Phew! That was kinda hard to compile :P

As you can see guys, my downloading addiction has SPREAD not only to movies, but also to music. It all started when Izza, my blockmate, showed me her ipod and I saw that all her albums had cover art. So I got myself GimmeSomeTunes which finds album art and lyrics automatically on mac. I also saw some artists that I wanted and also begged her to USB them to me and bless her heart, she did!! :p Yeah thanks Izza! (i didn't list them down na, too many...)

And then I realized the beauty of downloading my fave singers and bands again so there, for 8 days, I was in a downloading frenzy and this was the result. Haha and my search has not finished yet! :p So guys, if ya want me to download some stuff for you, i'm your girl! :p hahaa

I forgot to share that I was the Candy Chic on the month at Sis Aisha's Beauty blog! haha. It was really flattering because I never really thought that I would be one in any site at all... lolz! haha :p Here's a pic! It's only up to January...

Ooh it's me at ze left sidebar! :P

.....meaning it's FEBRUARY NOW! CRAP!! I'm almost gonna turn a year older! OH DEAR!! This is bad.......

And brother dear finally returned after 5 months yesterday!! We celebrated by eating -- YES! MAY KATULONG NA AKO MAGUBOS NG PAGKAIN DITO! amm soo faat naaa :(( -- at SuZhuo resto (yum yum!!). My brother actually GOT THINNER and I feel so ashamed.... man... i must really lose some weight! Now the house is noisier again, and I have someone to bug again! Oh joy! But his situation... hmm.. I don't know if things will change.

But am glad he's back really. :p He also shared some stories about Portugal and some quirky anecdotes. Like how the Brit spoke in Heathrow (London) airport over the P.A. system, "...and for everyone's convenience, all unattended baggage will be DESTROYED!" Imagine saying that in a BRITISH ACCENT. Ang sabaw noh? LOLZ! PHAIL!

Here's a pic! haha evil-looking eh??

Well i kinda forgot what the other thing I was supposed to blog about... lolz! Next time na un! :p hehee

Updates when I update! :cool

Image hosted by Photobucket.com It's Time For That Season Once Again!

Sometime events in a year happened repetitiously or with a cycle such as new year and etc. But there's this really one event that I have been tuning in since grade 5 now and that's.......

THE ACADEMY AWARDS/ OSCAR AWARDS SHOW!

That little golden statue has been held for 80 times now and it will be the 81st time now this year. Since I make it a point to at least exude a vibe of "movie blogness" in my blog coz I am an avid fan of films, I try to put in reviews or movie news here in my blog. :hehe I just can't help but talk about movies...

There have been a lot of speculation about the nominees before they were announced and most of possible candidates were those nominated by the Golden Globes but.... surprise surprise, favorites were NOT chose. Here are the complete list of nominees from theMovieBlog (my oldest favorite movie blog site but not my fave blog critic). my comments are in // (nahawa na sobra sa Computer, lolz!)

Best Picture

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” // Okay, I wasn't expecting this, not this MUCH!

“Frost/Nixon” // haven't watched yet so.... can't really say anything

“Milk” // DYING TO SEE THIS!

“The Reader” // They say it isn't as good, 68% lang sa Rottentomatoes

“Slumdog Millionaire” // OMG YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WIN! Those who haven't watched this are MISSING LOTS!

/** Some are quite furious why Dark Knight and The Wrestler weren't nominated. I loved the Dark Knight, I really do but it wasn't enough to save itself from a few bad acting and URGH plot holes. There was really something missing in there FOR ME. I did wish that Christopher Nolan was nominated for Best Director, but TDK earned nominations in the right places (the Academy still credits it!) But I was surprised that The Wrestler wasn't nominated. It was a REALLY beautiful film!

Wall*e.... why weren't you nominated?? Urgh!! But how the heck did "Waltz with Bashir" (a foreign animated movie) get into the Best Foreign film category while Wall*e DOES NOT? And Persepolis only won Best Animated Film last 2000 something. Sighs...

Phew!! That was long! Argh, I haven't updated my tumblr for 3 days now, so i'm delayed by 3 days on project 365! Hehe and my blockmate also borrowed the camera for uploading reasons for our documentation of our Exposure Trip so... hopefully I'll post A LOT of things on Monday.

School's really sucky yesterday. I officially WANT MATH TO LOVE ME ( i don't care if I'm going to sound like some crazy girl in an unrequited love, BUT I HAVE TO!) and am going to study WITH FORCE on computer. And midterms are on Tuesday. BOTH MIDTERMS on the SAME DAY. Isn't life great?

NOT.

Well I have this thing to look forward to this summer vacation...

//repost from Tumblr

In case you can't read the blurry pic... it's.... the ITINERARY FOR THE SHANGHAI TRIP!  think this Shanghai trip that will be
sponsored by my uncle (well ung airfare and it helps my parents a lot!)
will push through! He already made an itinerary haha. I really can't wait because I haven't been on a plane for 2 years and it's just so exciting! It'll be my 2nd time to go China and this time, to a real city. Last time I went was to Fu Jian (our province) and it's really provincial there.  His family moved to Shanghai after being transferred sa company
niya to a higher position. Dati nasa Denmark siya hehe and sayang di
nakavisit doon. But it’s OK! Shanghai is good!

I’m going with my other uncle’s family! Mum and dad can’t come coz
of the dogs and business. (haha parang pasingit lang ako oh, - Pls have
Tiff tag along nalang. lolz!)

