Some Bunny Special

This Easter will be my granddaughter's first Easter, and we can't be more excited.    So of course being the grandma that I am I had to sit down and make an outfit for her.  I didn't want anything fancy - after all Ocean is a beach and sand baby.  (In case you couldn't tell by the name)  For that reason I wanted simple and cute.

Using one of the cap sleeve dress blanks from Hobby Lobby I chose to applique the dress with the Easter Bunny Applique from Stinkin' Cute Applique.   Okay, well, I didn't choose.  My daughter did.  I sent her pictures of a few different bunny designs and this was the one she settled on.

My daughter also loves to put headbands on Ocean.  Not the ones with the bows as big as her head, but the small, simple ones.  And they look great on her.  So with that in mind I had to make this adorable bunny ear headband I found over at the Applique Corner to go with the dress.  To ensure that the two went together I used the same fabric for the Easter basket on the dress as I did for the headband.

But wait, that's not all.  😁  I also made an Easter card that matches with her outfit.  That's right.  Marjorie Ann Designs has an SVG file titled You're Eggstra Sweet that compliments the applique.  Pretty nifty, huh?

The stamped sentiment on the card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Honey Bunny.

Yep, I just love it when my crafting passions can collide so wonderfully.....

Happiness Enclosed

I have an Easter card that I'd like to share with you today.  I made this one using the Easter Bear file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  I've had this file in my stash since last year when it was given as a freebie in her FB group Free SVG's ~ Games & More ~ Marjorie Ann Designs.  Not sure why I waited so long to use it because it pieces together nicely and he's cute as can be.

When putting my card together I decided to also pull another sketch from my stash to use.  It's another one I've had for a while but haven't used until now.  At first I wasn't sure if I like the colors and such but the more I look at the card the more I like it.

The stamped sentiment I used is from the Craftin Desert Divas stamp set Happy Thoughts.

Hopping By

Easter is only a month away so I thought I'd get started on some Easter projects.  Today I'd like to share a card I made using the recently released Ginger Loves Easter set.

If you've followed my blog over the past year or so you have probably noticed that I am a sucker for Marjorie Ann Designs' gingers.  There's not a single ginger that doesn't scream out "make me! make me!".   😀

For this ginger, I decided to use a card sketch that I've only used once before (and that time it was an Easter card too).  I thought it would be perfect to showcase this svg design and I think that it did so beautifully.

Now I will admit that when I decided to use this particular card blank I had no idea that I was going to be in for some trouble.  (Guess that'll teach me that all deals are really deals.)  After putting my card together and adding my sentiment I noticed that the ink was not drying.  I let it sit as I always do, but it still smudged after several minutes of dry time.  That meant I had to add some extra elements to my card that I did not originally anticipate.

My sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Honey Bunny.  As you can see I ended up stamping it onto a piece of regular cardstock and then adhered it to the card.  I also added some blue skittles from DoubleClick Connections to finish it off.

So while these elements weren't planned for my card everything turned out okay in the end.....

Easter Bear

I having some exciting news to share with you today!  My friend Marge from Marjorie Ann Designs is now creating embroidery/applique files!  And the best part is that she's creating them from characters  we already know and love.  For example, this adorable Easter Bear, who is now available in the Stinkin Cute Applique shop on Etsy.

Last year I was making cards using a file that included this cutie so when I saw him as an applique file I just knew that I had to have him.  I had this white, cap sleeve dress from Hobby Lobby sitting in my stash just waiting for the perfect applique file to be embroidered on it.  Well, this is it.

The design was easy to follow and stitched out beautifully.

After stitching out my dress I had to go back and make a matching card to go with it.  The SVG is from the Have a Beary Happy Easter file, and it comes with several cute Easter bears that can be made.  You can even get this Easter bear as a digital stamp or a shaped card.

How's that for variety?  This adorable Easter bear - available in four different formats.  It doesn't get much better.  I mean I'm really excited about being able to craft across the different platforms.

Oh wait, before I forget (see I got so excited I almost forgot), the sentiment on my card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Funny Bunny.  The purple twilight skittles are from DoubleClick Connections.

Easter Cross

Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you.  I've never made a lot of Easter projects but this year I made several items and enjoyed them all.  For today's card I used the Cross of Easter card from My Scrap Chick.  However, since I have a pack of card bases I didn't have a need to use the one in this file.

For the stamped sentiment I used the Easter Blessings stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

Easter Bunny Treat Box

Welcome to another Cardz TV 3D challenge.  Today we are creating either a treat box or bag for Easter.

For my project I used the Bunny Display Box from the Silhouette Design Store.  It was a quick and easy one to piece together.  And I love the way that the designer made sure to complete the box by including the bunny's tail end for the back.

My stamped sentiment is from the Happy Days stamp set that you can purchase here.

