Be Mine ~ Make it Monday

Happy Polar Vortex Sunday!  Well, after a pretty mild winter, the BC interior is being hit with -18 degree Celsius ( - 27 with the windchill!) weather.  So the best way to stay warm and happy was to spend it in the studio making a few more Valentine's cards to take to school tomorrow.  I was happy to use the little heart cutouts from the Shakers and Sprinkles Make it Market kit for my take on this week's Make it Monday challenge.  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you are staying warm!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Sunday, friends!  Spent a few happy hours in the studio today and got to play along with PTI's Make it Monday (on a Sunday!).  I loved the simple design of Michelle's card so I used it to create 2 Valentine's cards.  The first one uses a heart embossing folder with a heart frame and the second one uses a large polka dot embossing folder with a circle frame like Michelle's.

Thanks for stopping by!

Let it Snow ~ Make it Monday

Hello!  I've been happily creating in the studio this morning.  I didn't think I would participate in this week's Make it Monday challenge because I didn't have a good tree stamp...WAIT!  I do!  Does anyone else have the classic Lovely as a Tree by Stampin' Up?  Oh, my...I still have it!  One of those sets you never get rid of.  It was perfect for my project.  I added a sweet sentiment from Snowfall Style :)  Thanks for visiting!

Happy New Year and New Year's Mantra!

Happy New Year, friends!  I love when our Christmas Break starts close to Christmas so we have a nice week after to clean up the decorations and PLAY in the studio.  I love being able to play with PTI's Make it Monday early rather than scrambling to create something last minute on a Sunday.  It's the A La Carte time so we get to pick a challenge we missed.  Can you believe, that was a challenge?  I've played along with most of them but did find one that I missed...#312, Framing Sentiments and Images with Laurie.  Though my poinsettias are done now, I was happy to make one more for my card that will make it's way to my cousin in the States.

I'm also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Something New.

Speaking of PLAY...this is my "one word/New Year's Mantra" for the year.  Being a Grade One teacher means that this word is always around me and a big part of what I try to bring into my class.  However, it really became imprinted on my heart this summer when I bought a bracelet at a local market.  The bracelet had a "2018" charm on it so I asked if I could change it out.  The artist opened her charm container and the first one I saw was "PLAY."  I picked it right away.  So now it's my mantra for the year (and forever!).  I'll leave you with a photo of the bracelet and some playful quotes...to see more, visit my Pinterest New Year's Mantra board.  You'll also see quotes from past mantras.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Time of Love and Cheer

Hello!  I went out early to hit Costco so I've been home for awhile waiting for our house guests to arrive.  It was the perfect opportunity to make a card for this week's PTI's Make it Monday challenge using ombre sentiments.  I love the soft look of this tag.  Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you find time to get inky over the holidays!

Merry ~ Make it Monday

Hello friends!  I'm back today with my take on PTI's Make it Monday challenge.  We are asked to use a die cut focal point.  I created a layered poinsettia with a sparkly word die cut out of glitter corrugated cardboard.  I've embellished with a few sequins.  Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas ~ Make it Monday

Hello friends!  This is my PTI's Make it Monday on a Sunday card!  I'm knee deep into report cards today, but needed a little break in my happy place :)  I love the dimension of Betsy's technique so I gave it a whirl.  I used Yupo transparent paper to create my stencils/masks and some non permanent tape runner to hold everything in place as I sponged.  Here's the photo map of what I did...

It was definitely fun to peel off all the layers to see the final product!  Thanks for stopping by!

Merry Christmas

Greetings, friends!  If it seems like it's full blown Christmas here on the blog, you are correct!  For some reason I've been inspired to start Christmas early here...maybe it's those gorgeous Painted Poinsettias or that fabulous font from Penned Elegance: Christmas, I just don't know!  This card was created for Dawn's Make it Monday challenge.  We were asked to make a painted brushstroke background.  I used my Dina Wakely acrylic paints in various blues and silver.  Thanks for stopping by!

Joy

Hello friends, I'm back with my take on PTI's Make it Monday challenge.  We could either make a banner or use a banner on our card.  I chose to make a card.  I used a jumbo fishtail die to create my banner and then decorated it with Snowfall Style snowflakes and one of my favourite words, "joy."  Thanks for visiting :)

Thank You Ever So Much

It was another fun morning in the studio today.  I try to treat myself on a long weekend and get in some inky time :)  I am embracing the gorgeous fall colours and PTI's Make it Monday challenge with this card.  I used my Text and Texture: Leaves stamp set for the first time and it did not disappoint!  It's hard to see all its beauty after die cutting this frame so I saved the inside die cut for another card :)   I cannot waste any of these gorgeous leaf images. Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing You Joy

Hello!  Today I'm sharing my take on PTI's Make it Monday challenge to use packaging dies on a card.  I chose the tag Enclosed: Bell die to make this wedding card.  I kept everything in white with some shimmer paper and shimmer cardstock.  Thanks for stopping by!

Live to Inspire ~ Make it Mondays

Hi friends!  I'm sneaking my take on PTI's Make it Monday under the wire here...busy weekend, but LOVE Laurie's tutorial so much including her layout...so I'm CASEing her.  I changed the background stamp, colours, and sentiment, but the card is all Laurie's.  Here it is in autumn rose :)

I used gold, silver, and rose gold (from the 90's!) embossing powder.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great start to your week :)
