I should be planning a Dragon Rampant army instead?
These little chaps are full of detail which make them hard for me to paint, more frustrating and time consuming than plain metal 28's but it is satisfying to complete a unit (12 or 6 figures for Lion Rampant). Despite not being huge units they do look right once grouped together.
My painting table looks like a war zone (unintentionally) and I have burned thousands of carbs bending down for bits of figures that always seem to either fall from between my chubster fingers or fly off the sprue. To replace said carbs I drank some home brew which calmed the nerves but strangely brought on a mild headache after the fifth.
As a change of pace I may try a smaller scale just so I can actually get a game in! DBA would be the rules of choice....does anyone game with this set in the smaller scales?
Thanks for looking, more archers and crossbowmen are on the bench, have a good weekend with whats left of it.

Lion Rampant
Hi,
Just a quick update on my Wars of the Roses Perry figures.
They are hard to paint!
Is it just me or does anyone else find these little chaps a tad small and full of detail? It is taking me an age to make progress which is a shame as I really want to try out the Lion Rampant rule set.In order to turn this into a marathon I will order the Mercenary box set because I really would like some pikemen painted up as Scots....
So, mounted crossbowmen, halberds and bowmen await me on the desk, my respite from these intricate figures are some zombies. For every three or four Perries I treat myself to a couple of zeds which are so easy it feels like speed painting!
The Perry twins once helped me date a halberd of my fathers (strange thing to have around the house...) and they were really helpful despite being busy, nice chaps who have really helped most gamers in their pioneering of plastic production. Now back to the medieval 28mm world of difficult figures to paint figures!