And now that you have seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other projects that our amazing design team has created for you.  Then after you've taken in all that inspiration create your 3D treat box or bag and share it with us.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Easter Scene

Today I thought I'd do something a little bit different and create a fun scene/picture for Easter. I had a lot of fun playing around and creating this too.

So here's what I did.  I used:
  • the Mickey & Friends cartridge for the sun
  •
  • the Easter cartridge for the grass, basket, eggs and grey bunnies; and finally
  •
  • the Simply Charmed cartridge for the tree, birds, and baby in the bunny outfit
I ran the bunny outfit and my two little grey colored bunnies through my Xyron and then covered them with a bit of flocking to add some texture.  It doesn't show up well in the picture but you can see it in real life.

Then I decided to emboss the tree trunk to add a touch of a different kind of texture.

And of course I had to cut a couple of extra Easter eggs to "hide" in the grass because what's an Easter scene without some hidden eggs?

Now I'm off to enter my project into the following challenges this week:

DL Art - Easter - Ends March 23rd

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Easter - Ends March 27th

DoubleClick Connections - Use a bunny, basket or eggs - Ends March 29th

Bunny Bakset

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I have a shaped card that I'd like to share with you today.  It's a recently released file from Marjorie Ann Designs titled Hoppy Easter.

I used a pre-embossed paper from a mat stack I found at Michael's as my card base.  The stack is called Embossed Brights from a company named Craft Smith.

On the inside of my card I used the Easter Splatter stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

And that's it, another quick and easy card.

Ears To You

Today is day two of the Easter Facebook Hop featuring Easter files from Marjorie Ann Designs.

If you haven't yet hopped with us you should come on over and join in the fun.  It all starts at the Marjorie Ann Designs Facebook page.

For today's project I chose to create a card using the Easter Friends - Owls file.  I always love Marjorie's owl files and this one is no exception.  They're always easy to piece together and come out looking adorable.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Jaded Blossom set titled Funny Bunny.

I also decided to embellish my card with a couple of Meadow Green skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

Now come on over to Facebook and hop along with us.

Easter Facebook Hop

Marjorie Ann Designs is hosting an Easter hop over on Facebook today and tomorrow.  You should come on over and join in the fun.  There will be games and freebies along the way.  And the fun begins on Marjorie Ann Designs Facebook page.

For my hop project I created Easter treat boxes for the secret pals at work.  Since everyone knows I craft I can't make anything for just my pal so I create a little something, something for everyone.

To create these boxes I used two different Marjorie Ann Designs files:  Marshmallow Bear Easter Fun and Beary Happy Easter.  The latter of the two is a new file that is being released today so be sure to hop on over to Marjorie Ann Design's website and check it out.

The treat boxes are the gable boxes from Jaded Blossom.

My stamped sentiments are from the stamp set Spring Signs, also from Jaded Blossom.  This is a new to me set and is the first time that I have used them.

And now I'm off to enter my treat boxes into the following challenges:

Jaded Blossom - Something New - Ends April 2nd

DL Art - Easter - Ends March 23rd

Easter Treat Cup

A couple weeks ago one of my crafty friends, Lisa Pontious, posted a project on Facebook that she made and I fell in love with it so much that I had to try it.  Fortunately she gave directions on how she made her treat cup holders.  Following her directions I sat down with my Silhouette and created my own version of her hatching chick.

For a first time attempt at creating a file in Silhouette it's not too bad.  Since I didn't have any Easter candy in the house I filled the treat cup with some skittles.

My stamped sentiment is from the Happy Easter set from My Craft Spot.  Unfortunately for us crafters they are no longer making/selling stamps.  But there are still other great companies out there that are!

Happy Easter

I have another Easter card to share today.  This one was created using one of the adorable Marshmallow Bears from the Marshmallow Bear Easter Fun file at Marjorie Ann Designs.  There are six different bears dressed up as lambs and chicks in this file and each one is just as cute as can be.

The stamped sentiment that I used on my card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Funny Bunny.

Since I used my Creative Memories Serene photo mats for the background papers I decided to also embellish my card using skittles from DoubleClick Connections.  These are the purple twilight skittles.

A Hoppy Hello

Today I have an Easter card to share with you.  Only it doesn't really have to be an Easter card.  It could be a friendly stopping by to say hi card.  (insert smiley face)

I created this card using the Sweet Baby Bunny and the Ornate Card Base 3 files from SVG Cutting Files.

My background paper is from Creative Memories.  It's a customer gift set that I won in a blog challenge a while back.  This set is the Serene photo mats.  As you can see though I'm using it for something other than photos.

