Word Art Wednesday - Sponsor Gina K Designs

We have a new challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Gina K. Designs.  One lucky winner will receive $25 to shop in the Gina K. store!  What a great prize!  This sweet shop is filled with fun stamps, die cuts, stencils, foil and so much more.

My mixed media card features this week's free Scripture digital file II Chronicles 15:7.

Karen Murray has provided another lovely Scripture for us this week.  You are not required to use it but we would love for you to download the freebie for your use.  Simply select the image, right click and save as.

I began with a Gelli Print panel with lots of acrylic paint layers.  If you look closely you can see some great texture!  I added a sweet die cut from Spellbinder then splattered white paint on the entire panel.  The Scripture was printed, cut apart then sponged and adhered to the card.

I would like to share my card with the following:

Time Out Challenge is celebrating their 10th Birthday this month.  Congratulations!

My birthday card features products from one of the celebration sponsors - Gina K. Designs.   I began by foiling a toner card front from Unity Stamps called Floral Background using Gina K. Bubblegum Fancy Foils.  The foiled panel was then ink blended with Tim Holtz distress inks.

The tag image was also heat foiled using Gina K. Designs Birthday Essentials Foil-Mates.  Two additional tags were cut for a matting and held together with pink baker's twine.  Several gems finish the card.

Beccy's Place December Digital Release - Cat Tails Set

I'm sharing a new digital release at Beccy's Place called Cat Tails.  This set is perfect for all of your cat-loving projects!  It contains four adorable cat silhouette images and six coordinating sentiments.

Each of my projects started by printing the image and sentiment onto either designer paper or X-Press It card stock.  As a personal challenge, I chose an older package of Gina K designer papers from my stash to create my set of cards.  Each has a slightly different design and elements.  Such a great way to use up some of the many papers I tend to "hoard"!

Be sure to stop by Beccy's Place Store and see all of the fun digital sets.  I'm sure you will find something for your next project.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge AG or Optional Layers

Lotsa Layers!!  I'm joining the Penny Black Saturday Challenge with the optional Lots of Layers.

This past week I've been inspired to use up some of my designer paper stash.  Where quilters collect fabric, I seem to collect pretty papers!  Some were on sale, some were for a specific project and others... well, they were just to pretty to pass up.

My Anniversary card began with this adorable hedgehog image from Penny Black's Hugs! Transparent set.  The image was heat embossed and colored with Copic Markers, die cut and layered onto several designer papers.  I recently came across an older Gina K Designs kit in my stash which included this paper pack called Wisteria Lane.

I finished the card with a gingham ribbon and die cut hearts which were on my desk from other projects.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

My Favorite Things Sketch #664

I'm sharing a Fall themed card for this week's sketch challenge at My Favorite Things.  I pulled out a favorite set designed by Birdie Brown called Sweater Weather in the Woods.  The image was water colored with Tombow markers and the sweater was paper pieced.  A few gems were applied for the buttons.

The sentiment is from MFT Happy Pumpkin Season.  A retired Stampin' Up! French Script background stamp was applied to the base panel with VersaMark ink.  It provides a very subtle texture which I thought finished the project off nicely.

All card stock and designer papers are from Gina K.  I'm currently on a "mission" to use papers from my stash for my projects.  I LOVE beautiful papers and tend to hoard them for just the right project! :)

Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge January - Reactive Inks

Good morning!  I'm joining the current challenge at Gina K. Designs with a fun reactive ink background.

My card features an image from the Gina K. Sent with Love StampTV kit (retired).  There are so many sweet images in this set!

The background was created by applying reactive inks directly to a Hero Arts bubble background stamp, spritzing and stamping.  I love the effect!

Gina K Designs Monthly Mix Challenge - December

I'm sneaking in a last minute entry for the December Monthly Mix Challenge at Gina K Designs.  This month's challenge is ink blending.

I love the ease and versatility of Gina K Foil-Mates and they worked perfectly for this challenge.  I foiled a sentiment from the Birthday Best foil mates then inked the edges.  The Hot Dots panel was foiled the ink blended with Tim Holtz distress inks - Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac and Wilted Violet.

Of course, I finished the card with some yummy Gina K. Designs Gingham Fancy Ribbon.

Gina K. February 2021 Monthly Mix Challenge - Love in the Air

I recently came across some older Gina K. stamp sets in my craft room.   One of my crafty goals for the year is to use my older images in a new way.  The images and sentiments in the Sent With Love StampTV Kit are perfect for the February Challenge - Love in the Air.

I started by blending distress inks then heat embossed the floral image.  A few sequins and a coordinating sentiment finish the card.

This will be going to my aunt and uncle who are celebrating 50 plus years of marriage this month!  Big Congrats!

Gina K. Monthly Mix Challenge - Celebrate with Red

I recently won a gift card from Gina K.  It has been a very long time since I played along.  Below are the items that I chose and it was a great prompt to join the January - Celebrate with Red challenge.

The Gina K Hot Dot Foil Mates was the perfect background for my card featuring a retired Gina K. set called Sew Pretty.

The image was colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut and the dress was paper pieced.  I love the vintage feel of this set.  It's "sew" fun!  I finished the card with lots of layers, ric rac and enamel dots.

I'm sharing a quick card for the Christian Card Makers Facebook group.  Each week Ginny Maxam hosts a fun sketch challenge.  She generously sends all of the participants a sweet card kit.  Check out the fun at Christian Card Makers FB Group.

Gerda Steiner and MFT Sketch #368

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and maybe got a little crafty.

Gerda Steiner hosts a monthly progressive challenge with a new adorable image.  This month we were provided with this sweet Panda in Love digital image.  If you are new to the challenge but want to join the fun you can purchase the image here.  Create something fun using the image, post it on the challenge blog and next month you will receive the challenge image free.  How fun is that??

My card started by printing the digital image onto Stampin' Up! Whisper White Cardstock and coloring with Spectrum Noir and Copic Markers.  The current sketch from My Favorite Things was used as well.
The base panel was created using the new Valentine Foil Mates from Gina K.  I LOVE this new line and such a fun technique!  It's so simple as well.  I simply layered a trimmed piece of deco foil onto the Foil Mate print of my choice.  The layers were inserted into parchment then fed through my Scotch thermal laminator.  The result is so professional!

I finished my card with a layer of vellum, silver cord and a small sentiment banner from Sweet 'n Sassy.

This card will be going into my stack for the Cards From the Heart Card Drive sponsored by Winter Sims and her family.  They are collecting Valentine Cards for distribution to patients at local hospitals, foster homes and a nursing home.

I'm also sharing with Cards for A Cause over at Splitcoast Stampers.  They are sponsoring Winter's card drive for the month of January.
