My Favorite Things Sketch #664

I'm sharing a Fall themed card for this week's sketch challenge at My Favorite Things.  I pulled out a favorite set designed by Birdie Brown called Sweater Weather in the Woods.  The image was water colored with Tombow markers and the sweater was paper pieced.  A few gems were applied for the buttons.

The sentiment is from MFT Happy Pumpkin Season.  A retired Stampin' Up! French Script background stamp was applied to the base panel with VersaMark ink.  It provides a very subtle texture which I thought finished the project off nicely.

All card stock and designer papers are from Gina K.  I'm currently on a "mission" to use papers from my stash for my projects.  I LOVE beautiful papers and tend to hoard them for just the right project! :)

Art Impressions Challenge #325 Fun With Flowers

Spring is in the air here in Alaska!  I'm so happy to see sunny days and flowers coming up.

It's a perfect time to join the Art Impressions challenge "Fun with Flowers".  My card features a favorite AI set called His & Hers Gardeners (SCO650).  Its such a fun set with gardening images and puny sentiments.

I came across the fun card fold on Instagram recently.  It's new to me and I love the effect!  Designer papers are from Pebbles Garden Party.  I finished the inside of the card with a sentiment and images from the same AI set.  Of course, the lady gardener was colored with Copic Markers and her apron was paper pieced.

Let's Celebrate!

I hope everyone is having a crafty weekend!  We saw our first snowfall in Anchorage yesterday.  It gave me an "excuse" to snuggle in and water color last night!

This adorable little Conga Line celebration is a new set by Anita Jeram for Colorado Craft Company.  I stamped the image onto water color paper then used my Peerless water color sheets for the little critters and the confetti background.

The party hats have been paper pieced and a little pom pom added for dimension.  I heat embossed the coordinating sentiment to make it pop!  Finally, I kept my card simple by layering the scene onto a glittery base.

Art Impressions - AI Squared Challenge

This week's challenge at Art Impression is Squares.  I recently won the adorable Sloth-some set and couldn't wait to create a fun birthday card.  I used the Out-of-the-Box technique and paper pieced the balloon.
The image was colored with Copic Markers and the background was masked and sponged with a scallop die.  The finished card size is 3.5 square.

Di's Digi Design Challenge - Harvest

I'm joining the current Harvest themed challenge at Di's with her sweet Pumpkin Wendy digital image.  She's perfect for Fall!

I started by printing the image and layering gingham over her dress.  I printed the image again then fussy cut the dress image.  It's fun to paper piece sometimes and I love the sweet gingham!

The image was then colored with Copic markers, fussy cut and layered onto papers from Carta Bella Autumn paper pad.  The die cuts and seam tape ribbon are from Verve Stamps.

If you follow my blog, you know that I LOVE a good sketch!  Well, I couldn't resist using the current Mojo Monday sketch for this card.  Julee Tilman offers a new sketch which includes the panel dimensions.  It's great inspiration!

I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge with the AI Pand-tastic Set.  This is my first time to ink up the set and I love it!  So many adorable panda images and coordinating sentiments.

I started by stamping the image in Versafine Claire ink then die cut.  It was stamped again onto Doodlebug designer paper, fussy cut and paper pieced.  LOTS of layers on the card with coordinating papers from Doodlebug Cream & Sugar paper pad.  A coordinating sentiment and enamel dots finish the card.
I'm also sharing with Day 7 of the Coffee Lovers Hop!  I hope you get a chance to join the fun.  Amy and her team offer tons of inspiration AND sponsor prizes.  You can check out the details by using the link below.

Art Impressions Challenge #273 Hugs & Kisses!

I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge with a fun Anniversary card.  The current challenge is Hugs & Kisses so I couldn't resist pulling out this image from the AI Love Birds set.

Their shirt and dress were paper pieced with designer paper from MME Love Me paper pad.  The base panel is from the same pad.  I couldn't resist combining the "Love" page with this couple!  The images were colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.
A lightly sponged stencil background, pearl earring and sequins finish the card.  To fit the "Love" sentiment, the finished card size is 6.25 x 5.  Bigger than my normal cards, but I really like the end result.

Thanks for taking a look!!

Your Next Stamp Fun Friday Challenge: #109 Patterned Paper

I'm joining this week's challenge at Your Next Stamp with this fun Father's Day card.  I pulled out one of my favorite YNS stamps called Keepin' It Reel and coordinating die for this card.

I started by stamping the fisherman onto Stampin Up very vanilla card stock, coloring with Tombow markers and paper piecing the vest.  The fish image was die cut, colored and adhered with dimension tape.  I couldn't resist adding the googly eye!

LOTS of patterned papers were used on my card from the Campfire paper pad by October Afternoon.  I finished with a few wood veneer stars for dimension.

A Blog Named Hero Challenge - Embossing

I'm sharing with the current embossing challenge at A Blog Named Hero featuring the Hero Arts January Kit.  I love the detailed stamps in this set.  This is my first attempt creating a window scene.  I definitely need practice!
The window was die cut and colored with Alcohol markers.  The awning was paper pieced with scraps from my stash.  I built the scene behind a piece of clear plastic.  Finally, it was mounted onto the Basic Grey card stock base panel which was dry embossed with Tim Holtz brick embossing folder.  I lightly sponged distress ink over the embossing to highlight.
Although the base photographed as black... it's really grey.  The card was finished with a birthday sentiment.

Art Impressions Challenge: #251 Floral Cards

When I saw the current Art Impressions challenge was floral I pulled out all of my AI sets in search of flowers.  Can you believe it.... I only have two sets that contain a floral image!  Wow!

Well, His & Hers Gardners is one of my favorites and this window scene came immediately to mind.  This is not my typical style and it took three days to create, but well worth it in the end.  I really like how this turned out and I love the coordinating sentiment.  It makes me chuckle every time I use it!

I started by stamping the gardener onto Copic marker paper and paper piecing with a scrap piece of gingham.  The image was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  The Madison window die, flower box and Grassland border die are all from Memory Box.

The base panel is Stampin' Up!  Smokey Slate card stock and embossed with a Tim Holtz Brick emboss folder.  I added a little scrap dp behind the window as a curtain.

Catch the Bug Oldie But Goodie - Polar Bear

The Bugaboo Design Team is sharing inspiration featuring images from the shop that you may have missed.  This one is called Polar Bear and you can pick it up for $1.00!  Isn't he adorable?  AND perfect for winter projects.

One of the things that I love about working with digital images is the ability to resize.  To create this shaped card I printed the bear out at 5 inches tall!  He was fussy cut, colored with copic markers and adhered to Perfect Plum cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I fussy cut again around the card base to create the final shaped card.

The image was printed onto designer papers twice for the scarf.  I then paper pieced and attached the scarf.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Annual Holiday Chaos week of fun starting Saturday, December 2 at Catch the Bug.  There will be a new challenge each day and lots of prizes!

I'm joining the Progressive challenge at Gerda Steiner with this adorable mouse and ornament image.  You can find it HERE.

I decided to paper piece the image and color with Spectrum Noir pens.  Liquid applique was added to the hat for dimension.
The tag was created with Spellbinder dies and retired Stampin' Up! designer papers from my stash.  A Stickles border, snowflake rhinestones and silver cord finish the tag.
