September First Camping Trip with Myla

Started out with Labor Day and Lucas had it off so Micah joined us on a bike ride. We we’re still watching the Millett’s so we had Jane sleep over so she could watch Myla while we rode. Then we had breakfast and hung out there and then had all the cousins over for a swim party to celebrate Alli & Jacobs birthday. Myla started developing a rash around her eyes and mouth that seems to be caused from heat. It flares up in the car and after naps. So hopefully it will go away soon. We had Sunday dinner with my family and the boys had fun laughing Myla around In a box. This week I filmed Traci Beagley and her breast cancer journey and it was very powerful and I’m glad I was able to be apart of bringing awareness to so many. I just had another afternoon with the Millett’s. Next I went to the library with Tayzia for baby Olympics.
Then that night we went to the ASU game with the Packard’s and Trennon & Cari Anne. We got shaved ice that smelt like gasoline so that was interesting. Next day we had Brady over and watched him for a few hours. Next day we went to visit Lucas at ATI physical therapy (his first clinical) and it was cool to see his workspace and Myla loved roaming around and the exercise ball.

That weekend I noticed I had some frad charges though my savings account which is super crazy they were able to hack into that since I don’t use my savings account for anything online. So we had to go get that shut down and open a new savings account. Also that weekend I filmed for the Mother Daughter Time to Blossom conference and Brooke white was the main speaker/entertainment and it was cool to be apart of that and learn some more about peoples experiences and how they got through them with the help of the Savior. I finished Erma Bodine’s life history and that feels like a huge burden lifted off of my shoulders! The following week was pretty slow, just play dates and hanging out with Myla.

Then the weekend we celebrated Audreys Birthday and went to Sauce for dinner where they announced that they were pregnant! I was so excited to hear that!! Then we went back to the Skousen’s and got our bikes loaded up and rode to Handel’s Ice Cream. Myla wasn’t a fan of the bike trailer and cried for quiet a while. But Brady was cute with her in helping her realize it’s fun. Then
Saturday we had Kennedy’s first bridal shower and she got lots of good stuff. Then us girls went over and helped clear out all of my moms shoes. We were pulling shoes from every place you could imagine. We ended up donating 6 boxes full of shoes (probably like 400 pairs) then she kept probably 100. Then we put 100 up for sale. It was nuts! But it needed to be done and hopefully she will wear all her shoes now that she can find them.

Sunday after church we headed up to Flagstaff for a little camping trip just the 3 of us. We went to Pinegrove and set up the trailer while Myla played in the truck. Luckily she loved to just stand in the drivers seat and pretend to drive. It was the best way to contain her while we set up camp.
We had campfire dinners that night and roasted Oreos and marshmallows. It got pretty cold and I was worried about Myla being warm enough so we had a couple layers on her, and put like 3 blankets on her. Oh an we forgot the pack n play so she was just on her own on the other side of the camper. So I was also worried about her falling off. I hardly slept cause I was thinking about Myla and making sure she didn’t fall off and had the blankets in her still.

Then she woke up probably around 2 or 3 am and I brought her to our bed and could actually sleep cause I knew she would be warm.

So the next day I was pretty tired, but we had breakfast and then went on a short hike that Myla wasn’t happy about when having to be on Lucas, but did great if I held her in the carrier.

We hung up at the top a little bit then we noticed the rain clouds were coming in so we got back down with clear skies and then stopped at the Mormon lake lodge and while we were there it started down pouring. We ate ice cream there then headed back to the campsite and luckily Myla fell asleep in the car which I was grateful for because I knew she could sleep there in the warmth and be comfortable. So Lucas hung out in the truck for an hour and a half while she slept and I took a nap in the trailer which was cold But relaxing to hear the rain. Once Myla was up we hung out in the trailer for a bit and the rain wasn’t letting up so we went to the mall in flagstaff to kill some time since we couldn’t be outside. Then we went to dinner at a southern BBQ place and I saw “pork rinds” in the menu as one of their popular items and I was thinking it was a burnt ends type of meat and it sounded really good. So when I ordered that Lucas looked at me funny and said that’s all you want?! I confidently said yeah it sounds good. He was like okaaaayyy. When they brought it out and I saw what it was I looked confused and Lucas said is this not what you thought it was? I said no I thought it was like the burnt ends of meat? And he just started laughing and said that’s why I asked if that’s all you wanted. So I told him he should of explained it to me if he knew it seemed funny that’s all I wanted. So I had to eat some of his plate to actually fill me up since the pork rinds are like eating air. But now I know that it’s not a meal and just an appetizer. We went back to the campsite and got ready for bed and watched a show and fell asleep pretty easily even though it was cold. Next day we packed up our site and went to the Toasted Owl for breakfast in Flagstaff and it was dang good. I got the breakfast tacos.

Then we went to Bearizona which was fun to see the bears, wolves, bighorn sheep. Myla loves being able to sit in the drivers seat. Then we did the little walk around area to kill time and then headed home at her nap time so she could sleep most the drive. It was a fun little getaway with the 3 of us.

The next day we had the Big Fake Wedding Bridal show which I was excited about. I got their when I was supposed to but had way too much time to kill. Did at the prep work then just waited for the portrait session which was nice to not have a photographer to work around for that. Then we had another big break before the guests arrived. Lucas was at the table while I was filming and we didn’t get too much traffic at the start, which was fine. Then we did the ceremony and it was dark which stunk. Then afterwards I was expecting to have a lot of people come to our booth to talk but hardly anyone did. It was a weird group of people. It felt like most people we’re very budget, and didn’t really care about video or making connections. So I definitely felt really defeated afterwards like it was a waste of time and money. But who knows maybe someone will book with us.

Friday I had off which was nice then Saturday I had a wedding, then the last two days of the month were church and just hanging out at the house and running errands with Myla.
