Pi Hot Pads for Pi-Day

Math geeks all over the world celebrate Pi-Day on March 14th.  (You know...3.1415926 and all that.)  You'll be able to really geek-out your friends with these Pi Hot Pads.

(Disclaimer: Fairfield World and RJR Fabrics sent me some of the supplies to make these projects and Fairfield World compensated me for this post.  All opinions, ideas, and enthusiasm are 100% my own.)

You can go for the Pi Puns and grab your favorite pie filling in fabric form.  We had fun with this Cherry Pie.  (White fabric is Encyclopedia Galactica by Andover Fabrics.)

Or you can go for completely math-themed fabrics.  We loved the Geekery line by Sue Marsh for RJR Fabrics.  This uses Scientifically Speaking in White and Black as well as Graph paper in green.

Or you can go for classic black and white.  (Check out my favorite Coconut Cream Pie recipe here.)

You can find my complete step-by-step pattern and tutorial for making these Pi-Hot Pads on the Fairfield World site here.

35+ Crowd-Pleasing Recipes for Thanksgiving

Whether you're hosting the whole Thanksgiving Dinner this year or you've been assigned to bring a side dish or dessert, you're sure to find something to fit everyone's taste.  There's everything from traditional to unique, and vegan to bacon wrapped chicken.

It's time for another Block Party hosted by Rae Gun Ramblings Keeping It Simple Crafts | Pieces By Polly| Bite Size Biggie!  Be sure to check out all of our blogs, because we've been up to some fun things lately.
Polly here from Pieces by Polly.

I have to admit...I haven't posted any new projects on my blog since the last time I hosted because I've been SO busy designing and creating some new items for my Harry Potter Themed Etsy Shop so that it's well stocked for Christmas.  You can check them out here in my Pieces by Polly Shop on Etsy.
You can also find me hanging out here:

Before we move onto the party, I wanted to share some bitter-sweet news.  Tiffany from Making the World Cuter has decided to no longer host the weekly Block Party with us.  We'll miss her!  She could never be replaced, but we're excited to announce that Susan from Bite Size Biggie is joining the team to help us out in hosting.  Look forward to her introducing herself more in the couple weeks.

And while I've got your attention...We also wanted to let you know that we would LOVE if in addition to all of your fresh new projects you link-up every week, you also wanted to link up any oldie-but-goodie projects that fit each weeks link-up theme.

"Give Thanks" - Thanksgiving Cuddle Pillows

I'm so excited to share these "Give Thanks" Thanksgiving Pillows today.  I know for me Thanksgiving is often the holiday that I don't sew for.  Once Halloween comes, I throw myself fully into gear getting gifts ready for Christmas, so this year I wanted to do at least one project to add to my Thanksgiving decor.

Thanks to Fairfield World for providing me with the Pillow Inserts and fusible fleece and compensating me for writing this post.  All ideas and opinions are 100% my own.  Also thank you to Shannon Fabrics for providing the cuddle for previous projects and leaving me with enough fabric scraps to make these.

These could easily be done with regular quilting fabric, but my kids have been begging for more cuddle pillows.  I love the pop and extra dimension that the Rose Cuddle gives the words.

And the best part is that you could easily make them in an afternoon.

Skill Level: Intermediate if you're using Cuddle Fabric.  Beginner with some experience if you're using regular fabric.

Time: Make it in an afternoon.
