Fernhill

2013 Summer

Fernhill by based on the design Fernhill by Lynette Anderson, with some real quilting added. I was lerning free motion quilting, applique basics and putting the block together. The animals are hand stitched, all other by machine.

I joined a quilting course in last July due to this design - I was thinking and rethinking almost for a year whether I really need a new hobby on top of stitching :) This was how it started and no stopping since.

Some progress  pics.

Új szenvedély - New passion

Jól eltűntem, de megvan rá az okom: beleugrottam a foltvarrásba. Már több, mint egy éve nézegettem Lynette Andson Fernhill mintáját, de nem akartam még egy új hobbit találni, hisza régire is alig van időm. De azután győzött a szívem, amit egy éven keresztül ennyire akarok, az tényleg kell. Úgyhogy kapóra jött, hogy pont indult foltvarró tanfolyam nyár közepén, és Andris is nagyszülőkkel volt hétközben a bölcsiszünet miatt, úgyhogy belevágtam! A gyökerek persze nincsenek messze, a hímzés  megmaradt, mégha nem is keresztszem, hanem sima kontúröltés is a kép. És ami hihetetlen - mennyire haladós! Itt még csak a kezdet, de jön a folytatás is!

I have disappeared for a while, but I have good reason: Yes I have a new hobby, it is patchwork. I was thinking about Lynette Anderson's supercute desing, Fernhill, for almost a year, but I did not want to start another time, space (and money) consuming hobby. But after a year I convinced myself:   It is a must! And I found a beginners course close to our flat, grandparents wanted holiday time with the little one, so everything was perfect. However, I do not forget my roots, so I started with some stitching. I was surprised how quick it goes compared to cross stitch - well it is only backstitching, so my needdles are flying. These are the photos I took a month ago, and next time I will show the result!