So i gotta go Study guys. Hell Months are here to stay! :((

Olllaaa my friends! Again, I have been MIA the past couple of weeks due to SCHOOL STRESS, STRESS and MORE STRESS! hehe  If you guys visited my tumblr, I have a pic there of my planner which was instantly filled the minute I got back to school. Practices, projects, trainings and paperworks have now become my flesh and blood. Going online and chatting with you guys is just one of the perks. Now I have to finish my FINAL draft on my English research paper and I hope to God that it's OK! hehe. :p

Anyway I was in the mood to blog. I mean I've been meaning to blog coz I found these AMAZING innovations on the internet. Who says that the youth and society are getting dumber? NO EFFING WAY! If people could mass produce mini-shelter homes or a bag-chargers, then the world would be a better place. Look at these fantastic creations

The Uber Shelter
"Dismantled, the Über Shelter looks like a large gray gurney. But this
compact pile of aluminum unfolds into a two-story home, complete with
lights, stove, porch and a small refrigerator. Rafael Smith, a senior
in the industrial design program at Purdue University, designed the Über Shelter for his undergraduate thesis project.

On a vacation in Manila the summer before he began the project, he was
shocked by the crushing living conditions of those in poverty; when he
got home, he began researching the architecture of shelters around the
world. With no previous knowledge of refugee camps, he sought the
advice of doctors, policy makers aid workers and a Sudanese refugee he
met online."

Soo Cool! It's just sad that it was inspired by Manila in a bad way... well it's now good because it could hopefully solve a few of our problems (and he might send a few free ones too! hehe).

SOLAR BAG
"Joe Hynek may be the only student at Iowa State University
who carries a handbag for “scientific purposes.” On cloudless days, he
wanders his neighborhood to test whether the purse, which is plated in
thin solar panels and contains a lightweight battery, is absorbing
energy from the sun. After three hours of direct exposure, the purse
generates enough electricity to charge an iPod, camera or cellphone.
(The bag will also charge — more slowly — if placed next to a window.)
Mr. Hynek is currently working on the final touch: a small display
screen that will indicate when the purse is best angled for absorbing
the day’s light."

I'd love to have a bag like this! Man, you could charge anything now and it'd save you LOADS on electric bills! hehe just wish they'd improve sa design pa. :p hehe

ELEPHANT STUFF

"Lily Chong and Matt Kalish, both 21-year-old juniors majoring in
industrial design, thought about interactive toys for the assignment,
perhaps two tigers whose eyes would light up when a child touched the
paws together. Then one day the class was critiquing student projects,
and someone dismissed an idea as “That’s so gay.” As students debated
whether the phrase was offensive, the professor stepped in to steer the
class back on topic. But some students left the class feeling awkward.
You couldn’t just ignore the issue or bury hurt feelings.

Ms.
Chong and Mr. Kalish started thinking about elephants instead of
tigers. Rather than being the figurative thing unsaid, maybe an actual
elephant in the room could help people talk about difficult subjects.
They came up with the idea of stuffed elephants that would communicate
via wireless chips buried inside their soft centers. If one person in a
room squeezes an elephant for three seconds, all the other elephant
eyes light up. “It lets everyone know there’s an issue, we have to talk
about it,” Ms. Chong says. The person raising the concern remains
anonymous. "

It'd be a cool  giveaway and a neat tool for learning in my opinion. Plus it looks SUPER CUTE!! goodness! hehee

I've also expressed here in my blog my admiration of a few people, namely Robert Downey Jr., Johnny Depp, Bill Gates and especially STEVE JOBS (co-founder of Apple AND Pixar!!-- my future job place! well i like to think so anyway). My lappy and panda-touch wouldn't be here right now if it weren't for him. Microsoft would just be boring if they didn't have any competition at all. Jobs brough something to the game! I just read an article on the latest TIME magazine concerning the possibility of Jobs' retirement (GASP!) due to his health problems (hormonal imbalance thing, he had pancreatic cancer then, grabe... hope he's OK..). Now we've seen Gates' step down from his mighty position and Microsoft is still on the roll. But what IF Steve Jobs leaves Apple? MacWorld survived the experience without Job's notable Keynote address which was instead precided by Phil Schiller, a candidate for the next CEO if ever Job's retires. He did a decent but without the "presence" of Jobs. Jobs was an innovator and everyone simply have to lend their ears to this Houdini who has LOADS of things to say.

I do hope he gets well soon.. I mean Apple still has a lot of potential! Now that it has covered mobile phones, they might probably go into printer/scanner/whatever things. He'd probably create a new line of something spectacular... so hopefully the imagination of Apple doesn't die out yet... PLS!!!

Sorry for the passinate rant. I'd love to work for Apple/Pixar but with Steve Jobs still sa head! hehe.

I've actually have a lot more things to say. Like the time....

.........I ERASED THE TRASH BIN WITH MY 37.9GB WORTH OF DISNEY/PIXAR MOVIES!! (55 movies in all!!) So yeah, I had to download them again. 5.11gb down. 32 more to go!!
.........I GOT OUR CUTE PERSIAN KITTY NAMED KATY/KATIE/KITTEY
.........I watched the OPENING specials of AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 8!! (i still don't see THE ONE. But Michael Castro - Jason Castro's younger bro - is CUTE! haha :P)
.........our Ateneo INTACT Exposure trip with street kids!!
.........NINTENDO DS is ALIVE once more!!

More happenings from me in tumblr! Pls do goo viisit! hehe :p Follow me there and I'll follow you too! :P hehe

Well have to go now! EEP! ALMOST 7PM! haha must do research paper!

Got a myyearbook thing too... hehe Add me!

