pantone 2 0 2 1 mittens
Pantone has chosen two shades for its Color of the Year 2021.
The bright yellow shade, called Illuminating, is meant to evoke the optimistic promise of a sunshine-filled day, while Ultimate Gray is a much quieter hue that speaks more of composure, steadiness and resilience.
PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Gray & PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating, two independent colors that highlight how different elements come together to support one another, best express the mood for Pantone Color of the Year 2021.
Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, the union of Ultimate Gray & Illuminating is one of strength and positivity. It is a story of color that encapsulates deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly.
A message of happiness supported by fortitude, the combination of grey & yellow is aspirational and gives us hope. We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit.
I love this color combination and the idea behind it. So i decided to crochet a pair of fingerless mittens in the Pantone colors of the year 2021.
The diagonal striped pantone 2021 mittens are available in my ETSY SHOP now.
For over 20 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design.
Every Pantone Color of the Year from 2000 - 2020 is shown HERE.

w is for weekend
W is for weekend
A (quite rare) weekend off.
Saturday morning with plenty of time to set the table festively and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
We both have a soft spot for setting the table nicely and literally pull out all the stops to make it as fun as possible.
Gradually we are decorating the house in a Christmas atmosphere, lights in the ginkgo tree, a star with lights in the kitchen window and Christmas greenery at the front door.
The grey W sweater was a joke-gift from Henk (woodwoolstool workwear) and the striped midi pencil skirt I've made some years ago. You can download the pattern in my ETSY SHOP.
Have a great weekend y'all!

transformative power of pillows
Love the transformative power of a few new pillows!
I've been working on twinning diagonal striped pillows with blue & turquoise and green & turquoise yarn from Marrakech.
I started the 'side projects' in June and it has taken quite a while to finish the diagonal duo!
Spice up the interior with a dash of color! Both diagonal striped cushions are available in my ETSY SHOP now.

la cucina
Latest addition to the kitchen:
A 'Casalino' chair by Alexander Begge for Casala, from the 1970s
Sometimes all it takes to add interest to the kitchen, is some unique shapes.
The round table and shapely chairs make the kitchen less kitchen and more dining room.
Since we got a round tulip table in the kitchen, we have been sitting here more often than before, and we already spent a lot of time in la cucina.

easy like sunday morning
Waking up at nine and getting out of bed at twelve.
Last night we traditionally celebrated a typical Dutch 'pakjesavond' with our family at Pippa's. We had such a lovely and cozy evening together. 'Sinterklaas' gifts under the Christmas tree, for this year it is Pippa's first Christmas tree in her own home. Joky and touching Sinterklaas poems, music and lots of fun memories of pakjesavond when the children were younger.
Perfect weekend sofar.

psychedelic pillow
Another unfinished project done.
The first stitches of this pillow I made last month and in the meantime I have made a mini collection of fingerless mittens.
This multicolored chevron pillow including innerpillow is now available in my ETSY SHOP.
The cushion has two different sides; the front side with multicolored (dark brown, rusty brown, orange brown, royal blue, lilac, dusty pink and ocher yellow, bright yellow, red, burgundy red, sand, turquoise and off white) chevron stripes and the back side in off white.
Would you rather make one yourself?
You can download the chevron pillow pattern in my ETSY SHOP too.
