Look at the difference between my photo boxes...

Heya!  I'm here today with my DT make using another cute Whimsie Doodle digis!  Here is a card I made for a teenage guy...

He is so fab!  this is Skater Jayson - I just love his jeans and T-shirt!  I matched him up with Echo Park Note To Self papers and a Paper Smooches sentiment.  I thought I'd also show you how my new light box (see post here) compares to my old fabric light box.  So obviously the cards above use my new one, here is the one using my old one...

So I still think the old one looks great (compared to not using a light box at all!) but the new one definitely gives my photos a cleaner, sharper look and you can see the embossing much better too.  Overall, VERY happy with my new light box!  I'm gonna go give that husband of mine another kiss for buying it for me...

To wine or not to wine

The new fortnightly challenge has opened over at Anything But A Card and for my DT make today, I have made a wine bottle tag, inspired by this gorgeous one here made by my good buddy and very talented Shannon of Enchanted Ladybug Creations...

This is going to a neighbour to celebrate the New Year in and I think I'll go and help her! I used one of the There She goes Cattitude set and Numbered Days.  I used the Lil' Inker Designs Mini Bow Tie die (I LOVE this - the stitching is so cool!) and the papers are from the Echo Park Yours Truly collection.  I am entering this into the TSG challenge for their theme of Season of Giving. I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp challenge to use your fave - this Cattitude is definitely one of my most fave stamp sets!

I hope you can play along with us this fortnight - you can get more non-card inspiration over at the challenge blog here!

Little Miss Muffet new release!

There's a new Little Miss Muffet release of the gorgeous The Isles of Aldmer range.  Here is my DT make using Lightning and Silverstar...

Isn't this image just gorgeous?!  This is such a dreamy romantic couple, I am going to send her to my reently engaged friend who is a bit of a hippie (she describes herself like that!!) - I know she will love this!  If you take a closer look, you can see the rings on their horns...

They were so dreamy to colour in too - for the hair I used mainly Copic C greys, but also a touch of YG93 too.  I matched them up with BasicGrey Origins papers and My Favorite Things Die-Namics Sentiments Strips die, Vine Border, Wonky Scallop border die and Rolled Daisy die. I used this week's Sketch Saturday...errr...sketch!

Okay, that is it from me - you can check out more The Isles of Aldmer gorgossity over on the blog here!

Thanks sweetie!

Oh, we had a bit of a hair raising day yesterday.  We had severe flooding and we got kicked off the train on my way home from work - nowhere near what I live!  My poor husband had to drive to pick me up  through the treacherous rain and then drive me back through it, navigating through our narrow country lanes.  Whew, we eventually got home after midnight, but at least we got home!

Anyhoo, I'm here because there's a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet and this fortnight the theme is circles - my favourite type of shaped card!  So here is my DT make using sweet Chives...

I matched her up with My Minds Eye Miss Caroline All Dolled Up papers and I used the sweet flowers from the CC Cutters Branch and Petals die.  The sentiment is from the Lil' Inker Designs 2 Cute Ink Artic Friends set (love that font!).

ATS Design Team Make it Monday - ruffle ribbon border

Hi everyone!  A very happy Monday to you.  Thanks for all your sweet wishes for the family BBQ we hosted for my dad's 70th birthday yesterday.  It went very well and the weather held out and only had a little drizzle.  I have now eaten enough for 3 days so please don't speak to me about food!

Anyway, I am here today with my All That Scraps DT Make It Monday post.  I have a short tute on how I make my ruffle ribbon borders.  First, here is my card (so you know what I'm talking about!) using newbie Sugarplums Cupcake Emma and sentiment from the AmyR Sweet Sentiments set..

And this is how I do it.  First, I get some double sided tape and tear off a little more than I need for the length.  I then turn it so the sticky side is up and tape down the ends with masking tape to keep it in place...

Then I begin to stick down the ribbon, creating the ruffles as I go...

I use my other fingers to hold down the ruffles I'm creating as I go along...

Et voila, this is the full length...

I then carefully pick up the ribbon and remove the masking tape from each end.  Then I carefully remove the covering from the back of the tape...

Finally, I stick it down where I want to place it, taking the ends round the back of the cardstock for a neat finish.  And that is it!

I hope you have a go - it is so quick and easy to do and gives a more interesting look!

MilkCoffee monthly colour challenge reminder!

There's still time to join in with this month's MilkCoffee Stamps colour challenge.  Here is my reminder for it using the gorgeous freebie ballerina...

You can use any of the other MilkCofeee cuties in the store or why not try one of their freebies?  You can find them via this link.  You don't even need to link up a completed project, just something coloured in using one or more of the colours in this inspirational photo...