Yey! I got a New Year present from Ate Yesha!! Aww ang cute niya talaga sis!! hehe Thanks ah!! *hugz*

http://i42.tinypic.com/2nbfrqs.jpg

Hey guys! EEPZ!! Sorry I had no chance to do a video blog! urgh, so sorry! I was capturing some videos on the eve of December 31st but sadly... I thought they didn't seem too nice.. lolz! haha Coz there were the booms and screams of fireworks and all that commotion, but let's see. I'll maybe upload it :p haha!

But I did get to do a Tumblr account!! I find the word tumblr to be unique and different even though the familiar tumbler would just mean... a container of some sorts. Who cares? It's such a weird word. Haha! Anyway I've converted this into a photoblog and I've joined the Project 365 c/o Ate Gel and I will post a pic EVERY DAY. That's the challenge right there! So guys if you want to see some action every day, Go follow/visit me there!

But wait... I have no cam.... BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ... haha Fortunately MOM AND DAD GOT ME ONE!! Whoot! OMG, grabe the first things that came true are the ones I thought most impossible to get.... Geeshh.. maybe I should put everything on my wish list as impossible....like the IRONMAN DVD WITH SPECIAL FEATURES.... haha :p

Canon's IXUS 870.
Canox IXUS 870 IS (we got the gold one! coz...la lang)

Anyway it's a CANON IXUS 870IS!! hehe We got it for a bargain (imagine, nacut-off ung price for 9000php!!) at Quiapo at Henry's Camera (advertise advertise!). Dad decided to buy a camera when he saw our neighbors HOLDING A SLR CAMERA AND BIG-ASS LENSES! So you know, male pride kicked in and he said that we should have one too. But we're not professionals yet so there, we just got this and I DON'T REGRET it! hehe The images are amazingly clear and the video too! Love love it!! hehe. I'm gonna name it Camm-y just because... I'm a bad namer :( Or goldy...

Wow, this new year had been really different for me for these reasons:

1. Big Bro wasn't here. He was off partying in Portugal... LUCKY GUY! bwahhaa but he didn't have that much to eat as I did! bwahaha!!

2. I ATE NONSTOP FOR MORE THAN A WEEK! It started on Christmas Day and it didn't stop until Jan 1. AND NOW I'M A BIG FAT ARSE... *cries and laments*

3. We hopped to relatives' place more than usual. First it was at my mom's side. And I got to bond more with my cousins there. haha! Pls check out my multiply album for rare family pics! haha :p And then we went to dad's side amidst problems with grandpa... uh.. those are more personal things. And I got to bond more with my cousins too! :p hehe.

4. We had no fireworks. As in NADA, not even lusis, the magic wand sparkling things but I was still happy. Our neighbors never cease to amaze me with their fireworks especially those at both ends of the street. grabe! You thought that they were holding a contest or something. Haha and our next door neighbor had around 5 Sintoron ni Hudas (Judas belt, you know the really LOUD ONES). Almost became deaf again that night. Too bad I was the only one excited. Mum and Dad just wanted to stay inside. I braved the smoke and noise alone.. :((

5. We went to A LOT OF PLACES ON JAN 1~! hehe Far places pa. First we visited our soon-to-be pet parrot named Gray (coz again we have nothing better to name it...)

And then off to Cainta, Rizal to check on Queenie's bros and sis

Then to Tagaytay-Batangas to EAT OUT. Grabe si mum! hehe we almost got lost noh coz the place was SUPER SECLUDED as in it was at the dead end... lolz! haha YUMMY food though! :P

No exact pic :P hehe Kaya puro Carp nalang!

Hehe well that's it. I'll be posting again soon coz... BACK TO SCHOOL ON JAN 5 and frankly, I'm REALLY NOT READY! Really... hehe :p

Oh here's something to be amazed at...HOPE HE JOINS AI! And speaking of AI... American Idol month na nga pala!! OMG!!!

Updates when I update! :cool

Image hosted by Photobucket.com First ever Christmas Wish List

Hi guys! hehe just to clarify, the last post was a paid-to-blog post but I really do mean every word there, I would love to have a Rockband set and the Patapon game on PSP! (but i don't have a PSP...) wahhz!

And here's more downloading news! Here are the latest additions to my movie downloads:
52. A Scanner Darkly
53. Happy-Go-Lucky
54. Let the Right One In
55. Tinkerbell
56. Memory Keeper's Daughter
57. The House Bunny
58. Shrek the Halls (short film)
59. Shawshank Redemption
60. Little Children
61. Death at a Funeral

I've been blogging for a long time now and I've never done a wish list. Maybe it's because I know people wouldn't be able to get me the things I want (uh, i was a kid who had unreasonable wishes, lolz! well i still have them! hehe) or it was too much of a hassle. But I realize on the day we were drawing lots for the block exchange gift giving that it was sometimes necessary because people needed guidance too on gift giving so they wouldn't waste money. I already have a gift for that special blockmate (yeah! it's gonna be soo cool! hehe :cool) but i didn't concentrate on my wish list on my ballot. I was in too much of a hurry since I was the head fascilitator of the group during that meeting. But here's a list, maybe still a bit unreasonable, but I hope they would come true. This list serves as something that I really desire or want this year.

 http://www.spideyreloaded.com/ironman_711.jpg
1. Ironman Original DVD (kahit not exact casing)

Okay, today's the day when I proclaim my fandom for.......IRONMAN! Okay, not the comics, not even the plot or story (well except I really like the character of Tony Stark! Brains, Charisma, a good heart, looks!!) but I've become a superfan of ROBERT DOWNEY JR.
http://jaded4good.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/robert-downey-jr-1207-lg1.jpg

Grabe ang galing niya sa movie! He was the main reason why I enjoyed Ironman so much~! And I just realized what an incredible actor he is! If you've seen Chaplin, Zodiac, even Tropic Thunder, you can't just ignore his CHARISMA and GREATNESS! gosh, i thought i wouldn't like him in Tropic Thunder honestly but he pulled it off! My gosh. So yeah, now I'm a super fan. I will watch all his movies from now on (next on list is A Scanner Darkly) and of course, his next movies, The Soloist and Sherlock Holmes! hehe.

Oops this has become sort of a fan rant, lolz! well I would love the DVD because of the SPECIAL FEATURES! You might wonder why a pirate-er like me would like to buy original dvds when i can just rip it off or go to our suki sa Divisoria and buy a dvd there, but THEY wouldn't have the bonus features which includes DELETED and ADDITIONAL SCENES, Commentaries, Behind the scenes and of course, RDJ'S AUDITION VIDEO! haha. so please, if you really want to make me happy this Christmas, grab the Ironman dvd! haha. There are a lot of versions but as long as they have all the special features, i'm happy with it! Kahit walang case, ung CDs lang! haha :P

2. Cornyness earrings

My friend Danwei makes these uber cute clay earrings!! I have already bought from her way back around 2 years ago and the earrings are just beauties! She just added a new collection and I've got my eye on the Momo earrings (my Momo earrings are lost! wahhzz), or Bear-head earrings, or Toasty earrings or Chocolate Cookie earrings! aww they're soo scrumptious!

Image of Sweet PandaImage of Pink Bunny Scarf Hat
I've always wanted these since I stepped into the blogosphere. I stumbled this on Danwei's shopping guides i think and I fell in love with the adorable fleece hats!! Call it impractical, useless or whatever, I still want it because of the cuteness!! *dies* I don't even mind the design, it can be anything coz they're all just screaming CUTE!!

4. A Yellow Bag (No picture)

I'm a bag-a-holic. If you've read one of my old posts, i've passionately already discussed my love for bags. I've already collected various hues of bags: red, purple, striped green, navy blue, white, tan, gray. Yellow has been a color I've been contemplating on getting but.. I just can't seem to find 'the' bag. Every single yellow bag was small... and I needed a BIG BAG for school since I'm the bag lady, for some reason I just need to put lots of stuffs in my bags so each bag tend to way a few kilos. Urgh. So there. I'm wishing for a yellow bag this Christmas :P hehee

5. Mini vacuum cleaner (No picture)

I was with mum at Debenhams one time and they had these super cool (and EXPENSIVE!! it's europe's dept store rin eh) toys esepcially this ducky stuff toy which you can strangle and it produces quacking noises of plea. And if you press its hand, the little ducky would walk and dance around! Ah, children's toys nowadays are really something noh? hehe. But i didn't want that ducky, what caught my eye was this MINI (as in literally mini) vacuum cleaner! It looked like a vacuum cleaner shrinked to the size of a 7 inch toy. It was perfect for a desktop cleaner and KEYBOARD CLEANER! Or a cleaner that can catch the dust in little small spaces and the cool thing is that it's USB-powered so no batteries needed! I can't find a picture online though... A mini vacuum cleaner would be nice...

6. Geek Shirt

These shirts would definitely make you want to BE a GEEK! haha. I super love the CompSat's Geek shirts but unfortunately... i still don't have one... sighs..

http://megcellent.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/mrsfields.jpg

Image hosted by Photobucket.com COLD and YEAH

Haha hello again guys! Wow my first every written post in weeks! I figured that if I were going to do another vlog, it would take another 2 weeks because of the hassle, secrecy from parents and um... oh yeah HECTIC SCHED in school! So here's a written post! weee! :yay

So much has happened as usual after not being able to post so long. I've been active as usual on plurk though, so go browse through my timeline and check out the crazy things I've done. goo here and PLURK PLURK and multiply!! haha lolz :p

Thanks guys for still visiting me!

The Twilight Zone Movie
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Princess Bride
Marie Antoinette

Over 51 titles!! (not counting the individual Saw series and Anne of green Gables) And of course I plan to add more there! I'm really trying to build up a library of movies since... i'm not rich...and I can't buy DVDs like my uncle (I swear, HE HAS TONS OF DVDS, all original!! and he doesn't like to let us borrow... as in SHELVES AND SHELVES of DVDs!!) If you guys want me to burn you a CD of a movie, or if you want me to download a movie for you, I'd gladly do it! I'm also selling some DVDs here (pIrAtEd BUT DVD quality since I want the best, even if it comes cheap. Ang demanding ko noh?? lolz!) 35 a piece, or 3 for 100 :p

I'm currently downloading 5 more movies! wee, I've got a list here of movies to watch! I'm targeting but classic movies, the type that never grows old. I know that they're so hard to look for in dvds, even in pirated form. So there... I hope to get more movies! I'm also currently downloading 50 Disney movies at once, so about 37.5GB, and i've downloaded 25% of it. lOLZ! A few more months to go!! :P

Twilight! lolz I watched it 2x already but I refuse to blog about because... a lot of people already did. I'll just say that I enjoyed the movie, I love Jasper and Carlisle (uh Rob Pattinson isn't my type of Edward... sorry fangirls!!) and Alice (she was so cute right?? haha spunky!) and that Bella in the movie was BETTER! Urgh I hated Bella in the books. Sorry...

Bah, I still blogged about it. It could have been better though... the acting and all. They shouldn't be THAT low-budgeted in the next movie right? What I enjoyed in the movie were the reactions of the audience. Grabe, i laughed more at all that squealing. tsk tsk. LOLZ!! :haha

The past weeks have been hectic, really. English research paper has been constantly on my mind and there's still the Filipino one too. sighs.. hope all goes well.

My friend invited me to join her in her business venture in one of Ateneo's oganizations, AMA (Ateneo Management Association), since it was open for all (i'm not on a management course you see). I decided to give it a go since I love selling. I love to have a business (oh dear, am i on the right course? lolz!!) so i guess this would be an experience and that IT WAS! I was at tiendesitas from Friday night to Saturday (8am - 7:30pm) trying to sell and attract customers (thus I have no more voice lolz! another reason why no vlog) and we did pretty good!! Except for the christmas treest packaged chocoballs. In case anyone wants a good gift idea, pls comment and I'll contact you immediately! I'll show you all the pictures and everything :hehe . Overall it was a REWARDING experience. I've seen happy customers, grouchy passersby, uh.. lazy stall keepers (there was this stall that didn't even to look for customers. weird) and all. It was quite embarassing coz our stall seemed to be the NOISIEST of the lot since I guess we're one of the few freshmen there but who cares? We kinda sold a lot more! haha :P

Well thanks to those who went to Tiendesitas! I know I've been a bugger on plurk coz I kept on plurking that. hehe.

Well tc now guys! Next time I'll be posting my CHRISTMAS WISH LIST! I never made one before but... I think I will now. :p tc!!

Updates when I update!:cool

P.S. Notice the cold breeze that we sometimes experience now?? LOOVEE IT!! Sana pls wag uminit... wahhhzz :wah

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Xin de yue ding

新的約定。。。

還沒看到你。。。。只會想念你。。。

Haha disregard second line! To those who can read Chinese... SSSssshhh nalang! lolz. Well basically my subject is how you read the first line "xin de yue ding". It literally means New Agreement or as I'd prefer to call it, New Promise. It's a promise to myself sort of. To start a change. Throw away the old conventions (okaaay.. maybe not exactly throwing away! haha :hehe) and welcome new friends (hi new linkies! :yay). As you can see I've done the first one by making my FIRST ever video blog/vlog! Scroll down to watch my *belated* Halloween message if ya haven't watched yet. Or of course, if ya just want to see me make a fool out of myself, you're welcome to! hehe. Thanks sobra sa positive feedback lolz even though I still think I talk like a child/boy. I never did like my voice... haha i'll probably do another one soon! =) But have to be discreet... I don't want my mum and dad to know I'm doing these... lolz!!

And about something new... I'm absolutely DYING to change my layout because Panda has long been gone on a vacation! I must revamp this site coz... it's already a mess if you can see. lolz! I already have something in mind and I need the artist's permission to use his characters (ano kaya un?? haha suspense!! lolz) so I'm not sure when it will be done but IT WILL BE DONE this year! That's A FACT! hehe.

I need help though, would you guys rather see a site mostly composed of NEON or PASTEL colors? Tag me or comment and I'll gladly do it! I'm having trouble choosing you see... hehe thanks! =)

And I want to start anew in college again. I don't know. I'm just determined more to make it better. To become better at my academic performance (DEAN'S LIST! I WON'T LET YOU GO AWAY!!), to increase school spirit (maybe it's time I get a school shirt.. I don't even have a PE shirt yet...), to mingle more with orgs and blockmates (asides from card playing! i wanna bond! lolz) and to... do something i don't know yet. lolz! :haha. I'm weird like that..

Me, Chair, Chu, Joan

I had such a blast last Halloween night coz it was also my friend Jasmine's debut!! She really had an original idea (well for me anyway coz I haven't seen one like it) for her theme and i loved seeing everyone in hats! Haha I love my mom too coz she found the ridiculously pinkish-floral-with-dead-bird-on-top hat!! haha I won a PHILLIPS DVD PLAYER! lolz. Fun fun fun! =) Glad to see my barkada (Danelle isn't there though!! wahh) and my high school third year family!! They're simply the best for me.... sighs... how did ya spend your halloween night? Or All Saint's Day? hehe.

Oh here's another new thing I wanna try... COSPLAY!! SShhhh again... I know I haven't watched anime for a long time but I've watched a good deal and still be able to call myself an anime fan. Just that.. after the party last Oct 31, it was just fun to dress up! lolz. Problem with cosplay is the costumes and actually becoming the anime character you portrayed! Here's a cosplay blog in case you don't know what cosplay is. I'm just a bit disturbed when girls portray guys... I'm sorry...but I really do find it weird! Pics gotten from here!!

Lineage II Dark Elf
Amazing dedication! Is that really WHOLE BODY PAINT?

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi - Suzumiya Haruhi
She looks... so much like the character!! I love it!

Naruto - Uchiha Sasuke
Fierce!! But as I have said... girl portraying guys... but anyways I like it!

One thing that will never change in my blog is movie news. SWEAR. You'll read about movies, watch about movies and talk about movies here!! lolz. I'm such a movie geek that I hope to work in film someday! (Taking Computer Science as a course is my first step!)

Here's a trailer of Slumdog Millionaire, one of my most awaited films this year! I first heard about this in one of my favorite movie blogs that it was showing in the famous Toronto Film Festival and it WON people's choice award! Cinematical who did a super review gives a good summary,

Fans of director Danny Boyle's work will find much to appreciate in his latest film, Slumdog Millionaire, a sweeping, hopeful story about a boy in the slums of India who becomes an instant celebrity after he wins millions on India's version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?. Adapted by Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day) off the novel Q &A by Vikas Swarup, the tale is framed within an interesting narrative structure that revolves around the young man, Jamal, being interrogated for fraud by the police, who cannot believe that a "slumdog" orphan could possibly have known the answers to the questions on the show.

Another Indian film on my watch list! So far, I am enjoying IMMENSELY Indian films as I have told ya about The Namesake and I have also downloaded Bride and Prejudice (Indian take on Pride and Prejudice) which was pretty OK. Some stars in The Namesake would appear on Slumdog and I can't wait to watch them! yey!!

Here's the trailer! =) :hehe

Now I'm so sorry for another long post! Urgh... Just have so much to say.. Maybe I'd vlog it next time! :hehe =)

Updates when I update! :cool

***EDIT!!
Ate Yesha gave me a Halloween message! Aww ang cute! =) Thanks ate ah!! *hugz* I've also joined some contests *points to sidebar* haha! Wish me luck! :P =)

yeshahall

I've also joined this special contest on winning Moleskin's notebooks! They have gorgeous paper such as this pic

moleskinentry

Well ya have to write a short story using only one sentence and here's my entry.

One midsummer night's eve, the remnants of a snow flake inconceivably spilled its teardrops on a little girl's notebook of sorrows: life, death, and memory.

Hope that's okay!! hehe =)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Boo Yeah Month!

Before anything else, I'd like to thank all my new link exchanges for... agreeing to link exchange with me!! hahaa!! :yay Nice meeting ya all and hopefully we'll keep this strong!! Special mention to Aisha, Beena, Beng, Chiui, Evan, Gelly, Jha, Jhoice, Jeru, Karen Ken, and Sha!Thanks also guys for supporting me sa last post! I know it was loong... so sorry for my new readers. I love long posts for some reason.. Or maybe it's because I'm really loquacious. Haha!

I'm open to link exchanges guys!! =) :hehe

To all those who haven't heard... this is the new trailer for High school musical 3!!!

Okayz.... I was kidding. hahaa! :haha This is just a spoof, fan-made video courtesy of Slashfilm who thought that it was brilliant to mix the Saw and High School Musical franchise together. Lolz! Now I don't think it would be a box office smash hit but lolz~ I liked the way they mixed the scenes and when Troy Bolton/Zac Efron suddenly held a pair of knives! Lolz!! Hahhaa. It's October, bee happy for the Halloween season.

and i just watched HSM3!! THE REAL ONE!! It was a blast! If you're a senior now in high school, I'm sure that all of you can relate with it. Even I a recent graduate, is already reminiscing the days... the plays... the fights.... the WINS!! My gosh... I super miss high school! It's not an Oscar-worthy show, but it's all about fun, friends and high school! It's definitely BETTER than the SECOND!! I can't say that it's as good as the first though coz... none of the songs are catchy enough to get stuck in your head unlike Breaking Free. Lolz!! Haha but nevertheless... the songs and DANCE MOVES ARE GREAT!! as in!!!! Watch it guys!! =) :hehe

Speaking of Halloween season, what guys are you planning to do on Halloween? Are you going trick or treating? I wish I did, it's been 7 years since my first and last trick or treat. I'm gonna spend it the old school way and have a horror movie marathon! Yey!! I love horror movies sans/EXCEPT for the torture gore ones like Saw. Urgh, i detest senseless movies about blood and gore and cutting off one's limbs. I'd rather be spooked out or crepped out rather than grossed out in a very bad bad sense. Zombie movies are okay, just not Hostel or Saw. Go suggest peepz!!

And I'd suggest one of my own finds from Slashfilm again. Trick 'r Treat. Hehe it's a new premise and it's kinda creepy that they use kids to spook grownups out. There is just something VERY CREEPY about children who are gonna attack ya. Brrr!!! Here's the trailer and I think it's AWESOME!!

I'm keeping this short coz it's brown-out here (THE THIRD FOURTH TIME THIS MONTH!! WHAT THE HELL??) and the battery's gonna be dead in a few minutes. URGHHH!! :grr Wish my family luck and pray for us guys.... Our lot has been sold and hopefully at a right price and if the other lot gets sold again... we're finally getting our own house... our OWN house!! We're just renting out this recidence see, and I can't wait to leave the place. I know I'm going to miss this so much since I've stayed here for 10 years already but.... there are more perks in moving!! whoot! lolz. :hehe

Well gtg now!!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Freedom...freedom!! *sings*

I am so sorry for not blogging earlier guys. :wah I still feel uncomfortable with this tooth predicament and I am now feeling this weird twitches. There was even once when I felt this TICKLISH feeling and of course the itchy feeling of the lower teeth area. I hope that this would be gone by TOMORROW because I'm going to visit my high school tomorrow! I super can't wait!!! hehee :hehe

Sighs.. I'm tired of bread... that's all I've been eating since Thursday. Hopefully I lost some pounds already..:hehe

My mom just told me a piece of good news yesterday! There's a possibility that we might go to Dubai and stay over at my mom's friend's house! Whoot!! I've been wanting to SEE *take note, see, i can't afford to spend a night in these hotels!* the uber mega famous hotels of Dubai like the Burj-Al-Arab hotel! :yay

"Designed to resemble a billowing sail, the hotel soars to a height of 321 metres, dominating the Dubai coastline. At night, it offers an unforgettable sight, surrounded by choreographed colour sculptures of water and fire.

