Sending Birthday Hugs & Wishes

Hello, friends!  I snuck downstairs for a little inky session.  I've got back to school on my brain and have been in my classroom these past 3 days setting things up, making things, buying things, and easing myself into being at the school after a lovely summer break.  I am totally CASEing Dawn's Make it Monday card with a few tiny adaptations with the sentiment and the background grid design.  I used the OLD, or should I say CLASSIC, Background Basics: Retro set to create my backgrounds on both cards.  My white craft ink didn't show up that well so before it dried, I hit it with some white embossing powder.  I tried it in pink as well, like Dawn did.

Hello friends!  I'm back from a little getaway on the long weekend (BC Day) to visit family and friends.  It felt good to come back to a CLEAN studio and some new goodies I'll have to unpack.  I made this card for PTI's Make it Monday.  I used a tiny floral from a retired Verve set (Autumn Blessings) to create the patterned background and a super old PTI Birthday Basics.  It's a classic, really! Thanks For All You Do ~ PTI Blog Hop

Hello friends!  I was a little leery about this month's inspiration photo for the PTI July Blog Hop.  I don't have many "nautical" stamps (except the lighthouses) so I went with a colour inspiration...all those beautiful blues with pops of white and red!  I picked up an old friend again (Gran's Garden) and pulled out a bunch of blue inks and went to town.  I think I love the simplicity of Gran's Garden...not too many dies and a simple 2 step stamping that looks great everytime.  I'm also using the Make it Monday challenge of "Repeating a Greeting."   I can't wait to see if any of my PTI peeps did the same with the colour, not the topic.  Thanks for stopping by!

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Hello friends!  Oh my!  Here it is already the second week of vacation and my posts have been few and far between.  With no design team duties this summer, I feel a little lost without scheduled studio time.  However, I wrote it down on my to do list today..."make cards."  This sweet number is for this week's PTI's Make it Monday challenge.  It was a challenge to find a line image in my stash!  I don't colour and rarely water colour so I typically buy full image or 2/3 step stamping.  I had to use some retired Verve stamps and mix them with some favourite PTI sets.  Thanks for stopping by!

With Heartfelt Sympathy ~ Make it Monday

Hello friends!  I've been spending the morning in the studio watching the snow melt outside. Yes! Snow!  We were hit with a small but blustery blizzard last night...just when we thought Spring was here.  But the sun is out now, so hopefully we see grass soon!  This card is for this week's PTI Make it Monday challenge: adding colour to outline images.  As I was looking through my PTI sets, I soon noticed that I have very little outline image sets.  That's because I'm not a colourer! I prefer solid images along with the outlines.  So I had to find something in my Verve stamps to help me out.  This was such a quick and easy card to make and it felt so good to just stamp, no die cutting.  Have a great week!  Thanks for stopping by.

Awesome, Wonderful ~ Make it Monday

Happy weekend, friends!  I had a small window of free time today so I filled my coffee cup and headed straight into the studio to make a card for this week's Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge.  We are to be inspired by the colour wheel.  I had been thinking about this challenge all week and what shapes/images I could use for the colour wheel.  I have been using the timeless Heart Prints set lately so I punched out 6 hearts and crossed my fingers they would fit perfectly around the sentiment circle...they DID!  Oh my, I literally squealed!  I didn't think this card needed any more embellishments, no twine, no sequins, I just wanted those beautiful coloured hearts to take center stage.  Thanks for stopping by!
