Mount Rainier

You go around a corner and it's just so hard to
describe - that shazam moment
when this gigantic mountain makes it's entrance.
And the clouds kissing the mountain.
And directly opposite the mountain that's chockful of glaciers
is the alpine field.
This is Antler mountain.

And there is always water cascading down the mountain.

This mountain just appeared everywhere.
Everywhere you looked it stole the show.

Elevation Mountain High

Heading from Nevada/Arizona we took
to the Dixie National Forest  between Cedar City and
Long Valley Junction - mountains.
The beautiful snowcapped mountains.
And we're wearing shorts - summertime clothes.
and alas, we encountered real snow.
As in snowing, and sticking to the roads
and some poor person in a ditch.
It was really pretty and a bit dicey
as Tom never drove the rig in snow before.
This was also happening on the second day of MAY.
We also changed time zones again.
 And here is the depth....
We made it safely down the mountain.
And now we know - the rig is alright in the snow.
However, we did breathe a bit easier when we reached the bottom
and there was no more snow.

Forgot to add a title

Titles are important - if they're good they draw the reader into your page.
For some reason I didn't title this page
and as of this minute my mind is blank so I'm
gonna just roll with that because...
well, the photos are pretty obvious and I kind of like
it without a title being that in the
design especially as there's not a lot of room leftover for one.

Trying to use up my Basic Grey stash - and there is
a ton as well as a bunch of PL cards.
That swirly thing and splat are from my new
Tim Holtz die cuts - love them and as promised I'm
using them a lot.

I'd ask for a title but I have sent this off.
Oooopps
But I'd love to hear what your title would be.
I can always jack it for the next snowy one LOL.

8x8 Pocket Page

Happy Friday!
I have no idea where this pocket page
came from and seems I have
only one - so far.
But I decided to give it a go.
And I really like how both turned out.
I may have to look into getting more of these.
The cards came from my "box of stuff."
Soooo....you're on your own here.
My bad.
Actually, some studio calico, kelly purkey,
paper issues swag bag.
More or less......

I've been getting my snow on

and its especially odd since I live in a subtropical area.
But the grands don't and aren't
they all having a blast outside.
I remember when I was a kid - it was fun.
Sortof.
There were times it was tough to move when
dressed like the Michelin tire man.
For some odd reason I ended up with a snowflake die
and its been getting a work out.
Fancy that.
Of course why not then have a flurry of flakes.
Flurry of flakes - say that 3x's fast :)
I flung the sequins around because I wanted them to have that flung look
with the flurry look so
I glued each and every one down.
One.by.one.
Thought of mod podge way later.
The Studio Calico word stamp that came in
last month's kit - that has also been getting a workout - its hard
to read though so basically you have to stamp around
to find the word you want.
Oh look, more flung and flurried snowflakes and sequins.
And the Shimelle stamp, I still need to learn how to use that one.
A sweet little cluster off to the side.
With some mists.
Added the February card from my Paper Issues Swag bag.
Love those little bags.
A variety of scrap paper that was laying around in my box
and I have no idea the mfg became the mats.
Another page that has snow in the title.
So now I'm going to have to find another word for snow.

Glitter fun - not!

I did whine about this on FB -  what was I thinking
about using glitter.
It totally goes everywhere but where I want it
and I'm still cleaning it up.
I also used some modeling paste to make circle/dots in order to make
the background just a tad busier.
And the glitter does add that something something, I just
need to figure out how to get it under control
if that is even possible.
I also did some stamping and used up some more stash.
I do love having those twine bows and they
appear to be a signature now.
In fact, I feel my pages look weird if I don't have twine on it.
You love twine?
And then I did something different for me
at this point in time (meaning I have done this in the past-
remember deckle scissors?? - to disasterously ugly results that
will never ever see the light day)
I cut out a photo.
Yes I did.
And it worked perfectly - Owen is flying off the page.
Actually they both are flying off the page.
It was fun to do and easy to whack - not a bunch if itty bitty things going on
to turn it into a "fussy cut".

And the title - couldn't be helped.

Basic Grey, Studio Calico, Paper Issues Swag Bag.
I love those Evalicious circle arrows
and my homemade enamel dots (are you over them yet?) LOL.
And glitter :|

Sequins and Snowflakes

Yes indeed.
I don't get much call for snowflakes in Florida so
its fun to roll with it and finally use my snowflake die cut.
The photos cracked me up right away.
Back to the page - I tried to stamp dots in a circle with white ink.
NO go.
I then tried same stamp with acrylic paint.
Still NO go.
I even put glitter on the ink/paint stamped images.
Way NO go.
:|
I therefore broke out the modeling paste and a negative of the snowflake.
Wa-la - GO go.
Because snowflakes and glitter wasn't enough.
SEQUINS.
Scattered about. However, by the time you get to
gluing and your fingers are all sticky
it doesn't look scattered anymore.

But put it all together and shazam.
Winter page.
All basic grey, except for some cosmo cricket and bo bunny.

She totally cracks me up.
Loves her veggies.
Poor snowman's nose is nipped.

Stamping fun!

I have stamps.
Way too many actually for the lack of use they get.
I do love stamps.
They're versatile, reusable, and just plain cool.
In doing this page I felt it needed "something."
So I added the little heart/arrow stamp.
And then I decided it needed another.
So I broke out the arrow stamp.
And then of course what's a page without a date/year.

Of course in waiting to stamp, I run into lumps and tight spaces
that if I had thought ahead of time, it might have been
a bit smoother.
Where's the fun in that?
I used versifine on the patterned paper
and stazon for
the labels and photo since they have that slick surface
going on.

All Studio Calico except the Dream street paper (the doily) and twine.

I find snow pages interesting.

Continuing in the snow theme

because I think its cool - no pun intended - though
I live in Florida and am slightly baffled that
people actually live in snow.
Although I'm a PA girl I've been in Florida a long time.

I love this photo, Cavin's face.
Determined.
The unknown rider that I think is Quintin
because of the clothes.
And it was a lot of snow.
I have photos of that too and they're coming soon.

Studio Calico and Simple Stories layered.
I love layers.
Couldn't help the snowflakes.
And hearts.
And its colorful.
