Evidence of Spring

Throughout the day, my inner voice whispered.... take a walk, look for morels. They were beckoning.

I wandered the places where in past years I found one here, one there..... nope. Then a wee village of morels appeared before me. Imagine my delight. Just enough to add a kiss to dinner.

Did I hear them calling, absolutely. Did I also know that the earth has finally warmed to a temperature that they like to fruit and that spring is their season, yes to this also.

Does this all feel like magic, indeed it is. The magic of listening with heart and spirit, no different than listening to a friend tell their tale.

Instincts and intuition enrich life in an intimate way.

Listen to and honor your inner whispers.

Spring flowers are bringing heartfelt joy,

the lovely pasque:

Sweet yellow bells:

Always an awe filled delight to see the Great gray owl:

We love our trilliums, I love how there is a light area where the stem of the flower rises from the leaves, it catches my eye:

Spring is more obvious daily

inspiring hope, delight and awe.

I hope this finds you enjoying the details of new life as I am.

Lovely spring to you!

Glimpses of Early Spring, NW Montana

I have gotten to see the great gray owls a few times
one day there were two together!
(one hunting and one in a nearby tree)

the tiny world of lichen
looks big with my macro lens

Spring Beauties.....
an early spring flower

a tiny pool where fairies bathe:

found a few yellowbells on a cloudy day:

extra petals on this buttercup:

Last summer into autumn, someone made lacy pattern on all the alder tree's leaves.
The other day I found these tiny iridescent blue beetles on the wheelbarrow handles.
Looking them up, I found their larvae eat alder leaves.
Alder flea beetles:

spring is a fun time to explore
the tiny beginnings of new and continued life

In Search of the First Wildflowers

we found our first wildflowers of the year
(by driving over an hour north)
as well as
an emerald colored native bee!

the earth had but tiny blades of grass appearing amongst
the pine needle strewn forest floor

yet the lovely pasqueflowers hold their heads high
celebrating life

here and there a
scattering of lovely yellow bells

after a long winter
these first flowers
fill ones heart with joy

a new season is ours to embrace

Celebrating our Earth

we call them Yellow Bells
they grow in prairie land

I live in the forest and mountains
so it is always a journey to see them

some have red rings around them
some do not

on my way to look for flowers
I stopped in a forest
and found this beautiful rock
I am told that copper makes these color

I have been exploring the tiny world of lichen and moss
often raindrops are involved

I noticed that teeny tiny moss had little egg shaped capsules
a new sighting:

a closer glimpse:

our amazing planet
endless intriguing life to explore
enjoy
respect
and
learn from
~

Happy Earth Day!

Spring Drive, Flathead Lake Montana

to behold a tree in nature
is a joy indeed

I drove around Flathead lake yesterday
it is the largest natural freshwater lake in the
western US

i found a few yellow bells sunbathing

clouds danced in the sky
cloaked mountain peaks
then would disappear
only to return in new shapes

 these flowers are so tiny
i nearly missed seeing them

the sun shone down on us
and
warmed the land
trees budding catkins

spring
is a beautiful thing

in the sage lands
(Yellow Bells, Fritillaria pudica)

a rabbit in a most unlikely place

an old abandoned car

buttercups
high in the hills

an old barn

So Montana

a herd of deer

one with antlers

curious horses

all in the Sage Lands of Montana

Sweet Spring
or
Autumn
to each of you
