LE ROSSIGNOL DU JAPON N'EST PAS UN ROSSIGNOL-PEKIN ROBIN
Le rossignol du Japon - Leiothrix lutea - n'est ni un rossignol ni japonais.
Il appartient à la famille des Leiothrichidae qui ne comprend que 2 espèces :
- Le Léiothrix jaune -Leiothrix lutea -
- Le Léiothrix à joues argent - Leiothrix argentauris
Le rossignol du Japon ou Léiothrix jaune est originaire de Chine (et non du Japon).
5 sous-espèces son reconnues :
- Leiothrix lutea lutea (sud, centre et est de la Chine)
- Leiothrix lutea kumaiensis (nord ouest de l'Himalaya)
- Leiothrix lutea calipyga (du centre de l'Himalaya au nord ouest de la Birmanie)
- Leiothrix lutea yunnanensis (du nord est de la Birmanie au Sud de la Chine)
- Leiothrix lutea kwangtungensis (du sud est de la China au nord Vietnam)
En France, environ 1000 couples ont fait souche dans le sud-ouest du pays. On peut donc en voir à l'état sauvage dans les Pyrénées, le Tarn par exemple.
ENGLISH VERSION
The Red-billed Leiothrix - Leiothrix lutea - is neither a nightingale nor Japanese.
It belongs to the family of Leiothrichidae which includes only 2 species:
- The Red-billed Leiothrix - Leiothrix lutea -
- The Silver-eared Mesia - Leiothrix argentauris
The Red-billed Leiothrix or Pekin Robin is native to China (not Japan).
5 subspecies are recognized:
Leiothrix lutea lutea (south, central and east of China)
Leiothrix lutea kumaiensis (northwest Himalayas)
Leiothrix lutea calipyga (from the central Himalayas to north-west Burma)
Leiothrix lutea yunnanensis (from north-east Burma to south China)
Leiothrix lutea kwangtungensis (from south east China to north Vietnam)
In France, about 1000 couples have made up in the south-west of the country. We can see them in the wild in the Pyrenees, the Tarn for example.
