My Amazing Mother

Mother's Day will be here before you know it.  We are sharing some INKspiration for this very occasion over at SSI.  Nothing says I love you to a mother like a hand stamped creation.  And it doesn't have to be your mother.  Your friend, your sister, your daughter...anyone who is a mother or even a Godmother is celebrated on this day!

Here is a special card I made:

I used several stamps from the Occasions Catalog and a very pretty feminine color palette of Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Lost Lagoon with some gold accents.  I stamped some collage images from Timeless Textures to give the card some color and a vintage look.  The sentiment comes from Greatest Greetings which truly has the best greetings for the springtime.  The idea of the rose was actually inspired by a piece of jewelry I recently bought for myself.  It is a crystal enclosed in some yellow gold to look like a rose.  So that is what I did.  Here is a close up:

I cut the rose twice, once in the gold foil and then again with the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  And the I put it together like a puzzle.  The picture doesn't do it justice, it is the perfect combo of sparkle and shine.  The sequins come from the Love Blossoms Accessory kit.  Here is a peek at the inside:

I stamped some additional flowers and outlined my sentiment with some Lost Lagoon.  The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set and it heat embossed in gold.

Thanks so much for looking at my card.  Be sure to head back to SSI for other Mother's Day projects.

World's Best Mother

The Have a Cuppa Suite is the perfect collection for making a Mother's Day card.  It will be here before you know it.  And although you might think, I only have one mother, you might also have a mother-in-law, a grandmother, a friend celebrating her first Mother's Day.  You might be needing more than one card.  This stamp set is great for that!  And over at Stamp Ink Paper, the challenge is Card Maker's Choice!

Here is my card:

I love this bundle so much.  You could just get the stamp set, but the dies are adorable!  And the DSP is really the best.  I feel like if you are going to use this suite, you have to use the Tea Doilies with it.  Aside from cutting the kettle in Bermuda Bay, I also cut the spoon and steam in Basic Gray.  I added some of the stitch Bermuda Bay ribbon and a pearl to decorate the lid.  This is definitely going to be a card in my class featuring this set!  It was so easy and it so cute!  Thanks for looking.

My Amazing Mother

I have so much fun playing with the It's My Party suite over the weekend, I thought I would take some time to design a class using the Have a Cuppa Suite.  And of course I took to the internet for some additional inspiration.  As usual, the sketch over at Mojo Monday was perfect.  Check it out:

Here is my card:

I love the fun paper in the Have a Cuppa DSP stack.  It works great for the background and for the little teacups as well.  I kept this card simple letting the great patterned paper do most the work.  The yellow cup is popped up with dimensionals and has a little lemon charm on it.  I also used some of the Metallic Glitter Tape sponged in Wisteria Wonder and then layered my sentiment over it.  "My Amazing Mother" comes from the set Greatest Greetings, a wonderful set for all spring occasions!  Thanks for looking!

My Favorites from the Occasions Catalog

Hello and welcome to the January SSI Blog Hop.  Today we are each taking some time to highlight our favorite new products from the FABULOUS Occasions Catalog.  As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 2 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop -Tobe at The Craft Sea. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

And of course in true me fashion, I can't just pick one thing.  So I am going to spotlight an awesome bundle and coordinating DSP stack - the Have a Cuppa Suite.  Check it out:

So cute right?  Here are a few of my projects I made.  The first is a quick and easy notecard:

I didn't use the framelits here and only used the DSP to line the envelope.  My favorite part is the little steam heart.  I decided to stamp the cup in Smoky Slate in the inside and then stamp the sentiment over top in Bermuda Bay.

Here is another card using that big stamp:

I used my oval framelits to cut the tea cups out and made it like a place setting.  The Wisteria Wonder print DSP was perfect.  I cut out my flatware with some Basic Gray card stock.  Here is the inside:

I stamped the cup in Pool Party and the sentiment inside in Wisteria Wonder.  Then I added a little tea stain from the Timeless Textures set in Smoky Slate.