The stamped sentiment is from the recently released Funny Bunny stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

Thanks for stopping by, and now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

SVG Cutting Files - Crafter's Choice - Ends March 14th

Hoppy Easter

For my first Easter card of the season I really wanted to use a new card sketch that I'd seen.  Then I thought this Juggling Eggs file from Marjorie Ann Designs would be perfect to use.  The file is a freebie for those who are members of the Free SVG's ~ Games & More Facebook page.

The papers that I used for this card are from a Creative Memories photo mat pack called Dreamy.  I won this and a couple of other packs from a challenge a while back and almost forgot that I had them.

The stamped sentiment is from a discontinued stamp set by MayMay Made it called Mr. Big Ears.

And before I forget, here's the sketch that I followed for my card.  It's so easy and I have seen a lot of gorgeous cards using this sketch.

Easter Friends

Today I have my last Easter project of the year to share with you.  The card is new but the basket I made a couple weeks back and decided to use as a "prop" with my card.  They both were made using the same Easter Tweets file from Marjorie Ann Designs so of course I had to.

As you can tell the basket is paper pieced while the chick on my card is print 'n cut.  That's one of the things I love about the files from Marjorie Ann Designs.  Every one comes with clip art in addition to the piece files.

For the card though I also used one of the ornate card bases from SVG Cutting Files.  I think that this base file adds elegance to the overall look of the card.

For the basket itself I used the Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Best Friends stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

And now I'm off to enter this in to the following challenges:

Any Holiday - Hiding in My Craft Room - ends April 4th

Easter - Jaded Blossom - ends April 4th

Hippity, Hoppity

Today I have an Easter card that I'd like to share with you.  I created this one using one of the designs from the Silhouette store.  This one is Design ID #57047 by Sarah Bailey.

My stamped sentiment is from the Happy Easter stamp set by My Craft Spot.

And now I'm off to enter this in to the following challenge:

Any Holiday - Hiding in My Craft Room - ends April 4th

Coloring Easter Eggs

Hooray it's Friday!  I've been waiting for this day all week!  It's just been a very long one and I'm ready to have no commitments for a couple of days.

And it's also time for another Cardz TV Cards challenge.  This week we're creating Easter cards.  Use any icon/symbol or whatever so long as the theme is Easter.

For my card I chose to use this adorable bunny that is part of the digital Cricut cartridge Seasonal Characters.  There's only like four or five characters on this cartridge but they're all as cute as can be.

My stamped sentiment is from the Happy Days stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.  And now that you've seen my take on the challenge be sure to check out the other cards our team has created.  Then after you're filled with inspiration create your own Easter card, link up and play along with us.

I can't wait to see what you create.

You're Eggs-tra Special

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Today I have another Easter card that I'd like to share with you.  This one I  designed by following the sketch that you'll see at the end of my post.  It's one I've had in my arsenal for a while but have not used until now.  I guess I was waiting for the 'perfect' card.

For today's card I used the file My First Easter Egg Hunt from Marjorie Ann Designs.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Happy Easter from My Craft Spot (which has recently closed for business.)

The skittles I used are from DoubleClick Connections. Sadly it looks like I picked my colors to coordinate with the papers too well because you can't see where the one begins and the other ends in the picture.  I used a shell pink, meadow, and purple twilight.

And this is the sketch I followed for this adorable card.

Easter Charger

Hello everyone.  Today I have an Easter project that I'd like to share with you.  While looking through some of my stash I came across a charger plate that wasn't red and thought it might actually work for an Easter project so I went finding and putting together the perfect cuts.

For this project I used the Your Eggstra Sweet file from Marjorie Ann Designs for my bunny rabbit and her candy and I used the Easter Wreath from Treasure Box Designs for the eggs, leaves and 'flowers' encircling my charger.

When putting the bunny together I decided to pop dot her cheeks and then when I realized I needed some whiskers I went back to the Morning Coffee file from Marjorie Ann Designs and cut a set from there.

Given the size of all my cuts this was an extremely easy project to put together and I love the way it turned out.  So much so that I just might have to keep this one all to myself instead of gifting it.

Here's a close up of that cute little bunny.....

And now I'm off to enter this into the following challenge:

Doubleclick Skittles - Animal Challenge - Ends March 3rd

Hoppy Easter

Today I have a project for you that I put together using a combination of Cricut and SVG files.  I love creating 3D projects and my craft room is beginning to overflow with them as I have yet to find home for a lot of what I've been creating.  Oh well they'll just sit on display until I find a good home that will love receiving them as much as I do making them.

So for today's project I created a card and a mini Easter basket.  The basket itself is from the Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  The cute little chickies and bunnies are from the SVG file title Easter Tweets by Marjorie Ann Designs.

For my card I used the same SVG file and also added some grass that I cut from two different Cricut cartridges - Sports Mania and Plantin Schoolbook.

The stamped sentiment is from the Mr. Big Ears stamp set by MayMay Made It.
