Fitztown - Animal

The theme over at Fitztown Challenge blog is 'Animals' and here's my card using Fish Comb 2 from the Fitztown store. Pop over there and see all the images - you'll find loads of lovely digis.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen and is an 8x8 square. I coloured the fish with my Promarkers and then decided to cut them out individually and have them swimming in water - original, eh? lol I used an image from the internet for the background which I altered to suit my fish. I used a Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle Iridescent spray on the paper to make it look sparkly and I also used it on the fish after I'd coloured them - it makes them look really good but you can't spot that on my photo. I matted the water image on to silver card. The sentiment was generated on the computer and cut with a Spellbinders classic oval matted on to a silver scalloped oval. The only additional embellishment was a small silver starfish charm which I fixed in the bottom right corner. I bought the charm from Crafty Bitz.

MAWTT 3 2 1 Recipe

Come and join us at Moving Along with the Times challenge this week. It's Jessie's turn to host and she chose the theme of a 3 2 1 Recipe - 3 colours, 2 papers, 1 image. Here's my card:

My three colours are blue, green and orange and the two backing papers are from a Papermania pack. The image is by Linnie of Whoopsidaisy and is on her CD called 'Daisy and Friends' by Joanna Sheen. I've used this image a few times now. He's such a lovely little boy, even if I have put him in double denim! lol

The small card blank is by Craft UK. I coloured him with my Promarkers and after cutting with my x cutter I edged with Distress Ink. The papers were matted on to Papermill's lime green card. The Spellbinders number 2 die was cut in one of the papers and added to an orange Nellie Snellen diecut.

Fitztown - Fall Colours

This is my card for the challenge over at the Fitztown Challenge Blog - Fall Colours. I chose the image Garden 6 because I reckoned the chickens would be perfect in Fall Colours or as we would say here in the UK, Autumn Colours. Check out the fantastic images here and you'll find my image and lots of other images suitable for this challenge.

My card is an 8x8 square by Joanna Sheen. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then cut it with the Spellbinder classic square, backing it with the scalloped square. The orangey/red card is by Papermill and I used two different shades for the mat, image mat and sentiment backing. The backing paper is from a First Edition pad called Hideaway. I used a mix of Spellbinder dies to cut some leaves to follow through the Fall/Autumn theme, though it's only the colours that are necessary for the challenge. The sentiment was generated on the computer, cut with more Spellbinder dies, and I think I should tell you that this is a term of endearment in this area of the UK. lol

MAWTT - Add Texture

It's Tammy's turn to host the challenge this week over at Moving Along with the Times and she chose the theme of 'Add Texture'. Here's my card -
It's a 6x6 card blank by Craft UK. The dark brown pearlescent card is by Papermill and the fluffy animal print felt is by Hobbycraft.

This stamp is by Clarity and I bought it because it reminds me of Maisie, our Maine Coon cat, when she was a baby. She was a BIG cat but she thought she was a BIG CAT and acted accordingly, hence the felt! lol I coloured the image with my Promarkers before cutting with a Spellbinders die. I used another fancy Spellbinders die for the shape in the bottom corner and I attached a Crafty Bitz charm of two cats to it. The only other embellishment is a Meow paw print button from Create and Craft.

Fitztown - Fantasy

The theme at Fitztown Challenge Blog is 'Fantasy' and here's my card showing the image Le 3 by Fitztown and you can check out the fantasy images, Last Enchanter, here.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and then cut carefully around it leaving a small white border. I had prepared my 8x8 Joanna Sheen card blank into an easel card and on the front of the easel I matted some black glitter paper which I bought at a craft fair a few years ago. It's got a sticky back and clings to the card as soon as it gets anyway near it so you have to be very careful - maybe that's why I don't use it very often. lol On the base of the easel I matted some Costco mottled green paper and then generated a sentiment on the computer as the stop. I used black Distress Ink on the edges of the sentiment and raised it on foam pads. I added a dark green button to each end. The diecuts are made with a Spellbinder die and are in dark green Papermill card.

MAWTT - A Stitch in Time

This week the theme is 'A Stitch in Time' set by big boss Hazel (Didos). Come along and join us at Moving Along with the Times.

My card blank is by Joanna Sheen. The pink card is by Papermill and the glitter card is from a craft fair. I used some yellow pearlescent card from Hobbycraft and embossed it with a Crafter's Companion embossalicious folder before matting it on to the Papermill pink card as the base for my stamped image. This is a very old rubber stamp by Joanna Sheen and I stamped it in Memento ink before colouring with my Promarkers. I cut it using a Spellbinders resplendent rectangle and backed it with the larger size rectangle cut in pink glitter. The bobbin in the bottom corner is a Memory Box die and I added some salmon coloured silk to it along with a couple of pins. I generated the sentiment on the computer, backed it with pink card and added three small pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Just Because I Can

Today I've made a card............just because I can. My eyes are open and this afternoon I don't have a problem so I've been able to finish this card which I really started on Saturday. Bad eyes stopped play so I had to give up and yesterday was a no go too.

Anyway, here it is, using one of the new images from Morgan's Etsy shop here. The digi is called Mystical Mermaid Selkie with Seal. I can hardly wait to colour the other images and make more cards but that all depends on how my eyes behave over the next few weeks. I'd had five days in a row when they were fine and I was so sure that I'd conquered the problem but then........... yesterday happened and this morning.

I used my Promarkers to colour her and then gave an overall spray of iridescent Spray and Sparkle from Crafter's Companion. I coloured directly on to the large card blank, from Joanna Sheen, with my Promarker and then sprayed that too so that it looks almost sparkly like the sea. A scrap of sandpaper became the floor with some scattered shells from Beachcomber. A small Crafty Bitz mermaid  was set on a Spellbinders die cut at the top of the card. Then I coloured some bits of raffia, it's supposed to look like seaweed but I'm not sure that that succeeded! lol The raffia is from Hobbycraft
