30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 28

Happy Thanksgiving!

Looking forward to a wonderful day with friends and family, with lots of relaxing, which is perfection.  For today's gratitude card I thought it was only fitting to share the cards I made for our family and friends for Thanksgiving.  The August 2019 Gift of Fall Paper Pumpkin kit was so beautiful I knew I would use it for Thanksgiving so I bought the add-on kit which provided 24 pre-printed cardbases and envelopes and used the elements from the main Paper Pumpkin kit to make these cards (plus more, and have lots of supplies left).  There are several different layers and textures on each card which really help dress them up and saved me a lot of work, which is really appreciated!

I love how these turned out and hope our family does as well.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC360: Day of Thanks (30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 27)

Good morning!

So excited that our Thanksgiving vacation has officially started, just wrapping up a few things this morning before we hit the road.  Today I'm using the Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge for another fun Thanksgiving card using the Day of Thanks stamp set.

This card uses Mint Macaron cardstock for the cardbase and then Rich Razzleberry cardstock as mat for the Crumb Cake cardfront.  To make the cardfront I started by embossing the cardstock with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and then took a sponge dauber and the Celestial Copper Delicata Metallic Ink and lightly rubbed the ink over the cardfront to highlight the embossing and create the look of extra texture.

Next I added a piece of Come to Gather Designer Series Paper that was matted with Pretty Peacock cardstock.  I used that same turkey image from Monday and this time he's stamped in Early Espresso ink on Mint Macaron cardstock and matted with Rich Razzleberry.  Behind the turkey piece I added a small leaf (which is Early Espresso and cut out with the Gathered Leaves Dies) peaking out.

To finish off the card I added some Pearls that I colored with a Copper Sharpie Marker.  The greeting was stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Very Vanilla cardstock and then I fussy cut around it with my Paper Snips and sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink before attaching it with Mini Dimensionals.

Adding the Mint Macaron to this card makes it a little more playful and I like fussy cutting greetings like this when they are large so they don't monopolize the card as it might if it was straight edges.

30 Day Gratitude Challenge: Day 18

Good morning!

So it is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is a little over a week, I mentioned it to Chris and he was shocked!  Before Thanksgiving arrives I knew I wanted to have a little fun with the Thanksgiving turkey in the Birds of a Feather stamp set so today seems like the perfect day for today's gratitude card.

I started with Cajun Craze cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Early Espresso cardstock as a mat for the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper.   I took another pattern from this pack and matted it with Pretty Peacock cardstock as a belly band for the card.

For the main stamped image I stamped the turkey in Momento Black in on Whisper White and then used my Stampin' Blends to color it in before cutting it out with the Stitched Rectangle dies and matting it with Mint Macaron cardstock.  I used dimensionals to attach both the turkey and the greeting to the card and finished it off with a double bow tied with Linen Tread.

This turkey is definitely too cute to eat and I would enjoy spending the holiday with him, haha!

Fab Friday Color Challenge #FabFri150: Country Home

Good afternoon!  Well this snowy day is definitely a change from our usual November weather (trust me, Aidan is very excited for the snow day and being off from school).  Today I'm playing along with the Fab Friday color challenge to make another Thanksgiving card (slowing widdling away on my To Do list).  I decided to go with another coloring card so I could use my Stampin' Blends and did add a couple of extra colors to fill out my floral arrangement but think it works.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Tranquil Tide cardstock that was embossed with the Big Shot and Tin Tile Dynamic Embossing Folder (I did lightly sponge with the Crumb Cake ink to distress it a little).  Next I added a piece of Country Lane Designer Series Paper and wrapped some Mint Macaron Twine from the Nature's Twine package.

For the main stamped image I stamped the milk bucket and flowers from the Country Home stamp set using Momento Black ink on Whisper White and then colored it in with my Stampin' Blends, and Stampin' Write Marker (for the Mint Macaron leaves).  Tip:  to help get the lighter effect on the bucket, after coloring it with the light and dark Smoky Slate Blend's I went over parts of it with the Color Lifter Blends to lighten just where I wanted, love this effect!  Once I was done coloring I attached the stamped piece with dimensionals.  The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Cajun Craze ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and then cut out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits and attached with dimensionals.

I have to say, I can't get over how relaxing coloring is (no wonder kids enjoy it so much, we all should get back to the simple things) and the blends make it easy to create a pretty watercolor look, even if you don't have the skills.

SSINKspiration Anything Goes: Pleasant Pheasants

Good afternoon!  It all the sudden hit me this weekend that Thanksgiving is next week, how is that possible??  this revelation spurred me into action as I have a list of Thanksgiving cards that are needed and they will not make themselves.  Today the SSINKspiration blog is Anything Goes so the designers can share whatever their working on so I thought it was only fitting to share one of the cards I made for Thanksgiving, in case you, like me lost track of time and have a little catching up to do.

I started with Crumb Cake cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of designer series paper from the Country Lane DSP pack for the cardfront.

For the main stamped image I used the Pleasant Pheasants stamp set and heat embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder on Crumb Cake cardstock (this was a friends idea and I was playing around while she was over yesterday, so thanks for the inspiration!)  I matted this piece with Early Espresso cardstock and then for a little extra copper I took a piece of Chicken Wire Elements and colored it with Bright Copper Shimmer Paint using a Sponge Dauber and letting it dry (make sure to move it from were you colored it so the wire element doesn't stick, trust me!)

To finish off the card I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits, sponged around the edge with Soft Suede ink and then used dimensionals to attach it.

This card is really simple but has some fun copper accents that really helps it pop and I know it will be a hit (I already know who's receiving this card) now just to get it in the mail!
