Let It Snow with Pink Paislee 41

Mona Pendleton | Tuesday, December 18, 2012 @ 11:53 PM | , , , , ,

***I have two posts today, if you are looking for my MFTWSC103 post, please click HERE :) Thank You***

Welcome to Day 19 of the Countdown to Christmas event! Hope you are enjoying all the amazing Christmas inspiration from the Pink Paislee DT thus far! Sadly all good things must come to an end. This will be my last assignment as a Pink Paislee DT Member. Thank you so much Rebecca for the wonderful opportunity to design for your amazing company!
Today I have a mixed media Christmas holiday home decor project to share featuring pretty patterned paper from the City Sidewalks Collection along with City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard. To create this project, I first adhered pretty City Sidewalks Story Time to the wooden wall hanging then randomly applied heidi swapp Tropicana Teal and Tinsel Color shine along with Gesso. I made a die cut cardstock banner using Die-namics Fishtail Banner which showcases shimmery metallic Portfolio - Alphabet Stickers that add a wonderful sparkle to the project :)
The center snowflake embellishment was made using Sizzix Tim Holtz Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die / Snowflake Rosette to die cut a piece of City Sidewalks Special Delivery. Once the the die cut snowflake embellishment was made, I layered a few City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard then topped it off with a crystal brad.
On each side of the main snowflake embellishment are more layered snowflakes made using Sizzix Tim Holtz - Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Mini Paper Rosettes along with more beautiful Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard.
Thanks so much for visiting! Be sure to visit the Pink Paislee blog as there are lots of prizes to be had!
Wishing you all a joyous holiday season!
Be Sweet ;)

Christmas Tags... 39

Mona Pendleton | Sunday, December 16, 2012 @ 12:58 AM | , , , , , ,

Hello! Hope you are all having a great weekend! It's been raining cats and dogs here in Phoenix. Although the desert is in much need of rain, I personally still prefer blue sunny skies and so do my little four legged furry friends who don't care to get their paws wet!

I had some time to get crafty last night so I made a few gift tags that will come in handy as I am putting the finishing touches on a few gifts :) I combined fun patterned paper from the Pink Paislee Citysidewalks collection with various Die-namics dies and MFT stamps.
I stamped the smaller die cut tag that was made using Die-namics Traditional Tags STAX with the "To" and "From" sentiments from MFT Christmas Ornaments then attached to the main tag using MFT Hemp Cord and a MFT Kraft button.
Both tags are very similar with the exception of the patterned paper and the die cut doily that is layered behind the chipboard Christmas tree.
For the tree embellishment, I started with a "naked" chipboard Christmas tree, painted it with gesso, spritzed with heidi swapp Chartreuse Color shine then finished it with a layer of  glitter.
For sketch inspiration, I joined along with the deconstructed Sketch challenge:
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi there! Thank you for the sweet comments on my latest posts! I hope you have been inspired to create :)

***WARNING ~ This post contains lots of photos so I hope you sit back and enjoy ;)***

Welcome to the MFT New Product Tour, where you'll get a look at ALL the new stamp sets one more time. You can finalize your wish list and head over to the MFT Boutique to SHOP until your hearts content! All the new products are available NOW, right HERE.
I created an altered mixed media Valentine's Day mini album for my sweetheart Scott while focusing on the beautiful Lovey-Dovey Sentiments stamp set. I've also included many fun sentiments from LLD Document It - Captured Memories

The cover features a sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments which I stamped on a die cut strip made using Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon. I layered the sentiment on a die cut frame made using Die-namics Insert It - InstaFrame and surrounded the framed photo with various die cut flowers including a Paver Red blossom made using Die-namics Winter Rose.
I've included a few stamped images from Inspired by Love like the sweet cupid shown below:
More blossoms including Die-namics Plentiful Petals
Page two features a sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments that I stamped on a die cut made using Die-namics Postage Stamp STAX:
More blossoms:
Page three features a sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments which I stamped on a Die-namics Postage Stamp STAX die cut.

Nothing like a corrugated cardboard heart ;)
Page four features the I (heart) you sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments framed with a metal trinket frame:
I simply stamped the sentiment, trimmed to fit inside frame, layered and adhered on book:
More blossoms including Die-namics Upsy-Daisy:
Page five features another beautiful image from  Inspired by Love

Page six features another sweet sentiment from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments:

Page seven features one of my favorite sentiments from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments along with a big corrugated cardboard heart made using Die-namics Layered Heart:

I finished the last page with yet two more sentiments from Lovey-Dovey Sentiments: The larger one stamped on a die cut made using Die-namics Postage Stamp STAX:
and the Sweet sentiment framed in a decorative metallic frame:
I wrapped up the book with a garden full of die cut flowers along with a pretty flourish made using Die-namics Sentimental Flourish
Shown below are the Die-namics I used to create my mini album today that are included in the December release:

It's time to head over to the MFT Blog to see what the rest of the team is up to. Be sure to check out all the designers' creations to get one last look at every stamp set releasing tonight.

Welcome...MFT November Creative Challenge 62

Mona Pendleton | Monday, November 26, 2012 @ 10:00 PM | , , , , , , , , , ,

Hi there! Hope you are all off to a great start of the Holiday Season! I'm here to share a project for the MFT Design Team December Creative Challenge.
In case you are not familiar, the MFT Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we are challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product, or technique. This month, we were challenged to create Holiday Home Decor using our MFT Stamps and Die-namics. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have a project to share with you today.

I created a mixed media holiday wall hanging using a variety of Die-namics along with several MFT stamp sets. After creating the textured brick wall, I randomly stamped the larger dots from LJD Darling Dots on the wall for a little added texture and depth. I think it also adds character ;) LOL
I added a trio of multi-layered Poinsettias that were made using Die-namics Poinsettia  which I sprayed using heidi swapp Sweet Cherry Color shine. I finished them off with a dusting of glitter and a rhinestone brad.
Tucked behind the Poinsettias are beautiful die cut flourishes that were made using Die-namics Medium Fancy Flourish and Die-namics Large Leafy Flourish.
I made a couple of Christmas tree topiaries using Die-namics Jumbo Banner Day STAX. Once the trees were die cut, spritzed and assembled, I randomly stamped using LJD Darling Dots. The pots were made using Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and each topped off with a star made using Die-namics Star STAX.
Once the wooden door was completed with all the texture and color, I adhered a die cut wreath that was made using Die-namics Winter Wreath and fashioned a stamped sentiment on it. The 'Tis the Season sentiment is from Inspired by Christmas and was stamped on a die cut strip that was made using Die-namics Sentiment Strips
In case you are interested in a nearly step by step more detailed tutorial, please take a peek at the tutorial I put together shown below:

Thanks so much for visiting! I hope you enjoyed my mixed media holiday wall hanging as much as I enjoyed creating it! Remember to check out the MFT Blog for a list of all participating designers who have put their MFT stamps and/or Die-namics dies to work to create a Holiday Home Decor project for you today!
Be Sweet :)
