Dear Stitchers,
with a little delay, mainly due to the renovation work we did at home which prevented me from working continuously on new projects, I finally present you the patterns of this bright and warm summer!
The first design is special and precious, and tells of a treasure that lives in the depths of the sea, but perhaps also within ourselves. The most precious treasure is hidden inside its shell, a pearl of the colors of the moon, which contains within itself the most magical essence of one’s being.

con un po’ di ritardo dovuto soprattutto ai lavori di rinnovo che abbiamo fatto in casa, che mi hanno impedito di lavorare con continuità ai nuovi progetti, vi presento finalmente gli schemi di questa estate luminosa e calda!
Il primo schema è speciale e prezioso, e racconta di un tesoro che abita nelle profondità del mare, ma forse anche dentro noi stesse. Il tesoro più prezioso è nascosto all’interno della sua conchiglia, una perla dei colori della luna, che racchiude in sé l’essenza più magica del proprio essere.
The precious pearl is watched over by a tiny seahorse and starfish, but also by a very sweet mermaid, who holds out her hands to protect it from any danger.
It’s also our charge to find that pearl and protect it, to keep it alive and shining. Both in the boundless sea and within ourselves.
La perla preziosa è vegliata da un piccolo cavalluccio marino e dalle stelle marine, ma anche da una dolcissima sirena, che allunga le sue mani per proteggerla da qualsiasi pericolo.
È anche nostro il compito trovare quella perla e proteggerla, fare in modo che viva e continui a brillare. Tanto nello sconfinato mare, quanto dentro noi stesse.
The second pattern continues my beloved animals series, but this time it’s tinged with light! They are the Stars Animals, each linked to a particular constellation that accompanies it within its design. The constellations and therefore the animals that represent them are the Ursa Minor – Minor Bear, the Vulpecula – Little Fox, the Delphinus – Dolphin, the Columba – Dove, and finally he, the king of the constellations, Pegasus.
Il secondo schema prosegue la mia amata serie sugli animaletti, ma questa volta si tinge di luce! Sono gli animali delle stelle, ognuno legato ad una particolare costellazione che lo accompagna all’interno del proprio disegno. Le costellazioni e quindi gli animali che le rappresentano sono l’Orsa Minore – Ursa Minor, la Volpetta – Vulpecola, il Delfino – Delphinus, la Colomba – Columba, e infine lui, il re delle costellazioni, Pegaso – Pegasus.
For added magic, you could even stitch them with glow-in-the-dark yarn. In this case I preferred to choose a very bright white that tends slightly to blue, to make well the brightness of the stars that shine in the sky at night.
Each constellation has its own message to bring and its magic to infuse... it’s up to us to listen to them and receive their luminous gifts.
Per aggiungere magia potreste addirittura ricamarli con il filato fosforescente, che si illumina al buio. Io ho preferito in questo caso scegliere un bianco molto luminoso che tende leggermente all’azzurro, per rendere bene la lucentezza delle stelle che di notte brillano nel cielo.
Ogni costellazione ha il suo messaggio da portare e la sua magia da infondere… sta a noi ascoltarle e ricevere il loro dono luminoso.
The third pattern continues my famous and much loved series on bees. Every year I think I run out of ideas, and every year new ones come up, so much so that I have to dose them and postpone some to the following year! This first pattern that continues the series combines the kingdom of bees with the magic of the moon. Bees and the moon have always been connected in ancient myths.
Il terzo schema prosegue la mia ormai famosa e amatissima serie sulle api. Ogni anno penso di non avere più idee, e ogni anno ne vengono di nuove, tanto da doverle dosare e rimandarne alcune all’anno successivo! Questo primo schema che prosegue la serie unisce il regno delle api alla magia della luna. Api e luna sono sempre state connesse nei miti antichi.
In this drawing, which should have been called Honey Moon but which then “chose to be called” Blessed Bee, I wanted to include all the phases of the moon in three small patterns that you can create as you prefer: the triple moon, the full moon and the crescent, growing or waning moon. I created a pincushion, an ornament and a cute needlebook. The moon maiden of the larger pattern is the one who mediates between the world of the moon, that of the bees and ours. Her blessing is filled with light and love.
In questo disegno, che avrebbe dovuto chiamarsi Honey Moon ma che poi “ha scelto” di essere chiamato Blessed Bee, ho voluto includere tutte le fasi della luna in tre piccoli schemi che potrete confezionare come preferite: la triplice luna, la luna piena e quella crescente o calante. Io ne ho creato un puntaspilli, un ornament e un carinissimo needlebook. La fanciulla lunare dello schema più grande è colei che fa da tramite fra il mondo della luna, quello delle api e il nostro. La sua benedizione è piena di luce e amore.
Finally the fourth pattern is the sweetest of all, literally. So, what’s your favorite honey? Mine is the acacia one, but I love them all, and I’ve tried so many!
In this design I wanted to represent the different types of honey, the best known and most appreciated, each with its own pretty jar: acacia, millefiori and obviously the chestnut.
Infine il quarto schema è il più dolce di tutti, letteralmente. Qual è il vostro miele preferito? Il mio è quello di acacia, ma li amo tutti, e ne ho provati davvero tantissimi!
In questo disegno ho voluto rappresentare i diversi di miele, i più noti e apprezzati, ognuno con il suo grazioso vasetto: acacia, millefiori e ovviamente il castagno.
How about embroidering them, accompanying the pleasant afternoon with a nice slice of toasted bread with a layer of sweet honey?
