Did you know my mom is shrinking? Xavier asked my mom when she was visiting. I think he had visions of the Incredible Shrinking Woman . He went on to explain that I’d gotten too small for my clothes. I can assure you that I was not sprayed with toxic goop that made me shrink (one could only wish).

However, I am pleased to say that I have lost 35 pounds, and am currently only about 5 pound above my goal. So, that working out thing (along with the even bigger watching my caloric intake thing) is working out pretty well.

I finally had to suck it up and buy new clothes last week; I was so thrilled to find I was in size 8 jeans! Whohoooo, that’s down three sizes. On a far less exciting note (sorry guys who read my blog for this bit of information) I lost a similar size amount in the mammary gland department. Oh well - easy come, easy go.

Anyway, so I treated myself to a cute and kicky knit skirt yesterday at Old Navy. Then, in one of my more brilliant moments, while sitting down outside today during lunch, I stepped on the hem and pulled it down when I stood up. Oh so elegant!

I continue to watch my calories – and I’m pretty resigned to the fact this will be a life long thing. I continue to walk with Eddie. And, I’ve started doing Pilates again to get toned.

A huge thanks to Dawn , Laura, and Susan who provided a lot of support and encouragement along the way. And, most importantly, to Alana who told me all about the calorie intake formula (and crunched numbers for me), and was a great cheerleader.

Two quick corrections

1) I mis-remembered. While there were four home runs in the Sunday Mariners' game, the use of a pink bat did not guarantee one. My apologies.

2) The term for the Roman Catholic belief that the Liturgy should be done in Greek, Latin, or Hebrew, according to the book I linked, was trilingualism.

Thanks!

Monday Musings

Did your favorite baseball player use a pink bat yesterday?
What a great Mother’s Day gift, watching the men of baseball proudly wear and use pink in support of Breast Cancer research. And, as an added bonus, each of the four Mariners who used a pink bat hit a home run in the game. Eddie and I were laughing that given the superstitious nature of baseball players we could be seeing these bats all season. And, what a triple play by the White Sox. Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing and wonderful mom, who just happens to be a Breast Cancer Survivor herself.

By popular demand, photos of Holy Trinity Chapel
Our priest is very aware that this is the Spiritual home of many of our cradle Orthodox, and services are held in the Chapel about once a month. We’ll be there for the Altar Feast Day of Pentecost, along with the annual BBQ (if you want more information so you can come, let me know). We also hold Theophany there, as well as any adult baptisms in the creek behind the town.

Hey, it’s a photo of Alicia and me from our meeting –thank you for taking it on your Palm and emailing it to me, Alicia!

At our monthly scrapping meeting, I did an entire 6x6 album of our trip to Disneyland last year – I can get into this quick and easy album thing. I used as a basis the pages I did at a CK Class from the Bellevue Expo. Very cool! And, we had a CTMH party beforehand, so I can’t wait to get my goodies.

And lastly, I am very excited that the division between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Church Outside of Russia seems to be on the way to being healed. Amen!

Happy Monday! We are having record breaking heat, so if you are too, get out and enjoy the sun
