It's our final day for Barbara Close - Trees Workshop - Sigh!! I thoroughly enjoyed it and got lots of ideas.

This is my practice stuff during the class. Now to create good pieces BIG GRIN.

Barbara Close Trees Day 3

 

 

I really love doing Birch trees... silhouettes have their uses... doing Bark is challenging but I enjoyed the process. Took more than 6 layers of paint before I got a result I was happy with...

 I have mixed feelings for day 4... On the one hand I want the day to come, on the other hand, that means class will end - sigh!! I really enjoyed this class spread over weeks.

Barbara Close Trees - Day 3, another wonderful class. Some stuff I did during class. I really like my Birch trees. My silhouette trees need work... and forget about my backgrounds, definitely not worth showing... Now to do actual artwork with what I learned...

Barbara Close Trees - Day 2

Barbara Close Trees - Day 2 and we worked on Palm Trees and Leaves. Fun.

For both pieces I'm using calligraphy Computer fonts I recently came across and translated into a calligraphic hand. The palm tree with a pointed nib and the leaves with a Parallel pen.

  

 

Barbara Close - Day 1 - Finished pieces

 So I finished the 2 pieces I was practicing during day 1 class. I'm content. 

The black frame around the image is the way I'm binding my artwork. I'm not a fan of stab binding. I dislike that it doesn't lay flat and takes up a bunch of space for the binding...
