Winter Welcome

I have almost finished this. I only have the 4 snowflakes and curly-wurly bits down the sides to go. Unfortunately I still can't show you a picture so you're just going to have to take my word for it.

I had done most of the first snowflake by going up and down the arms and then I decided that looked silly so now I'm ripping it out and I'm going to try going round and round in circles from the centre out - see if that will help the colour variation. The thread goes from quite light to quite dark, so it's quite obvious the direction of stitching and where the changes are. I'm trying to get something that will look smooth and flow nicely and not have such large colour jumps between stitches. I'll see how the circle method goes.

Winter Welcome

It's about time I updated you on this piece. I finished the word welcome ages ago and then it got put away while I concentrated on the bookmarks and ornaments for Christmas. So here is a picture of it:

Winter Welcome

Here's my latest new start - Winter Welcome by Brittercup Designs - I'm stitching this one mostly at homegroup and while watching the children swim as it's an easy carry project. I'm stitching it on an odd cut of fabric from Sparklies. I do like her fabric :)

UK Stitchers Ornament Exchange

This ornament has now been received as well so I can show a picture of it too.

I had to stitch it for myself too and I'm just finishing it now. I'm doing ribbon around my one rather than the beads I used on the other, and I even remembered to put in a hanging loop which I forgot on the first one.

And this is the one I received in return:
