Evidence of Spring

Throughout the day, my inner voice whispered.... take a walk, look for morels. They were beckoning.

I wandered the places where in past years I found one here, one there..... nope. Then a wee village of morels appeared before me. Imagine my delight. Just enough to add a kiss to dinner.

Did I hear them calling, absolutely. Did I also know that the earth has finally warmed to a temperature that they like to fruit and that spring is their season, yes to this also.

Does this all feel like magic, indeed it is. The magic of listening with heart and spirit, no different than listening to a friend tell their tale.

Instincts and intuition enrich life in an intimate way.

Listen to and honor your inner whispers.

Spring flowers are bringing heartfelt joy,

the lovely pasque:

Sweet yellow bells:

Always an awe filled delight to see the Great gray owl:

We love our trilliums, I love how there is a light area where the stem of the flower rises from the leaves, it catches my eye:

Spring is more obvious daily

inspiring hope, delight and awe.

I hope this finds you enjoying the details of new life as I am.

Lovely spring to you!

Glimpses of Early Spring, NW Montana

I have gotten to see the great gray owls a few times
one day there were two together!
(one hunting and one in a nearby tree)

the tiny world of lichen
looks big with my macro lens

Spring Beauties.....
an early spring flower

a tiny pool where fairies bathe:

found a few yellowbells on a cloudy day:

extra petals on this buttercup:

Last summer into autumn, someone made lacy pattern on all the alder tree's leaves.
The other day I found these tiny iridescent blue beetles on the wheelbarrow handles.
Looking them up, I found their larvae eat alder leaves.
Alder flea beetles:

spring is a fun time to explore
the tiny beginnings of new and continued life

Blessed Equinox to You!

as the sun nearly kissed the evening horizon
i saw it perched
listening into the shoulder high grass meadow
waiting on dinner

(30 seconds)

the seasons changed quite fast
one day
after months of hot days
the air was more refined, the heat gone, night's even colder
the colors have begun

we are off to a colorful beginning to a new season!

Kokanee salmon spawn up the creeks now
so many fish this year:

swimming/spawning:

(13 seconds)

sometimes it rains
and
cottonwood seed wool captures the drops beautifully:

such an amazing season
these skies
these colors

Lovely Equinox to you
be it Autumn or Spring
Blessed Mabon
~
Though today is officially autumn
it has been feeling like and looking like autumn
for weeks now.

Owl Visit

The sound of squirrels warning the forest of danger.

I looked up to see a Great Gray Owl glide over the pond to land on a stump.

Sitting, looking around then hopped to the ground.

Ripples danced through the ponds surface as the owl took a morning bath in shallow water.

Then hopped back up on the stump, shaking this way and that.

Lifting into the air, silently landing on a limb.

Watch the video as it shakes and dries from it's bath. Then breaks a branch that is in it's way. In the smoky morning air (see golden smoky light on it's back).

I got to sit and watch for 45 min. As this owl was in no rush to leave.

it knew I was there
but
did not seem to care

flying further away
down to the earth near a creek
for a drink
~
It is super smoky these days
so many wildfires
the owl was a wonderful experience
among our hard to breath days

 a glimpse:

and

I am hearing that the fires will not be out
until
the snow falls

Autumn is Dancing with Summer

watery eye candy

the spirit of autumn breathed on a summer leaf and look what happened

music to my ears and eyes

a couple weeks ago.... just a tinge of gold in the woodland

another glimpse of Many Glacier

a visitor at my pond

along a tiny brook
high mountain flowers

traveled over the mountains
a long dirt road
and
came upon a black bear

~
a bit of this
a bit of that
summer leans into autumn

Montana Spring

Color
the world is dressed in color

and light

color and magical light

I wish I could photograph the scents of the forest for you:
thick, sweet, spirit altering
mix of
trees flowers earth

some plants are fruiting
some are just beginning to rise through the earth

I sat close to this owl at sunset the other night
until it spotted it's meal and dove into the grassy meadow

this scene is So Montana!

Great Gray Owl

the light of the setting sun
beckoned

then presented
the glorious great gray

who was hunting

and silently swooped to the earth

capturing dinner
flew to another area

to hunt some more

how wonderful
the owl let me photograph it
take to heart it's artful ways
of
being
an owl
in the setting suns light

Great Grey Owl for Halloween

walking through the woods
feeling the soft give to the forest floor
even though it snowed 4 inches last night

looked up to watch snow plopping from trees above

there you were
a great grey owl
looking into my eyes

a calm majestic being
sitting at the meadow's edge
listening

watching
waiting

so perfect for Halloween
and
Samhain

lovely celebrations to one and all
