Art Impressions Challenge: #395 Monochromatic

 

I'm playing along with the current challenge at Art Impressions - Monochromatic.  My card features the adorable Frog Set.  The image was colored with Copic Markers.  I went through my paper scraps and die cut several circles from coordinating papers.  An easy sketch with the circles randomly randomed onto an embossed panel.

The sentiments with this set are so fun.  I've included another as an inside sentiment:  "I've been toad you're having a birthday!"

It's been a few weeks since I have joined the Art Impressions Challenge.  The current theme in "Teeny Tiny".  My photo is somewhat deceiving since this tag is actually 3 inche x 1 inches.

I stamped, colored and die cut images from the AI Dog House Cubbies set (5101).  Only a portion of the dog house stamp was used by inking only one house and fussy cutting.  The dogs were stamped onto watercolor paper then colored with Tombow Markers.

The tiny tag was in my stash.  It was made using scrap papers, adhering to card stock with Mod Podge then die cutting with various sizes of tags.  Each tag is unique and it worked great for my Tiny Project!

I'm joining the Art Impressions Monthly Guest Designer Challenge with the adorable Doggy Kisses Set (AiCS38).  I love the adorable images and humorous sentiments included in this set.  It is perfect for a Get Well card that I needed this week for a friend who had surgery.

The image was stamped on Stampin' Up! Crumble Cake and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The papers retired SU In-Color Calypso Coral (2011-2013).

I created the frame with a Spellbinder die and doodled border.

I'm sharing a fun rocker card for the current challenge at Art Impressions.  The theme is "Farm Fresh" so I pulled out a fun chicken couple from the AI retired Bird-Brains line called Dancing Birdie & Scratch (U1831).

The chicken couple was colored with Copic Markers and fussy cut.  The rocking base started with a large circle die and simply folded in half with a smaller circle of designer paper.  A couple of music note die cuts, sentiment and jute bow finish the card.

This will be going to a college friend and her husband for their upcoming wedding anniversary.

I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions with a fun faux center step card design.  My card features Art Impressions Loads of Fun set.  The set has great coordinating sentiments for the images.

I decided to use the faux center step card fold to focus on the main image.  I think the design gives the impression that she is surfing the waves!  Love it!

I created the faux step card using this pattern from The Stamp Camp website.  

 

The finished card folds down for mailing in an A2 envelope.  The image was colored with alcohol markers, die cut then layered onto the faux step panel.  Designer papers are from my stash.

Okay, I must admit that the current Art Impressions challenge was, well, a little challenging!  I was stumped on "Magical Creatures" until I remember this little garden gnome in the Gotta Garden set 5000.  Perfect!

I stamped the image three times on X-Press It card stock, colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut.  A few random polka dots were added so that the center gnome would stand out.  "Gnome-one like you!"  

A stencil from Tim Holtz was used for the circle background.  I finished the clean and simple design with a few enamel dots on the Stampin' Up! Crumb Cake card stock base.

Good morning!  I'm joining the current Art Impressions challenge with this fun group of birthday pandas.  This week's challenge is to use panda's and/or black and white on your project.  I couldn't resist a little pop of pink on my card.

I started by stamping and coloring the panda image from the Pand-tastic Set 5113 with alcohol markers.  It has been layered onto gingham paper from Journey Blooms.  A coordinating sentiment and baker's twine finish the card.

Art Impressions Challenges - Birds of A Feather and Anchors Away

 

I'm sharing a fun birthday card with two of the current AI Challenges - the bi-weekly Birds of a Feather and their monthly designer challenge with a theme of Anchors Away.

My clean and simple card features the adorable Gull-Friends stamp set. This set is full of fun images and coordinating sentiments PLUS it includes die cuts.  I {LOVE} Bonnie's critters.  She really makes them come to life!

I started by stamping the image with Versa Claire black ink and embossing with clear powder.  The image was colored with Copic Markers.  A lightly sponged "sky" and Copic Marker "beach" build the scene quickly.  

The card was finished simply by layering onto a striped designer paper.  A coordinating sentiment and flock of flying birds complete the scene.

I'm joining the current challenge at Art Impressions which is Pop It Up! - Popping up elements on the card.  My card features AI 5283 Frog Set.  

I've stamped, colored and fussy cut a couple of images from the set.  I popped up the frog on dimension tape.  The image panel is popped up with a base which will flatten for mailing.

The image panel was layered onto papers from Carta Bella Summer Market.  A coordinating sentiment from the set, gems and gingham ribbon finish the card.

