Good morning,
It's time for another challenge over at Simply Stampin' and this week it's a colour challenge, normally I love colour challenges but I must admit when I read these colours out loud I thought, they are NEVER going to work together!!
I set to work and made a card, but when I got the rest of the DT cards through I realised I had used the same set as another of the team, argh! stamps set and same colours, but rather than panic I thought, no it's OK I'll just make another, so here it is
Now I have to confess, Ihave swapped the neutral from white to vanilla, and I have also been a it naughty in that as I used First Edition DSP as my background I have also used black ( the print), but I'm hoping that you and the rest of the team won't mind.
I think I may have got a little carried away but once I'd started I found it very hard to stop, I have used, Forever Young, Solid Stripe, and Just Believe for the sentiment, as well as ribbon, brads, pearls, I really think everything I have is on this card.
I hope you like it and I will share my original with you later in the week.
If like me you were a little scared of the colours, I hope you will still give it a go, can't wait to see what you come up with! Happy stamping, xx

Simply Stampin Colour Challenge
Good morning,
It's time for another challenge over at Simply Stampin' and this week it's time for a colour challenge, I hope you like these bright and cheerful colours we've chosen for you
I was asked to make a card for a little boy turning 1! So I thought that these colours would be perfect I pulled out my Fox and Friends (my 'go to' set for younger children) and got to work with the colours, what do you think?
I paired the stamps with button die-cut using the Sweet Buttons embosslits die, it's so good, looks just like buttons but without the weight!
I hope that this has inspired you to pull out these colours and see what you can do!
Happy stampin', xx

Just Can't Let Go?
Hiya,
I don't know about you but even when they retire there are just some stamp sets that I just can't part with and Loads of Love is one of them! I really love this little pick up truck, plus it's great for masculine cards too!
I took the colour combo from an old Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge, i ran a piece of Soft Suede CS through my Big Shot with the polka dots folder to echo the patterned paper I chose and paired it with some DSP from the Big Top papers.
I hope that someone brings me a pick-up full of pressies on my birthday!! xx

Simply Stampin' Heartfelt
Good morning,
wow! you certainly knew how to work those colours last week! this week is theme week and as Valentine's day is coming our way, the theme is 'heartfelt'. Head over to Simply Stampin' for this weeks inspiration from the design team, and enter your card, of course!
I have another commissioned card for you today, this gentleman is obviously a little more in touch with his feminine side than my boyfriend, as I was asked for red and lots of hearts,
Do you think I added enough hearts? I wanted to add ribbon, well if you can have a cascade of hearts then why not have ribbon, but I didn't want to go OTT, so I just tucked a little behind the sentiment.
Ok now it's your turn, I can wait to see all your 'heartfelt' creations.
Happy crafting

Simply Stampin' To Die For.
Hello again,
This week over at Simply Stampin' we are asking you to get busy with your dies and create a card or project using them. At first I was stumped, I thought of a shaped card but I have done that before so I wanted to use my dies in a way I hadn't before.
I ended up using two dies, The Daisies Die and the Two Tags die to make a card and matching mini bag. The Daisies Die is great for making flowers with great depth.
You can see the dimension a little better on this photo, to make the flower you will need to cut 3 of the larger Daisy and 3 of the smallest Daisy, I shaped the larger petals in one direction and the smaller Daisy petals in the opposite direction, and inked the edges for more interest.
I can't wait to see what you make out of your dies, so get creating! xx

Viva La Throwdown
Good evening,
I really wanted to get another of this months Viva La Verve sketches done, the end of the month is fast approaching and I still have another to get finished before Thursday!
I needed a great colour combo to go with it so headed over to Color Throwdown where they have a gorgeously girly one.

I have swapped the large tag for three small ones, and do you spy new product?? Yes the punch is a brand spanking new one, it's also great for threading ribbon threw!
Are you ready for Monday? Coz it's just around the corner, see you then. xx

Sketch and Stamp
Good evening,
I'm back with another sketch and colour challenge combo. The sketch is taken from a new challenge I've found called Sketch and Stamp, as you may have guessed they ask that you follow the sketch and use stamping, either traditional or digital within the design.
The colour combo I have used is this weeks challenge over at the Play Date Cafe, I wasn't sure if I could pull off the bright blue with the other colours, but I don't think I've done to badly with it.
Once again I have used the Garden Whimsy set from my card, I have used a sponge dauber to get the two toned effect on my butterfly and to colour the tulips. The colours I have used are Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise and So Saffron.
I have swapped the scallop circle element of the sketch for the popped up butterfly, which fits in perfectly for this weeks Simply Stampin' challenge which this week is Flutterby Butterfly, I'd also like to thank for ladies for naming me top 3 for last weeks challenge!
Hope you'll pop back and see me again sometime, xx

