Lil Witches Halloween card 2 - Whimsy Stamps

Greetings friends!  I posted a Halloween card a few days ago and I am now posting a second card that I made with Whimsy Stamps pre-colored Quick Card Fronts called "Lil Witches".  This second card has the same design but, this time, I used another cute image and inked the edges of the frame with purple instead of aqua.  You can use these fabulous Quick Card Fronts as they are, or you can embellish them.

As before, I used a frame die and inked the edges with distress ink.  Next, I gently inked the edges with black ink to create a spattered effect.  The frame and the sentiment are matted on glitter paper.

That's all from me for this post.  Take care, Lori xx

Lil Witches Halloween card 1 - Whimsy Stamps

Greetings friends!  Halloween always evokes some special and cherished memories for me of when my kids were little and we went Trick-or-Treating.  They are adults now but that doesn't stop me from making a Halloween card for them. LOL

I decided to use an adorable pre-colored image by Whimsy Stamps called "Lil Witches" Quick Card Fronts.  There are quite a number of these fabulous quick card fronts that are available.  All you have to do is to embellish them, or just use them as they are.

I used a frame die and inked the edges with distress ink.  Then, I gently inked the sides with black ink to create a spattered effect.  I matted the frame and sentiment with black glitter paper.

That's all from me today.  Have a lovely weekend.  Lori xx

Flapper Twirl by Lemon Shortbread Digital Stamps

Hello friends!  A new challenge started yesterday on the Lemon Shortbread Challenge Blog.
For my DT inspirational card, I chose the gorgeous "Flapper Twirl" image, found here:

As we all know, flappers emerged in the U.S. in the 1920's.  They were known for their unconventional behaviour and style, and were a sign of changing times.  These ladies sure had a lot of style!

This beautiful image was coloured with Copics and Polychromos.  I made the art deco frame with a free clip art image from the Internet and added pieces of the "Oriental Frame and Motifs" dies at the top.  The gray flower is handmade, as is the hat pin.

I wish you a lovely day.  Hugs, Lori xx

Materials and Tools Used

Frame:        Free clip art from the Internet and Frantic Stamper "Oriental Frame and Motifs" dies
Corners:     The Paper Studio "Silver Classic Photo Corners"
Flowers:     I Am Roses (blue), EK Success "Retro" punch (gray) and Recollections (small gray)
Sentiment:  QuickKutz "Phoebe" alphabet dies
Branches:   Tim Holtz "Juniper" punch

Scarlet Holly

Good morning to you!  It is such a beautiful and sunny day.  I had the pleasure of seeing a lovely cardinal outside my window earlier today.  We already had our first snow last Friday.  How exciting!  It's my turn to showcase my 2nd DT inspirational card which I created for Ching-Chou Kuik's November Facebook Challenge.  The theme is "Christmas".

Holly Fairy

Hi everybody!

The weather here has been so miserable.  It either rains or it's dark and dreary.  Add the loss of Daylight Savings Time to that and it seems to be dark 24/7.  I'm not sure I know what the sun looks like anymore!  On a brighter note, here is my DT card which I made for Ching-Chou Kuik's current Monthly Facebook Challenge.
This fabulous image is "Holly Fairy" and is found here (along with 3 other beautiful images):

I have coloured her with Copic markers and FC Polychromos pencils.  Her wings are glittered.  The green border was made with Heartfelt Creations' "Delicate Border Basics" die.  The poinsettia was made with the "Tattered Poinsettia" die by Tim Holtz. The pretty leaves are from Heartfelt Creations' "Large Sparkling Poinsettia" stamp.  I fussy cut the leaves.  I love to make my own pinwheel bows.  If anyone is interested in learning how to make them, check out this tutorial:
Ribbon, beads and berries are from my stash.

Have a happy day!  Lori P xx