I'm sharing a fun Thanksgiving themed card for this week's challenge at Art Impressions.  We were asked to use squares with our projects.

My card features a retired AI set - Full of Thanks set 4939.  This is one of my go-to sets for Thanksgiving projects.  The images and sentiments in this set are adorable and humorous.

The images were stamped with Versafine Claire ink, colored with Copic markers and cut with square stitched dies.  They were layered onto designer paper from Pebbles Woodland Forest paper pad.  A few enamel dots and coordinating sentiment finish the 4.25 square card.

Happy Saturday!  I hope everyone gets a few minutes to be crafty this weekend.

I'm joining the current Fall challenge at Art Impressions with a Fall water color scene.  I recently purchased the adorable Art Impressions Elephant on a Bike (discontinued) stamp on a stamp swap website.  He's SO cute and really looks happy for Fall to arrive.

I started by printing the Polkadoodles digital Country Road Scene background onto water color paper.  Water color crayons were applied then water colored for the scene.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the crayons have a slight shimmer which is really fun.

The elephant image was stamped onto the scene and embossed then water colored as well.  A sentiment from Unity Stamps complete the 4.25 square card.

Art Impressions Challenge #359 Feeling Blue

 

I'm joining the current Art Impressions Challenge - Feeling Blue.  We are using the color blue on our project.  What a better way to use various blues that a water scene!   My card features the Art Impressions Submarine Cubbies set.  This set includes several water creatures, a submarine, sentiments and coordinating die cuts.

I used several inky techniques on this card.  I started by ink blending the cloudy sky with a cloud die template and Stormy Sky distress ink.  The various water critters were ink smooshed using Stormy Sky and Blue Print distress inks.  I pulled a Gelli Print from my stash for the "water" panel.  Of course, the submarine was stamped onto gray card stock and die cut then cropped to peek onto the panel.  I finished with a sentiment from My Favorite Things.

Art Impressions Challenge #358 All Wrapped Up!

 

The current challenge at Art Impressions is All Wrapped Up - Bows or Ribbons whether real or stamped.  I recently came across a bundle of various stamps at my local thrift store.  What a fun surprise to find the retired AI Zoo Babies Bananas set among the haul!

I've stamped the image onto water color paper.  The image was first water colored then highlights were added with both Prismacolor pencils and Tombow markers.  After drying, I fussy cut the image and layered onto yellow gingham and banana designer papers from DaisyD's.  I've included a gingham bow from Gina K, a coordinating sentiment and enamel dots finish the card.

Art Impressions - Gotta Garden Set

I've had such a fun time this month sharing inspiration with Art Impressions stamps.  I would like to say Thank You to Art Impressions for allowing me to join them this month!  Today I would like to share a  summer card featuring Gotta Garden Set 5000.

The summer growing season is short in Alaska.  My husband and I take full advantage of the extended summer daylight and plant both vegetables and flowers.  We never know what will flourish each year, but we enjoy the process regardless.  

I stamped the image onto X-Press It card stock with Versa Clair black ink then embossed with clear powder.  Copic markers were used to color the image then die cut with Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle die cuts.

The image panel was adhered with dimension tape to designer papers from Echo Park Homegrown paper pad.  Twine and a coordinating sentiment complete the 4.5 square card.

Art Impressions - Road Trip

 

I'm having so much fun as Guest Designer for Art Impressions this month!  Today I'm sharing a clean and simple design featuring Art Impressions 4931 - Road Trip Set.  

I began this card by ink blending with Tim Holtz Distress inks - Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.  Two of the buildings from the set were stamped with Versamark ink and wet embossed with white embossing powder.

The group of lady travelers were stamped, colored with Copic Markers, fussy cut then adhered with dimension tape.  The finished panel was layered onto Stampin' Up! Night of Navy card stock.  A few enamel dots and coordinating sentiment finish the card.

Art Impressions - Bonnie's Birthday Challenge #355

 

This week I'm sharing a clean and simple birthday card along with Bonnie's Birthday Challenge.  Happy Birthday Bonnie!

I took a little artistic liberty with the Art Impressions 5113 Pand-tastic Set this week.  The lazy little bear image is so adorable and I decided he could also be a brown bear.  Of course, the brown bear is a little more common in my area of the country!

Both the bear and a sentiment from AI Chocolate Therapy set were stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.  The bear was colored with Copic Markers E53 Raw Silk, E33 Sand and E35 Chamois.  The panel was layered onto designer paper from Pink Paislee Switchboard paper pad and a black card stock base.  A few enamel dots finish the 4. 5 inch square card.