The Cherry On Top
Good morning,
I'm back with another challenge combo.
Sometimes I know exactly what I want to do when I see a challenge set out before me, other times I sit at my desk and wonder what to do. This was one of whose times, I sat there staring at my stamp sets with out a clue what to do, only knowing that I wanted to enter another card into the Shabby Tearoom challenge of polka dots. I flipped through my Brights DSP stack I decided to use Real Red polka dots, and then it came to me in a flash, my Tart and Tangy stamps, the cherries would be a perfect match to the red paper I had chosen. That meant that I would have to use green as a second colour for the stalks and a neutral so I went for Choc Chip.
I wanted to play along with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch which I have adapted a little
I don't have a photo corner punch yet, so I decided to do a little distressing in the corner, and place another DSP this time Pear Pizazz In-colour paper behind, I also co-ordinated this with a layer on the front.
Right at the end I decided to add buttons for the cherries, I'm really quite pleased with this one.
See you again soon, I hope, xx

Paper Players and Shabby Tearoom Challenge Card
Good evening all,
What a day, my cat is poorly again! This time he has a dental abscess, which means a very swollen lip, and a thoroughly fed up puss. The poor little man doesn't know what to do with himself. He's struggling to eat and drink, as a result he has no energy and coupled with a very high temperature his joints are sore so he can't jump or co-ordinate himself properly. So we have more antibiotics and painkillers, which he will also not be happy about.
Anyway back to happier things, I'm always on the look out for new challenge blogs and I found this one last week, it's called The Paper Players. This weeks challenge is a colour combo of triple pinks.
I was a little worried about this combo until I got the colours out of my stash, they look really pretty together, here is the very feminine card that I have come up with.
I am also entering this card into another new challenge I'm found called The Shabby Tea Room whose theme this week is polka dots, I love polka dots so I can see me entering this one more than once!
Hopefully the rest of the week will be less eventful than today, xx

Saturday's Simply Stampin' Entry
Happy weekend everyone,
I hope you are doing very enjoyable things this weekend. I am very excited because, as you know I like to enter different challenges and I have been awarded top 3 at Simply Stampin' for my entry last week. If you are anything like me you enter and never expect to win so it's so lovely to be chosen!
This week the challenge is a colour combo, and I think a particularly difficult one, as it includes pink and blue. Here are the colours.
see what I mean, tricky.
I had a ponder and came up with this
I LOVE owls, and this little guy is so cute that I had a dress him up, in a Pacific Point outfit. I'm still not sure that this colour combo works so well in these proportions, but I had fun making it.
Why not join in with the challenge yourself? xx

Play Date and Sweet Sunday Combo
Good afternoon,
Not content with one post today I'm here with another!
This card is a combination of two challenges the Play Date Cafe challenge, which is a challenge all about colour, this week we have a very girly colour combo, of Coral, Petal Pink and Antique Gold.
So I sifted through my Colour Coach to find colours like these and came up with Tango Tangerine, Blushing Bride, ad So Saffron (I don't have any gold so I went for a golden yellow shade)
The second of the challenges I have used for my card is a sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge, I really like the sketches from this challenge site. They are normally quite simple so that you can take them wherever you'd like, here is this weeks sketch.

I really liked the photographs used for the Play Date colour story and was inspired by the dress to use my Sew Lovely stamp set. What do you think?
I used the eyelet border punch for the strips to carry on the fabric theme, I think they look a little like fabric strips.I kept my promise and used several pieces of DSP in this card.
Well that's all from me for today, see you later in the week with some more offerings, xx

First party night nerves
Good afternoon!!
Yesterday I held my first real Stampin' up! party, I was incredibly nervous, but luckily it was with my friends as guests, and they were very kind to me.
I planned two make and takes, a side stepper card, and a bookmark, both using (you guessed it) products from the mini.
The side stepper card used the Sew lovely set, I love this set even though I'm not a sewer, I think the dress makers form is fab, and I love the bright colours of the co-ordinating paper pack.
The bookmark uses the elegance wheel, and Beautiful wings embosslit, this little guy is definitely my favourite item in the whole of the catalogue!!
Here are some close ups
Here's a side view

There are highlights of dazzling diamonds glitter down the wheeled section, don't think they are visible in this picture, but trust me they are beautifully sparkly.

Less is More sketch challenge
Good Afternoon everyone!
Last week I participated in the Less is More blog challenge, I really enjoyed doing something a little different to my usual style, so I popped over this morning to have a look at this weeks challenge, it's a sketch!
I love sketches, and recently bought a book of card sketches for when inspiration runs away from me and leaves me needing help, so this is a great challenge for me.
I had a few ideas so don't be surprised if you see more than one card for this challenge.
If you'd like to join in the challenge, or have a look at all the other wonderful entries please pop over there, just click on this link.
So here is my card
In the challenge we were asked to use DL cards, which definitely left more 'white space' which is a good thing over at 'Less is More'.
This stamp is from the Crazy for Cupcakes set, I never really took much notice of this lovely little balloon, well when there's a cupcake around who takes much notice of anything else?!
I also added glitter to the balloons, here's a close up, I hope that isn't breaking any rules of the challenge.
Here's the recipe
Stamps Crazy for cupcakes, Curly Cute (sentiment)
Paper, Brights DSP stack, Real Red CS, Daffodil delight CS, Pumpkin pie CS, Whisper white CS
Ink, Staz on, chocolate chip
Accessories, Marina mist satin ribbon, white gel pen, scallop circle punch, stamp-a-ma-jig, 2-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter.
Hope you like my second attempt at 'less is more', I'd love to know what you think, so please leave a comment if you'd like.
