Doodled Weave - Your Imagination

size: 5.5"w x 6"h
On Edge Mixed Media paper drew my weave design using various sizes of Pitt Artist Fine Liner pens.  Colored the rocks using Posca colored pencils. Text outlined with a thin black Pitt pen and colored around the letters. Gold gel pen accents added.

WK3 - WOOF - Marcus Aurelius

Size: 6.25"w x 6"h
Using geli printed paper done on Columbia Mills LBS end paper mounted to a black cardstock.
I took a ZOOM class by Risa Gettler "Convergence of Cultures" thru the BVCG and loved the funkiness of the lettering. So decided to play... Used a ZIG Writer for the lettering. See the full text on their strips below.

Quote: Never forget that the universe is a single living organism possessed of one substance and one soul, holding all things suspended in a single consciousness and creating all tings with a single purpose that they might work together spinning and weaving and knotting whatever comes to pass. Removable Binding _ Weaving - Celtic Knotwork

I recently joined a Celtic Knotwork group hosted by Adrienne Waller from my Guild (BVCG.ca). Since I've been having so many problems with my computers... I haven't actually joined one meeting, but did get the recordings and the info download pages, so I've been practicing. But then ending up with pages I know I'm going to loose... So decided to but them in one of my hand made booklets - this one I love since I can remove any page and insert a new one in it's place. So easy...

But then I wanted to put a cover on it... So decided to make use of a bunch of small scrap end pieces of cardstock. (I save all this stuff - go figure...) and wove the front and back covers.

I'm pleased with the results...

Weaving - In TheTapestry

After creating the 1st 4 Mini Books with the Phyllis Cole-Dai poetry, I had a bunch of scrap ends... Throw them away or do something with them - sigh!!

You know me... hard for me to throw something away - and here's another sigh!!

So I trimmed them down and created the weave piece. Then I looked up quotes using a weaving theme and voila. I mounted it on a deep blue/teal background. That's one of the hardest things to capture in a photo.

MC Jul/17 - Ribbon Weave - ECD Happy Birthday - We Cannot Tell

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2017/MCJuly17_RibbonWeave_ECDHappyBirthday_WeCannotTell.html
I've been challenged to make cards or things using ribbon... this woven piece was a scrap laying on my desk from a card I'll be uploading later in August... I had created a woven piece on the diagonal using Sari ribbon (my favorite ribbon...). I used "Cupcake" (Sorbet would look similar) and "Glint" (Check out the ribbon section at Quietfire Design.

I'm using an A Way With Words die "Happy Birthday" 2pce die

MC Jan/17 - Easel Quill - ECD Celebrate - The Earth Laughs - HB

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2017/MCJan17_EaselQuill_ECDCelebrate_TheEarthLaughs_HB.html

I seem to be in a slump creatively speaking. Can't seem to stay concentrated on creating... I'd be reading my book and then spend 10 minutes here or there to add stuff to a card... I hope this passes soon and I get back to spending all day creating... But even still I'm very happy with the results.

Love the brown cardstock I used from (paper-Garden.ca "Flavours Gourmet Cardstock - Moroccan Cocoa"). All the quilled elements are from my 2016 stash done with the gals at quilling sessions. The weaving is another way to use your scraps.

I'm using an A Way With Words die from Elizabeth Craft Designs "Celebrate" also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And I'm using a quote and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design ("The Earth Laughs In Flowers" 2pce set); ("Twirl and Enjoy" 3pce set); ("Happy Birthday Plain and Simple" 7pce set)
