Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #39

It's time again to share a few photos of our current projects with the Sassy ladies over on Sassy Cheryl's blog. Each week we share what we're working on and Cheryl randomly selects one entry for a FREE image giveaway!

So, this week's project is a wall collage for my niece. Since she is 2000 miles away, I decided to put together a photo collage for her nursery. I am including some blocks with Alaskan animals and such. The first photo shows the photo sleeve and a few items already together.

The second photo shows my desk and the pieces I still plan to get into the sleeves. It's a labor of love and may take a few more days to complete. Then I have to gently fold it and get it into a priority mailing box and send it to my sister.

Thanks for stopping by this week! It's been busy at my house so I'm running a little behind with my post!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #78

Judy is our hostess this week over on the Sassy Cheryl Digi Stamp Challenge Blog. Judy's challenge is a color combo of Lavender, White and Green. The image I used this week is one of Cheryl's newer images called "Cup of Cocoa". I think she is so adorable in this big comfy chair with her cup of cocoa! Of course, I had to paper piece the chair and pillows. The little girl part of the image was colored with Copic Markers.

The flowers and leaf flourish are die-namics from My Favorite Things. The card base was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug emboss folder and sanded. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Like It a Latte".

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #77 - Stitching

This week Jeni has challenged us to use stitching with our Sassy Cheryl digital images. I chose to use this sweet image by Cheryl called "April Showers". I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. The image was paired with papers from Echo Park For the Record paper stack. The cloud die border is from The Cat's Pajamas and cut from white felt. I did machine stitching around the panels and base of the card.

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #96

This week's challenge over on Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge blog is to use Blue. One of my favorite Mo Manning images is "Fishing". It's so detailed and perfect for the men in my family.

A couple of week's ago, DT member Dawn created a sunrise scene with this image. It was so gorgeous that I had to give it a try!

The image was colored with Copic Markers, the water with SU watercolor crayons and the sky was sponged with Memento inks.

Below is a photo of the inside of this card which is 5.25 square. I made this for my grandfather who is an avid fisherman. He will be 89 years YOUNG next month!

Moxie Fab World: Fabulous Felt Challege

I couldn't resist using red felt with the MFT Die-namics rolled rose for this card. The sketch is for this week's MFT challenge over on Splitcoast. I'm also entering the card in the
Fabulous Felt Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.
I love the dimension and texture that felt gives to a project!

I've used a digital version of the Pure Innocence "You're So Tweet" by Heather Ellis. The image has been colored with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. I used the Leafy Flouris and Dizzy Doily Die-namics by MFT as well. A Martha Stewart border punch was used with SU Barely Banana cardstock.

This sweet image has been combined with Echo Park "For the Record" paper pack. I love these papers!!

Thanks for stopping by to take a look! I hope you have a chance to be creative this week.

Moxie Fab World: Fabulous Felt Challege

This sweet little image is called "Catch My Drift"
The Cat's Pajamas.

I have been anxiously awaiting my order for this adorable Cutup from TCP called "Cloud Border". I decided it was perfect for this week's supply challenge with TCP and ran white felt through with the Cutup to get this sweet border.

The main image has been color with Koh-i-Noor pencils and baby oil. I sponged the background of the image replicate a cloudy sky. The papers are Beach Babe from Fancy Pants Designs. I am really loving the colors in this paper pack! They are yummy!

I've combined it with the Moxie Fab World Fabulous Felt Challenge. Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

CPS 231 - My Favorite Things

This week's sketch over on the CPS - Card Sketches blog is
My Favorite Things. When I saw the sketch I knew I would
use "Just My Type". I love the matching die. I am completely smitten with the detail of this fabulous vintage typewriter!

I have combined the MFT image and sentiment with papers from Graphic45 Communique Collection. I love Graphic45 products and I tend to hoard more than use these gorgeous vintage papers!

Fun sketch again this week, Tami! I'm glad I got a chance to play along.

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #38

Good morning Sassy Cheryl followers!

I have a quick and easy project to share with you this week. I needed a bridal shower gift and decided to alter this recipe box and include some of my favorite recipes for the soon-to-be new bride.

I started with this recipe box and dimensional stickers that I picked up at Michael's. The box really didn't require a lot of altering, but you can see in the second photo that I added the dimensional stickers, rick rack and a prima flower.

The second photo also shows the recipe card dividers that I made. I simply cut the appropriate
size from red card stock. The tabs were created with a Stampin' Up punch and the images were stamped onto the tabs using a Crafty Secrets set called "Kitchen Classics".

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out Cheryl's blog for the details and play along. It's easy and we're all curious to see what others are working on this week.

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #95

Mo's Digital Challenge - "Anything BUT a Card"When I saw this week's challenge I knew immediately that I wanted to get caught up on my scrap booking. I am ashamed to say that none of our vacation photos from this years trip to Maui have been put in photo albums or scrapbooks!

