Happy Mother's Day with Hero Arts

I'm getting started on my Mother's Day card with this mixed media design featuring Hero Arts Protea Flowers set and an older Eucalyptus background stamp.

I used an older (but effective) emboss resist technique for the base panel.  Hero Arts inks were blended over the embossing.  A piece of netting from my stash, gems, ribbon and a few sprig dies finish the card.  Of course, the protea was embossed and die cut simply.

I would like share my card with the following:

Gerda Steiner Designs - Just Vrooming By

I'm sharing another fun card featuring a Gerda Steiner Designs set called Vrooming By!  Gerda has such a talent with these cute critters!  This is one of their 3x4 clear sets and comes with three phrases, a word and and exclamation point.  Very versatile so that you can customize your message.

I began by stamping the image onto X-Press It white card stock with VersaFine Clair Nocturne pigment ink and embossing with clear powder.  The image was fussy cut and colored with Copic markers.  I also fussy cut the houses from a sheet of designer paper by American Crafts for the background.

The houses were layered onto Stampin' Up! Basic Grey card stock.  A hand drawn center line for the street was added with an American Crafts Galaxy Marker.  Lastly, the image was adhered with dimension tape and a coordinating sentiment added.

I hope my project inspires you today!  I really had fun putting this together.

Supplies used for my project:  Gerda Steiner Designs set called Vrooming By!, American Crafts designer paper, American Crafts Galaxy Marker, X-Press It White card stock, Stampin' Up! Basic Grey card stock, Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink pad, Stampendous clear embossing powder, embossing buddy, Copic markers (E33, E35, E53, C5, R22, R05).

Word Art Wednesday Challenge Week #553 - #554

Welcome to another new bi-weekly challenge at Word Art Wednesday!  This week we are blessed to be sponsored by My Favorite Things.  One random participant will be the lucky winner of a $25 gift certificate to the MFT shop!

My card features the Scripture Word Art this week from Psalm 20:6.  What a great comfort to know that the Lord hears us and we can be assured of such a promise!

I have also used the new Sandcastle Builder Die-namics from MFT. This die is very intricate but so worth the time and effort.  I used the ink smooshing technique for the card base and printed the digital Scripture directly on the panel.  Card stock strips were torn from SU Creamy Caramel then Hero Arts Sand embossing powder applied.  I finished with die cut shell and stars from the set.

Word Art Wednesday Weeks #549 - #550

Welcome!  The new Word Art Wednesday challenge starts today, and our sponsor is Altenew, who are giving a generous gift of a $15 voucher to their store.

My card features a floral set from Altenew called Paint-A-Flower: Spider Mums.  The floral image is huge and the detail is fabulous.  I began stamping the image onto watercolor paper with versamark then heat embossing in white.  I then used the ink smooshing technique followed by watercolor of the flowers.

I finished the card simply with a black mat, sentiment and a few Stampin' Up! rhinestones.  This is not my typical style, but I will definitely try this again.

This week's free Word Art Scripture is available for your use.  The challenge is always anything goes with a family friendly theme.  You can enter up to 5 times each week.  We are always excited to see your creations!

Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #20 Gift Card Holder

I'm joining the current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge with a fun Gift Card Holder.  I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed with this challenge.  Then I saw Jayne's adorable (and "Toadally" easy) gift card holder ideas.  Ta-Da Total Inspiration!

I started with a gelli print background and embossed Hero Arts Mum Flower (K6133) image with white embossing powder.

The panel was layered onto a small envelope and a circle punch created the notch for the gift card.

The card base has been stamped in Versafine ink with a retired Stampin' Up background called French Script.  Hero Art Congratulation (C2734) sentiment stamp, a paper doily, Amuse ribbon and enamel dots finish the card.

Gina K. February 2021 Monthly Mix Challenge - Love in the Air

I recently came across some older Gina K. stamp sets in my craft room.   One of my crafty goals for the year is to use my older images in a new way.  The images and sentiments in the Sent With Love StampTV Kit are perfect for the February Challenge - Love in the Air.

I started by blending distress inks then heat embossed the floral image.  A few sequins and a coordinating sentiment finish the card.

This will be going to my aunt and uncle who are celebrating 50 plus years of marriage this month!  Big Congrats!