This all-suite hotel reflects the finest that the world has to offer. With your chauffeur driven Rolls Royce, discreet in-suite check in, private reception desk on every floor and a brigade of highly trained butlers who provide around-the-clock attention, you can be assured of a highly personalised service throughout your stay."

from the site

@_@ butlers?? haha! And despite being a small country, Dubai is very technological advanced so being a gadget freak, I won't be able to help but drool all over the place! This dream has yet to become a reality this December. I HOPE that it will be a reality *prays*

To all my American friends out there, i know that the presidential election is near and all of you have problem either Obama or McCain in mind (personally, I think Obama would win!!) but here's just something to tickle your funny bone. I was browsing over Cinematical's posts and found an array of obama-mccain "movie posters"! Super laughtrip lang!! I have nothing against the candidates but it sure is a fun parody :p. Especially Step Brothers, Dumb and Dumber, etc! :haha

Onto a more serious note, this presidential election, or ANY for that matter, is a life-changing event. That is why it is so IMPORTANT to ponder over the abilities of the candidates and VOTE for your country's leader. It's just saddening to think that some people actually throw away their FREEDOM to vote. I mean people, you have a democratic country which PEOPLE have fought for the PEOPLE's good welfare and you're just throwing away centuries' sacrifices? As a citizen, one must take it a duty to take care of their homeland, their country. I don't know... I'm just saying that people should think it over carefully and not shotgun their votes. May the Lord help us.

If you haven't read my previous post *the one right before this* and watched the trailer for Persepolis, PLEASE DO! I'm encouraging you all to watch this little animation especially in times like this to further understand the freedom that we have.

I've been meaning to write about the situation with my brother but I think I'll save it for another day. It'll be another long post and i don't want to be dragging anymore. Well tc now!! :hehe

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Foreign Nut

Foreign nut (n.) - 1. A person who's a fanatic or who's starting to become a fanatic of other cultures. Absorbs them bit by bit or nut by nut 2. Other meaning is simply a nut you've never heard of 3. A crazy foreigner :bleh

I'm starting to like inventing words. Or at least give meaning to some. Now I've become a foreign nut. While running on the treadmill last Monday, I was watching a documentary featuring South Korean films and their directors and all I can say is... they're all mind-blowing! I'm not talking about romantic comedies we're all used to because of telenovelas but there are actually good and maybe even oscar-worthy about these films. Some even encompass the usual North American films and some are like it (Matrix! there's like this Matrix korean film thingy) but what makes these films look more interesting is because of their particular culture. You can see their traditions and their views about life. And how they're being broken.

The magnitude of how America has influenced the world is so great. Now after watching The Namesake and Persepolis, both foreign films, I saw that it's not only the Philippines that has been into this "American thing". Even Indians or French Iranians (watch Persepolis! One of my favorite animation films now!) are influenced into listening this punk rock thing, eating Burgers, partying and all American. I thought that only Filipinos are the uber crazy about Americans but now I now am wrong. There are also as many Filipinos as there are Indians (well i think) in America and they too are suffering the same fate. Should they still follow arranged marriages? Should they only marry their same kind? How about Iranians? They have it worse because of the super strict government they have and the recent wars they're experiencing, it's hard to express their freedom now. Teens are actually being forced by families to leave Iran for their sake and future. But the thing is.. I think Filipinos are still more Americanized. lolz. Just watch these films and you be the judge.

The NameSake features the struggle of one Indian family has to go through living in America. These struggle focuses on finding their own identity especially the children's (Kal Penn and the girl). Despite this being a boring premise, the film actually tugs your heartstrings because you really feel the emotions of each of the member of the family as they take you through the times of the parents up to their children's. And there are lots of humorous scenes too especially watching this Indian tradition of ladies flicking their tongues and saying "Whoo whoo!" during a marriage ceremony. I know it's supposed to be serious but I can't help but laugh! Watch it guys! Torrent it. Rent it or something.

Now Persepolis, go buy it!! (or torrent it like me) This is how much I recommend this littel animation feature! Running only at 1 hr and 30 minutes, this film is packed with insanely fun humor and a LOT of political views especially in the first few minutes of the film. It is needed because of the reality of Iran. They can't help but be political. I was a bit apprehensive about this film though. Sure it's got an Oscar nod for best foreign (wait, was it foreign film???) but come on, 99% of the time, the film is in black and white! The drawing's plain, nothing exactly significant in that department but the story is the focus here. Not the drawing but the story. And a little peculiar quirk about this film is that the dialogue is in French but it's talking about Iran. Now I don't know how to categorize it. Maybe it's still a french film. This story is about the tale of an Iranian girl and we see her go through life in Iran as she progresses to become the Iranian woman. I swear, I explain the film so badly but this film is a gem! It cracked me up loads of times and the story is.. so... true. It's so true that it's funny already. GO WATCH! :yay

In other news... THERE IS ACTUALLY A BRAND NEW LINE OF MACBOOKS AND MACBOOK PROS! I can't believe the shock I got when Apple e-mailed me that there is already a new line! And to think I just recently got a Macbook Pro :wat @_@. :dead but I am so thankful that Apple only focused on the aesthetics and not the functionality in their improvements. They changed the design, added a few more graphic cards or something to enhance the graphics and voila! That's it. Well that's what I think anyway. Head over to Apple for more details. Sighs... technology these days.. you never know how to keep up. Please don't be like fashion! :wah

I've finally posted more pics at Multiply! I forgot to blog about St. Francis of Assisi's feast day/National Pet Day! There was this pet blessing held in Eastwood City and my mum decided to go!! Haha it was fun seeing the pets and also their pet owners. There are actually a lot of owners who SPOIL their doggies. *they put them in strollers! like kids!* We brought Pawpi, Toto, Rocky and Coco! hehe.