Right, I'm off but I'll be back later with my All That Scraps preview post!

Inky Impressions guest designer!

I'm doing a guest designer spot for Inky Impressions for July and August - what a treat to be working with new goodies!!  And to kick off, they have a new challenge with the theme of 'fireworks and bling' so I went for the bling!

Isn't she beautiful?  This is Angelica the Bride and I went over the top with my Viva Decor white pearl pen and then sprinkled with lots of Glamour Dust all over her dress and head dress.  Here's a closer look...

I loved colouring in the folds in her dress and do you see that pretty charm?  I don't normally use these but these are gorgeous!  This one is called Daisy Swirl Heart and think it matches beautifully with the white organza ribbon.

Crafty Sentiments new release!

I have the pleasure of doing a little guest designer spot on Crafty Sentiments to help them show case their new release during their 10 days of previews!  I am little late in posting this cos my internet is still playing up, kicking me out, not uploading - sigh, it's a pain!!

Anyhoo, today we are showing Sammy Thank You and here is my take on him...

What a cutie, huh?!  And it feels great getting starting on my Christmas cards too!  Here is a preview of the other cuties on their way.  The stamps will be available in store on 11 July - so not too long too wait!

Right, better go before I lose connection again!  Hope to be around to see you all later!

A new MilkCoffee colour challenge and a FREEBIE!

Love colour challenges?  Then you're gonna love the MilkCoffee Stamps new monthly colour challenge!  We wanna see your colouring skills and you don't even have to show us a completed project - just something coloured in!  But for this challenge you MUST use a MilkCoffee Stamps digi - and we're giving you a gorgeous freebie ballerina to use if you don't yet own any MilkCoffee Stamps yet - how cool is that?!  Of course, there are plenty of other cuties I'm sure you'll love in the store and you can use any of their freebies too!  You can find them via this link.

So without further ado, here is the colour inspiration - you don't need to use all of the colours, just be inspired with whatever colours you like in it...

And here is my take on it using sweet Charlotte with flowers and bird...

I hope you can join in!  A random winner will win 3 MilkCoffee digis of their choice!  You can check out all the deets here and also see a little tute I put together to show you how to colour folds in clothing that I hope you'll find useful.

Right, I'm off to do some more decorating (groan) and will be around to visit you all later!

Button it up!

Hi everyone!  I'm so sorry I haven't been around to see you all still - my internet is STILL playing up!  The engineer told us that "something-I-don't-know-what-but-is-made-of-metal" overheated and melted over in the exchange box (whatever that is?!!)!   He said he fixed it but we're still experiencing intermittent issues!  Hey ho....bloomin' hot UK weather...

But I've managed to get on to share my showcase MilkCoffee Stamps card!  Fingers crossed....  This week over at the MilkCoffee Stamps blog, we are showcasing one of our more recent newbies to the family - the very sweet Lisbeth with buttons!  And here is my make using Lisbeth Walks In The Rain...

Lisbeth must be a pixie or that is one MEGA HUGE leaf!!  Such a sweet image and a pleasure to colour in what with all those folds and shaded areas!  I matched her up with gorgeous digi papers from Cupcake Cards and Crafts called Adorable (and they really are!) and a delicate organza ribbon.

You can see more lovely Celine inspiration over at the MilkCoffee Stamps blog and you still have time to join in with the current fortnightly buttons and bling MilkCoffee challenge - hope you can join in for a chance to win your very own MilkCoffee gorgeous digis!!

Right, this post seems to have saved okay - better go so I don't tempt fate and the internet fails me again!  Back later with my Little Miss Muffet DT post!

Picture perfect!

I have been trying for months to enter the My Favorite Things guest designer contest but I always seem to be making just DT cards!  So determined to do it this month, here is my card for it...

It was really hard to make this card - not because I wasn't inspired, but because I didn't realise how much MFT goodies I own- I just couldn't decide what to use!!  And I did feel a bit of performance pressure - I would love to be chosen as a guest designer - the MFT design team are all so talented so what a coop it would be to be on the same team as them - albeit just a month!!

So, about the card I am entering - I used the a la modes Picture Perfect stamp set, Die-namics Pretty Posies, Die-namics Prima Donna Petals (the flower stamen), Die-namics Upsy-Daisy (the leaves),
Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and my fabby newest buy Die-namics Chevron Stripes (these are SUPER cool!).  And of course I used the sketch they provided us!

Well, keep your fingers crossed for me!  Thanks for visiting me and I'll see you on my blog rounds later!
