Los Tres Caballeros

Good morning and a very happy Thursday. Today I'm back with my second pieces for the Lost Coast Designs 31 Days of Halloween challenge.

You can't beat a good head swap can you, though I'm not sure that the guy in the middle is convinced!

Ok, so equal with a head swap is a shaky shaky shaker!

This time I've used

Lost Coast

Skull Flourish (again) but why wouldn't you?

Skeleton and Roses

Tres Cabelleros     and

Carmen's Veranda

Skulls & Bones Background

I hope you're enjoying the inspiration over on the portal. Remember there will be new posts every day throughout October.

Take care and have a spooky day! x

Oh Those Ruby Slippers

Good afternoon and happy Monday. It's my turn to share my 'Follow The Yellow Brick Road' piece for Lost Coast Designs

I always think that these monkeys are far scarier the the wicked witch. If you pop on over to the Portal there are more photographs of how this was made.
I've used the Carmen's Veranda 'Flying Monkeys' stamp for this,  and the sentiment was typed on my computer.
This is a sad post for me, as it's my last one for Lost Coast Designs. I've had a fabulous 18 months on the team, so a big thank you to Linda for having me.
There's still time for you to join in with our challenge, so I hope to see you over at the Portal. Have a happy week, and thanks very much for looking x

Paper Piecing For Lost Coast Designs

Good afternoon and welcome to my second piece of the day! Lots of new challenges starting today, including Lost Coast Designs, who have chosen Paper Piecing. Here's what I've made.

I started by stamping the Carmen's Veranda Bird Collage on a sheet of acetate. I painted the branches, then stamped the birds and leaves on some patterned paper, cut out, and stuck down over the acetate.
I stuck this onto some paper from a Christmas pack. I put the glue where the birds were, this way it didn't show on the acetate. When it was firmly stuck down I sewed it in place.

I matted and layered onto some more paper from the same pack, and it's all done.
I really enjoyed making this, it's ages since I've done some paper piecing. I'll see you later in the month with my second piece.
I think this is the last of my pieces for today, so I hope you join in with our challenge, and thanks very much for looking xx

Under The Sea

Good afternoon and welcome to my second post of today. Lost Coast Designs have a brand new challenge starting, and it's a nice easy one - Anything Goes.

I started by stamping the Seahorse and the large Journaling Letter Guide onto some smooth card with Distress Oxides, and smudging whilst the ink was still wet. This works better with some colours than other but all the blues are fine. I used a mixture of colours on my stamp, which is really easy to do with a stamping platform.

Next I blended some Tea Dye DO onto the page and splashed with water.

I added some more stamping with the text from Leonardo's Accessory Set, and some stencilling top and bottom. For the words I stencilled in Tea Dye, then 'bumped' it with some DIY filler 'cos I know that this absorbs some of the colour, and it dries really quickly.
To finish off I added some sequins (of course) and stamped the Carmen's Veranda Compass Square and the Eternity from Mystery, Eternity, Hope, Goddess onto some velum and stitched it into place. I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but I could add it to a card blank if I wanted.
I hope that you join in with our challenge, there is rubber up for grabs for a lucky winner.
I'm also entering this into the Simon Say Stamp Wednesday challenge, which is Make Your Own Background, and Simon Says Stamp Monday which is Wild Things.
Have a wonderful August, and thanks very much for looking x

I Came, I Saw, I Conga'd

Good morning and happy Tuesday. Here is another (and last you'll be happy to hear) of my Eileen Hull Passport journal pages.

I've not inked up Carmen Mooranda, so I thought it was time that I did.
I've also used my new favourite's Doodle Circles, and Antique Text Border. Carmen's Veranda's Flying Monkey also came to the party.
This may not be art daaaahling but it certainly was fun!
If you would like to join in with our current challenge just stamp something (but no humans allowed) and link up over on the Portal.
Have a fab week, and thanks very much for looking xx

Follow Your Heart

Hello again, and welcome to my second post of today.  Yes it's still the 1st of the month so it's also time for a new challenge over at Lost Coast Designs. Luckily they're based in the US, so it's still the morning over there! The new challenge is Mini Me, so we are going for the small but perfectly formed - anything smaller than a card and no that doesn't mean a small card lol. We're looking for tags, atc's, inchies, twinchies, etc. Here's my tag.

I started by stamping Carmen's Veranda's Flaming Heart onto shrink plastic and colouring it with Posca pens.

And here it is, all shrunken!

I made a rosette for it using the Tim Holtz die. I hadn't used this for years and now I remember why! It's back at the bottom of the drawer and it's staying there.

I cut a tag from stamping card and stamped away. I really like how the white centres look with the coloured borders. Maybe I'm starting to embrace white space (doubt it though) Just a few buttons and a sticker to finish off, and we're all done.
Over to you now, please join in with our Mini challenge and celebrate the tiny. Remember there are prizes!
Have a very happy June, and thanks very much for looking x

Tweet This

Good afternoon and happy Tuesday. It's time for a new challenge over at the Lost Coast Portal To Creativity, and this time it's Tweet This - we want to see your bird projects. Here's mine.

I have a confession to make, this is the first time I've inked up this beautiful stamp, but it won't be the last!

I started by die cutting a couple of Tim Holtz frames that fit this stamp nicely.

I stamped the Kingfisher a couple of times onto watercolour card and coloured him with Distress Markers.

Then I painted the chipboard with DecoArt white acrylic, stamped randomly with the Joy background stamp and then crackled it all with crackle paste.

When the crackle was dry I used antiquing cream to define the cracks and popped up the bird and butterflies on 3d foam.
Please pop over to the Portal for more inspiration from my teamies, then join in with our challenge.
Enjoy the rest of the day, and thanks very much for looking x

Feeling Lucky??

Good afternoon and happy Tuesday. It's my turn to show you my yellow and orange piece for the latest Lost Coast Designs challenge, so here he is.

I've used Drips for the background, and the wonderful Bandaid Dog from a selection of Katzelkraft stamps that Lost Coast stock.
There's more photographs over on the Portal, so I hope to see you over there.
Have a fun week, and thanks very much for looking xx

A Rose Is A Rose

Good afternoon and welcome to my second post of the day - just like busses eh! There's a new challenge starting over on the Portal today, and it's one of my favourites 'cos it's what I do all the time, it's Stamped Backgrounds. Here's mine.

I started by stamping the beautiful Roses stamp using my stamping platform as I wanted to stamp it in both colours. Then I painted it with Pebeo masking fluid so I could stamp the background over the top.

I love this Large Chickenwire Background, it's so crisp and clean and it fitted perfectly over the rose. Once the ink was dry I just rubbed the masking fluid away.

I coloured the flower with watercolour pencils and added some DecoArt Glamourdust paint for a bit of sparkle.

Then a Tim Holtz sticker just to finish it all off.
So put away your patterned paper, and join us for our stamped background challenge - you know you want to, and there's rubber up for grabs - that sounded better in my head!
Have a lovely afternoon, and thanks very much for looking xx
