You Are 2 Sweet ~ Papertrey Ink Challenge

gifttagmaureenplut

Hello!  Today’s project was inspired by the Papertrey Ink Anniversary challenges that are going on right now.  This time we are asked to make a gift tag and gift box ensemble.  I fudged a bit on the gift box and am using this sweet little pail I picked up at Target.  I filled it with things that are pink and red and attached the sweet little tag :)

This is sitting on our most lovely secretary’s desk waiting to surprise her.  She is so sweet that I told her she can’t retire until I do!  Some of you may remember the green surprise I left her last year for St. Patrick’s Day…I thought I’d mix it up a bit this year :)

The original idea came from this blog I pinned from Pinterest.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week :)

Envelope Wraps ~ Make it Monday

evelopeflagmaureenplut

Good morning friends!  I couldn’t resist this fun project idea for the PTI Make it Monday challenge.  Danielle shows us how to make these cute envelope wraps (hmm, that almost sounds delicious!).  It was the perfect project for me to break open my Simon Says Stamp set Envelope Sentiments that I bought last year! YIKES!!

Here’s the back of the envelope…I love all the sentiments in this set, especially “Precious Cargo.”  That’s what I call the DH to remind him to wear his seatbelt :)

Here’s a look on my desk after I put a new scratch paper down ;)

A Little Green Surprise!

green fun
Hi friends!  As we get closer to St. Patrick’s Day, I feel a little sad that I haven’t done it up right this year here on the blog {insert sad face here}.  I’ve just had to let it go and know that my focus for the next 2 years is on something wonderful.  I can’t beat myself up for not doing it all.  I did do something fun this week, though, and thought I’d share this cute idea I saw on Pinterest while doing a “St. Patrick’s Day” search.
St. Patrick's Day Teacher Gift

It’s meant for a teacher, but I made one for our amazing secretary.  She has a heart of gold so it was easy and fun to pick out a bunch of green items on my shopping trip last weekend.  Here’s what’s in it:
St. Patrick’s Day necklace, Glysomed lotion, hand sanitizer, green Extra gum, green container of M&Ms, green Aero bar, green notepad, green paper clips, green Easter cream egg, green Skittles, and all in a green flower tin I found at Target.
I put it by our secretary’s computer Monday morning with one of my St. Patrick’s Day cards (see post HERE)  :)

Well, that’s it for me today.  I’m reviewing the new BC Draft Curriculum today so it will be a great day talking education with colleagues :)  I hope your Wednesday is fabulous too!

Cool Christmas Tags!

christmastagsmaureenplut

Good morning friends!  I was busy making my Christmas gift tags last night.  I saw this cool idea somewhere a few months ago and for some reason didn’t pin it or save an image of it.  I may have seen it in a magazine at the gym…I really can’t remember!  BUT I kept it in my head because I thought it was so fabulous.  Just print out pictures of the gift recipient in black and white!  No writing necessary and they’ll certainly remember who gave them this awesome present and tag!  After printing out the photos on photo paper, I made a template out of an acrylic sheet with the tag dies I wanted to use…

Then it was easy to align the die over the part of the photo I wanted to use.  I made up a quick gift bag to see the full effect.

I’ll gussie this up a bit more, but you get the idea!  How cool!  Thanks for popping by…4 more work days!

Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial ~ Purse Papers

pursepapersinside

Good morning!  It’s hump day and that means the new Splitcoast Stampers newsletter has come out and there’s a tutorial there by me! EEK!  I feel a little out of my league over there, but Julee from Verve had faith that I could pull it off and asked if I would create a tutorial on these Purse Papers I made over two years ago.  Here’s a peek at the finished project.  To see the whole tutorial, click HERE :)  Thanks for stopping by and please make sure to let me know if you make this project.  I would love to see your take on it :)  Hugs!

Anni-VERVE-sary Release ABC Challenge

giftcardbookmarks

Hi everyone!  I’m sneaking this post in before today’s Spotlight Hop goes live.  There’s one more Anni-VERVE-sary Release Challenge today and my project has a few extra pictures so I thought it deserved its own post :)  My twin niece and nephew from Texas are here with my sister and brother in law.  When they come to visit, I like to get them GCs to our local bookstore, Chapters.  They are old enough now that they love to pick out their own books or paraphernalia.  Once I had these colourful GCs, I thought it would be fun to make matching bookmarks  to dress up the gift card sleeves.

On the back, I stamped a background with stamps used on the front and added their names. Funny story…when Ava was little and people asked her name, she would answer, “Ava.”  Then they’d ask her what her other name was and she’d say, “JackandAva.”

Here’s a close up with some sneaky sneak peeks of new Verve being released in one week…yes, 7 more days!  ACK! Can you wait?!

Bookmarks are a perfect gift for the twins…they have ALWAYS loved books.  Truly, they could sit through a whole book since they were babies.  And one was never enough.  Here they are during one of my visits to Texas…I think they are about 2 or 3 here :)  Hey, they are even wearing colours that would match the book marks! LOL

They were also the flower girl and ring bearer (or ring man as Jack would say) at my wedding 5 years ago.  Jack has his “game face” on.

Pretty little flower girl…

Here’s Jack getting ready at my place before the wedding…not impressed and I’m sure rethinking the “ring man” gig.

The twins joined my in the studio Wednesday for a little stamping session.  They were so cute!  Will post about that next week :)  Okay, come back in a few hours for today’s Spotlight Hop and join in the fun!  There are a TON of prizes with all the celebrations going on…all the details are on the Verve Blog! Thanks for visiting :)