I recently purchased this sweet new image by Mo called "Pineapple Girl". She was perfect for my layout of our time on Maui with my parents. Her beautiful flowing black hair has been colored with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. Her dress and skin were colored with Copic Markers.

The palm tree base is hand cut from corrugated cardboard and inked. (I love the texture and dimension this gives!) The sand is hand torn from a sheet of cork then inked. The tree top and Aloha sentiment were cut using my Cricut and "Life's A Beach" cartridge. I'm still learning how to use my Cricut machine so this was quite an accomplishment for me!

It's another week of sharing and being nosy for the Sassy ladies that play along with Sassy Cheryl. Mine is a little delayed as my the project on my desk was being colored for this week's Sassy Cheryl's Challenge "What's Buzzin". You can see the completed project in the blog post directly before this one.

I took advantage of the natural light and beautiful weather to sit outside with my digital images, Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. Of course, I had to add a little Stickle Sparkle to this sweet bear!!

Thanks for stopping by this week! If you'd like to play along, you can check out Cheryl's blog HERE. It's easy and you might win a free digital image!

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #94

This week Debbie has challenged us to create an easel card with a Mo's Digital image. It must have a bird or animal somewhere on the card. You can check out the design team samples and all of the details HERE.

I couldn't resist using this sweet image called "Bronte Kisses". Mo recently sold this at a reduced price as a fund raiser for Pet Orphans of Southern California. If you missed out, it comes with three sentiments and you can still get it in her shop. I just think it's adorable! What's better than puppy kisses when your feeling down?

The first photo is a close up of Bella and Bronte.
The image was colored with Primsacolor pencils
and baby oil. Copic Markers were also used.

The second photo shows my 5x5 inch square easel card. I combined the image with Basic Grey's Max & Whiskers paper pack. The twill and paw brad were in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Easel cards are easy and a fun way to display your images.

I hope you have a chance to be creative this week! Thanks for leaving a comment. I enjoy reading each one!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #75 - Unusual Fold

Jeni is our hostess this week over on the Sassy Cheryl Challenge Blog. She has challenged us to make a card with an unusual fold. I have really had fun lately with the twisted easel fold. It's a great way to showcase your focal image.

My first photo shows the card closed and flat. The second shows the card "twisted" and standing.

I used this fun Sassy Cheryl digital image called "Little Land Swimmer". I bought it a couple of months ago and decided this was the perfect challenge to use it. Alaska has recently experienced 7 straight days of heavy rain!! I am beginning to feel like a "Land Swimmer"!!

The digital image was colored with Copic Markers. I have applied Aleene's Paper Glaze to the snorkel mask and rain drops. The image was die cut with Spellbinder Nestibilities rectangle then sponged with Memento Dandelion ink. The sentiment was computer generated and borrowed from another Sassy Cheryl player (I'm sorry I don't remember who it was.)

I combined this fun image with Echo Park Splash paper stack and Stampin' Up Only Orange card stock.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I really appreciate your comments and enjoy reading each one!

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #36

It's another week of sharing over on the Sassy Cheryl blog. If you have played along, you can check out the details HERE. It's easy and you might win a free Sassy Cheryl image.

My project this weekend wasn't necessarily crafty BUT very needed. I have fallen very behind in organizing my photos into albums. This last weekend I grabbed a stack of photos from our "adventures" in 2009 and spent the morning in the sunshine organizing, labeling and putting them in an album. Phew! I really felt an accomplishment when that was done.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you can do something creative this week!

July Sparks Challenge

Below is this months Designer draft sketches from Paper Smooches. I've used the center sketch for my challenge card. They were all so fun, it was hard to pick just one!I just received my first order from Paper Smooches! Perfect timing to play along with the July Sparks Challenge. I needed a quick Anniversary card and thought the Surf and Turf set would be perfect. I've paired it with a sentiment (in Kim's own handwriting!) from her Sentiment Sampler.

The fish were paper pieced and the bg are from the Echo Park Splash paper stack. Love these sweet fish! I know I will be using this set again and again!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I hope you can be creative today!

July Sparks Challenge

The July Designer Draft Sketches are below and I've used the top center for my challenge card.
I just received my very first order from Paper Smooches and I'm in LOVE! The quality and unique designs are fabulous. I wouldn't have expected any less from the owner and designer, Kim Hughes!! I'm so glad that Kim has continued her unique designs with her new company Paper Smooches. Be sure and check it out!
I've used the adorable Boob Tubes set for this card. The sentiment is from Surf and Turf. The sentiment worked perfectly inside the TV viewing screen. I needed a quick Thank You card and this came together so easily! The chocolate baker's twine was tied around my order from Kim! What a great way to recycle!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I hope you have a chance to be creative today!
