Big Ben

Today I was walking past a little shop when I spied this beauty inside!! A fabulous big clock!!!! I thought it would be ideal for a little area at the base of my stairs but it was way too big for that so after a bit of fluffy around with Mr FH holding the clock up  against the wall in various locations I decided to hang it on the wall in our dining area. When we first bought the beach house (2 1/2 yrs ago) I framed these gorgeous prints from a calendar and hung them there as we had too many other things that we needed to buy before we could get to the tizzy bits!! I really liked them so they remained until today!  I decided they would move to the base of the stairs but in moving them I smashed the glass in one so I need to have that replaced before I can show you!
This is what the dining room wall looked like…

Not sure that Mr FH was that crazy about it until our son and his fiancĂ© came to stay and they loved it so I think that convinced him it was ok.  You can still see the hangers from the prints still on the wall near the clock…I was a bit excited about photographing my new favourite thing!!! I have since removed them and touched up the paint!

This gorgeous new lamp was a gift from a friend at Christmas. Just perfect!
This is our last week at the beach house. It’s going to be hard to go home to the farm after 6 weeks. We will still spend most weekends here for the rest of the summer though. Back to work next Tuesday!

Paris, here I come!

No,I haven’t been to Paris for my week off…but boy, do I wish I had!! This is an old post I did with these gorgeous French
plates and as I really wanted to join Kathleen’s destination party this week I had to come up with something and this is it!! I hope you all enjoy travelling around the world!
I hope you all had a really wonderful weekend - Mr FH and I went to our beach house again - we are slowly getting it to look like home for us. The weather was very cold but we had our two daughters and their families join us also my sister and her family visit for the first time so we had a lovely night together on Saturday.
I'm joining Mosaic Monday with a few photos of my French table I did last week - I hope you enjoy them..

Have a lovely week,

Suzy

Seasonal Sunday

Before Easter I had been looking for some small white eggs to ModPodge some tissue paper onto and I could only find these brown paper ones. I had ideas to paint these white then cover them but thankfully I didn’t get it done (surprise!!surprise!!).
I had seem some stamped with small black letters but I didn’t have any stamps that small but did find some rub-ons in my scrapbooking stash so I used them. Super easy and super quick and I love them.
I needed to change my tabletop display in my familyroom and as we are coming into autumn here in Australia I was looking for a more natural look. Not easy in a pink and green Shabby chic room but I think they fit in perfectly.

Ohh la la!!

Does your heart ever skip a beat when you see something in a shop you just have to have???  Mine did this the other day but lucky for me it was on the 'special' table... I found these fabulous little french plates the other day and just loved them. When I got them home I really didn't have much to go with them so I really had to have a good look around to make this tablescape.

Don't you just love this French poodle out shopping with the girls?

Looks like Pierre has found his girl here on the bench....

I love a shopping bag - signs of a good day!!

I have bought this gorgeous black wrought iron Eiffel Tower ready for the French look in holiday house.

I used black and white ribbon to tie the white flat ware and popped it in this cute little hot pink bucket.

Can you see the fabulous pink shoes I added to the wine glasses - somehow they don't look like shopping shoes to me..

The balck and white striped napkins look great with the black cloth and white placemats - I was going to use my lovely white chargers but the table was just to small and looked to cramped.

These lanterns I already had  in the cupboard - they are actually battery operated so I am keen to see how they look in my pergola. Perhaps I'll try them when the nights are a little warmer.

This is such a nice sunny spot by this window - the sun beats in here a bit on summer mornings but it is a nice warm spot on a winter morning.

I love these lanterns - there are two more, purple and blue. They are actually made out of a very fine fabric not paper so they should last a little longer.

Sorry about the reflection in this shot - I just couldn't seem to get the photo without it.

Hope you'll join me under the Eiffel Tower for lunch.