I just had my SECOND molar extraction and I can tell ya that IT HURTS MORE than the first one here in this entry. URGH! More icepacks please! And what's worse is it's hard to swallow now and I'm getting coughs. sighs.. I just hope that the pain will end tomorrow. PLEASE! Now I look like some tomato coz of this blown up face of mine. Sighs... it looks like I've got the mumps. :wah

Well gtg now!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Videos Galore!

My kabarkada (best friend, groupie, homie) Joan just bombarded me with such cute and sad little short(redundant much? haha!) films that I couldn't NOT share them! hehe.

The first couple of shorts were nominated in the Oscars last year and both are French. The first one features a husband impatiently stuck in traffic and decides to pass time by calling up home with his "new" (i think?) phone. Watch and see the twist in the end.

The second one features a very very sad woman who aboards the train. Sounds like a very boring premise noh? I assure you, this one's a really sad sad film.

The last one is a short animated film about.... CHUBCHUBS!! And what are chubchubs? Lolz. I loved this!!

Oh and I'd like to promote a film deemed Oscar-worthy next year by Sean Penn. It's MILK. I loved this little trailer. It's one of those trailers where special effects isn't the reason why you want to watch it.

A little info on Milk
"Academy Award nominee Gus Van Sant directs Academy Award winner Sean Penn as gay-rights icon Harvey Milk. Mr. Milk (1930-1978) was an activist and politician, and the first openly gay man to be elected to public office in America; in 1977, he was voted to the city supervisors' board of San Francisco. The following year, both he and the city's mayor George Moscone were shot to death by another city supervisor, Dan White. Mr. Milk was previously the subject of the Academy Award-winning documentary feature "The Times of Harvey Milk," but "Milk" is the first non-documentary feature to explore the man's life and career. " -Youtube description

My brother's officially leaving in 5 hours. Oops my bad everyone. He was going to leave today and not yesterday as I have earlier said. Sighs.. i can't imagine 5 months without anybody to banter with or to shout at. Home will be so quiet. It's really sad. I do hope he does well in Portugal and not waste 5 months of his life. It'll be hard to communicate though coz the time difference is a lot. 8 hours. urgh. Anyway, he has to take a lot of pics or else I'll bash him! hehe joking =)

I'm supposed to be writing now but I still don't have the zest. Urgh... why oh why has this been happening lately? I just wish I could sail off on a boat and venture off somewhere. My mom got me a credit card (cool!! yey! Color black pa siya, it looks really important) but sad thing is I'm probably never gonna use it this year. My bro and I share the same account and he's probably gonna take the bigger share since he's off in Europe and he has to buy a lot of stuff since he could only bring 20 kilos over there. Oh well.. hehe

Oh, and I got my dream grade, B IN MATH LONG TEST AGAIN! yes!! Sorry guys if my standards have fallen but I really have to face reality and accept the fact that I cannot A this subject anymore and my hopes are in the hands of Bs. If I still want to get on the dean's list, I really have to B this subject. I have to. It's a 6-unit subject. I was just so dumb that I C-ed my midterms. So dumb so dumb. Sighs..

Well I'll post again hopefully soon! TC!!

Updates when I update! :cool

My brother's going away this Saturday. Away = away for 6 months in Lisbon, Portugal to "study". OF COURSE HE WON'T BE JUST STUDYING! I can't believe that he's finally going to my dream continent (haha sorry Asia...) and to Lisbon. The beaches there are fabulous right? He'll be able to capture our heritage (my father says I'm part portugese coz great great great grandad was one. I don't know if it's true) and experience their culture firsthand. He'll be able to meet and talk to great people, eat great foods and see great sights. The lucky guy! And the best thing about going to Portugal is the chance of roadtripping to other parts of Europe. Oh well, good luck to him then. Sad to say, I'm gonna miss that sucker too, I mean 6 months is a long time and I have no one to bother in the house. EEEPP. For the meantime, I'll just stare at these pics.

Anyway, I'm in a very download mood! Maybe it's because I just recently debated the pro side of piracy and I have been itching to catch the movies I wanted to watch but I didn't get the chance to because a) the movie wasn't distributed in the Phils b) it's a classic and I can't find a DVD anywhere, fake or not c) I really wanna watch/read/rewatch/reread it now!

So far I've downloaded a total of 6 movies! Thumbelina (aww it's a classic and I can't find it anywhere!), Amelie(really wanted to watch this, didn't get the chance last time), The Nightmare Before Christmas(another classic that I sorely miss), Into the Wild(haven't watched yet but downloaded already, really good they say), Son of Rambo(really good one too!), Mean Girls(finally watched it! and it is good as they say), Anne of Green Gables series(there's a mini series! I can't believe it!). I've even expanded my download files with comic books and mangas! Comic books are really expensive and I just didn't want to fork out that much so I download them instead. Watchmen and Fables are going into my files. Will read them when I have the time now. hehe

I've found something VERY INTERESTING courtesy of Slashfilm. Somebody actually BUILT a real hobbit house! Take a look!

Adorable isn't it? The owner apparantly is an exteme environmentalist and decided to take a step further in helping Mother Nature by actually building an eco-friendly house.

Get these cool features!
  • Fridge is cooled by air coming underground through foundations
  • Skylight in roof lets in natural feeling light
  • Solar panels for lighting, music and computing
  • Water by gravity from nearby spring
  • Compost toilet
  • Roof water collects in pond for garden etc.
The interior is absolutely beautiful. I suggest you go to this site and read more about it and view more images. Someday, I might actually consider living in a house like this. Or even for a vacation home. What do you guys think??

Well I guess this is about it. TC guys!!

Updates when I update! :cool
