First finish - new pillow to the sisterhood

Writing a year-wrap helps to kick in the new year as well! 

I was pushing forward finishing the 3rd pillow, because when I did my list of nice things from 2021, I realised it is really a small thing to finish the 3rd pillow and move this project as far as I can. There is 2 more circles waiting to be finished, but one is not too nice neither the design nor the work how I put it together, and the other is waiting for a partner. I also out of blue background, so either I buy new (I have huge amount of fabric, so I would rather skip) or chose something from stash, but that blows up the symmetry. So I am at the moment happy with my 3 pillows and even more happy that I have something out of my sewing machine. The pattern of the pillows is from the quilt Round the Year by betukbandi.

 

 

 

Pillows

I was waiting for 5 minutes of free time since Spring to fix my husband's pillow. He is using a long pillow, and it was quite used, and low on feather, so he got a new one. The old one was sitting in a corner of the wardrobe to be fixed as a couch pillow. After several months I took the 5 minutes and cut it to a smaller sized cover and created a perfectly stuffed little pillow. I need only a new sheet to use it!

When I ordered a fabric for my sister-in-law I also ordered a stuffing material. I chosed a big one (5kg) of siliconed puff, and it came in a huge packet. I sewed up 3 pillowcases and stuffed them (~650g each). They still look a little bit bumpy, but I will smoothen them out soon.

Kész a párna! / Pillow is ready and in use!

Tegnap megvarrtam, és átadtam boldog tulajdonosának a hardangeres kispárnát, nagy sikere volt! Andris ide-oda szaladgált vele, alig tudtam egy fotó erejéig leültetni.

Yesterday I finished the hardanger pillow and gave it to its happy new owner. It was a great success, Andris was running up and down with it, I could hardly take a photo of them!

Minden kezdet nehéz

Már régóta tervezgetem, hogy egyszer nekiállok a blogomnak, de valahogy sosem vitt rá eddig a lélek. Ne de most! Elhatározásom tett követte, és mivel apró fiam csendben alszik, elhatároztam, hogy nekiugrom és megírom az első bejegyzést.

A blogot oly sok társamhoz hasonlóan a hímzéseimnek szentelem. Első remekművem gimnázium 3. osztályából származik, a ballagó 4.eseknek kellett tarisznyát hímezni Rákóczi mintával.

Annyira megtetszett a dolog, hogy utána rögtön nagy fába vágtam a fejszém, és megleptem nagymamámat egy párnával. A fotó egyedi jellegét kiemeli a jobb lábfejem, ami kicsit belógott...

A következő újra egy párna volt, édesanyámnak készült hosszú hónapok kitartó munkájával. A szélső minta mindenféle csodatechnikás, subrika, azsúr, hosszúazsúr és ami még eszetekbe jut. Nagyon mutatós, de nem volt egy gyors alkotás...

Itt még a fonalakról és az anyagokról semmit sem tudtam, gimnazista diákként két kritérium számított: a helyi boltban legyen belőle, és minél kevesebbe kerüljön ...

Működik az időutazás! Most ugyan július van, de én visszarepülök egy kicsit. 2011 júniusa lesz a Múlt (hmm...) ide kerül minden olyan bejegyzés ami a más kész darabokkal kapcsolatos. Éljen a technika!
