Thanksgiving Trees

Last Fall I purchased this fun mixed media fall tree stamp from Unity called Tree of Gratitude.  I found a perfect Gelli Print in my stash and the rest came together quickly!  The tree image was stamped with my Misti in black VersaFine Clair ink.  The sentiment is also from a Unity set called Change Can Be Beautiful.

The Gelli Print panel is layered onto black card stock. Bo Bunny Double Dot card stock was used for the card base.  A few enamel dots complete the card.

I would like to share my card with the following:

Unity June Challenge - Favorite Unity Animals

I couldn't resist pulling out one of the newer Unity stamps sets to join the current Unity Animal June Challenge.  This sweet image is from the Hoppy & Hedgie set by Lisa Glanz.  The yummy red rubber stamps perfectly!

The rabbit image was stamped onto water color paper with Versafine Tuxedo black ink.  I then colored and blended with Tombow markers.  The sky was sponged using Memento ink and a cloud die cut.  I pulled out Written in the Clouds (Retired) for the card base.  It was stamped with Versamark ink.

I shared a card with the hedgie image earlier this week.  It was so fun to create as well!

Unity Stamp Company - FB Color Challenge

I'm sharing a second card this week for the current color challenge over on the Unity {show & tell} Facebook page.  The color combo really inspired me!

I received the adorable Cup of Love image from Unity last month and decided this was the perfect time to ink her for the first time!  The image was stamped onto Copic card stock and colored with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils.
Unity Stamp Company includes a little freebie with each order that they send out.  It was pure luck that I received an order in the mail last night with the blue doily and red clothes clip!  Of course, I had to include them on my card.  The coordinating designer papers are from the Little Yellow Bicycle Just Because paper pad.

Simple Sympathy Card

It's never an easy task to create a sympathy card.
I had this floral image colored and in my
crafty stash so I paired it with a sentiment
from Sweet 'n Sassy for a quick card.

The image is called "You're Too Kind".
It was designed by Angie Blom for Unity Stamps.
I stamped the image onto water color paper
and colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.
The edges of both the image and sentiment
were inked with Versafine Vintage Sepia.
It was layered onto paper from the
All Abloom Designer Series paper
from Stampin' Up!

I'm sharing a quick card
that I created tonight for
the current Unity Facebook challenge.

The image is from Unity's "going to be OWL-RIGHT"
stamp set.  It was stamped onto water color
paper and colored with Tombow markers
and a blender pen.
A sponged background and sentiment from
Unity's "Happy Thanksgiving" Itty Bitty
set finishes the card.

The design inspiration is from this week's

Unity Friends with Flair and {be Inspired} Challenges

We've made it to Friday again!
I look forward to Friday for many
reasons but the BIG one is to
play along with Unity Stamp Company
and the
Friends With Flair linky party.

I recently ordered the adorable
and tonight I made this fun
clean and simple
card.

I have been experimenting with stamping on
Kraft card stock.  I love how the colored pencils
really pop!  I decided to try something a little
different (for me) and not color the otter image.
I think I like it!

The color combination is one of this month's

Unity Friends with Flair and Simon Says

Happy Friday!
I have been visiting family for the past
couple of Friday's and missed posting
with Unity's fun linky party.

Thanksgiving is such an overlooked Holiday.
Maybe because it's hard to for us to give thanks?
Maybe because it isn't a big money maker for retailers?

I don't know, but......
The Pilgrims gave thanks to the Lord for their bounty.
The Bible has multitudes of references to the giving
of Thanks.

Below is one of my favorites:
Psalms 100:4   "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name"

I'm sharing a card for Thanksgiving
using the adorable
Itty Bitty by Joslyn Nielson

The sketch inspiration came from this month's

I ran across an idea for DIY Embossing paste a few weeks ago.
My husband pulled out his tub of joint compound when I asked
for spackle.

I mixed in a few drops of distress ink.  It spread
easily across the chevron stencil and dried quickly.
Cheap and easy technique for additional texture!

a fabulous Unity prize!

for your chance at winning two Unity Itty Bitty
stamps of your choice!

For my final day with you I'm sharing a card
that I made earlier this summer with a fun
Itty Bitty set by Angie Blom & Lisa Arana

I have combined it with an image from Unity's "Insta Cute"
and a Polaroid die cut from Paper Smooches.
The camera was colored with Tim Holtz
distress reinkers.  Glossy accents were applied to the lenses.

The yellow and blue enamel dots were
made using Perlerbeads.
You can see a quick tutorial on how to make your own
enamel dots on my blog HERE

I wanted to leave you this week by sharing a couple
of photos from my area of the world -- Alaska.

We took a road trip last weekend about an hour
south of Anchorage to Whittier, Alaska
and took these fabulous photos.