Here is a card that I CASE'd from the catalog:

I love how these cups stack up!  I started with a Melon Mambo card base and added some Wisteria Wonder then some DSP from that fabulous stack!  I cut out cups in Whisper White, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.  I wanted to add something to the later two cups, so I dug out the I Think You're Great stamp set and used those fun backgrounds to give the cups some pizzazz.  I cut the tea bag and steam heart in Basic Gray and finished it off with some Wisteria Wonder  seam binding ribbon tied to the handle.  Here is a peak at the inside:

I decided to just add a little die cut cup with a fun heart to bring the whole card together.

Here is my favorite card which came together so quickly:

I LOVE this one!  I went with a Pool Party card base and added the fun tea bag DSP.  I used some of the Crushed Curry DSP on the left layered over half of a silver foil doily.  I added the gorgeous Pool Party ribbon for some sparkle.  Then I die cut a little tea pot in Pool Party and added some scallop details in Crushed Curry and the sentiment punched out with the 1" circle punch.  And of course I had to add a tea bag and a little puff of steam.  Here is the inside of the card:

I kept this one simple and just stamped some lemon wedges in the corner.

Finally I have a cute mini card:

This is a little 3 x 3 notecard.  I sorta CASE'd a card from the catalog.  I used the Crushed Curry DSP and added some washi tape from the Cherry on Top Suite (it is Bermuda Bay).  I love all the fun framelits, for this I just cut a mug in Whisper White and added a lemon to the rim.  The sentiment comes from the You're So Sweet Sale-A-Bration set.  After I stamped a Crushed Curry heart, I added some Bermuda Bay thick twine with the handle.  I wish now I made it into a full card.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is right around the corner.  I am going to take my mother and grandmother out to a tea room later this week.  I will have to remember to take lots of pictures!  I already have cards made for them but I took some time to make another when I realized that a new stamp set I picked up recently had a perfect sentiment.  Here is the my card:

I used the Corner Garden stamp and colored it in with the retiring in colors.  I added the "best mother ever" sentiment from And Many More.  The butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits.  That are one of my favorite dies... it cuts and embossed!  Thanks so much for looking.  I hope you are ready for Mother's Day.  For more card ideas,  check out SSI.

April Blog Hop - Washi Tape

Welcome to the SSI April's Blog Hop.  We are focussing on a super awesome accessory - washi tape! Stampin' Up! has it in so many colors and patterns.  We even have a washi tape stamp set.  This accessory can be used in so many different ways.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 6 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - (Kim - Stampin' with Kim). If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

For my first project I created an 8 x 8 layout using a photo booth picture from my trip to London.  I used some washi tape to create a fun background.

For my next project I created a contemporary quick and easy Mother's Day card using the Sweet Sade washi tape.

For my final project, I used the Retro Fresh washi tape to embellish one of the mini journals.  This was super easy and a great way to add a personal touch.

Washi tape is a super fun way to add color and pattern to any project you are working on.  Stampin' Up! has so many great variations all which can be found on page 190 of the Annual Catalog.  There are also rolls of washi tape in the Project Life Accessory Packs.  Let's hop on over to see what wonderful creations Bree has to share with us!

Mother's Day Card

Today I am sharing with you a very sweet Mother's Day card I made that I will definitely be giving to my mother because the sentiment is just about perfect!  I am lucky because my mother is also my very best friend!  She is always there for me and my family and has been a tremendous role model for me.  I really hope that I have the same relationship with Jessica as my mother and I do!

The inside says, "I sure hope so!"  I bought this stamp set for this particular sentiment but the other stamps are just as cute.  I will definitely be stamping with them again soon!  Side note...to make the cute banner, use a square punch at an angle to cut a little triangle off.  Have you seen all the other Mother's Day cards over at SSI?

Happy Mother's Day

Today, after a home made breakfast from my husband and daughter, we are heading up to my in-laws for Mother's Day.  I thought I would share my creation for my mother-in-law.  I actually got help from both my husband and daughter.

And here is the card.

I hoe everyone enjoys this wonderful day with their families.  We will be spending next Saturday with my family.  I am very lucky to have such a wonderful mother who is also my very best friend.
