and the winner is.......

..... Sheri!

Congrats Sheri, you're the winner of my give-away!

Blogger Sheri said...

I think it is a great idea. In fact, I have often thought about how to run a "rent a stamp" store somewhere. Sometimes you buy a stamp and only can use it a very few times as it is specific, like Christmas card stamps. Once you have made them, you want to make something different the next year and then this years stamp sits and gathers dust. However, someone else could use it and pass it down from there.
I'll be contacting you shortly, Sheri!

I want to thank everyone for playing along.
I will be giving gently used stamps in my future give away's :)
I'm hoping to do these give away's more often, maybe in a few days, stay tuned!

Art Journal & my anniversary give-away

Happy Tuesday!
I've got something to show you today that is totally different than my normal paper crafting.
I'm taking Tim's Creative Chemistry 101 online class and I have learned so much about the different Ranger inks and all the ways to use them.
I've also been watching Dyan Reaveley's videos from CHA on YouTube, I love her style of art! I was amazed by her art journals, just gorgeous! I was on a mission Saturday, going to flea markets looking for an old journal.and I found a small one with black suede covers, perfect! I spent most of the day Sunday trying my hand at a journal page, I have never been so inky in my life. One thing stuck in my head from Dyan, you never mess up, just go with it! This was really hard for me, usually everything has it's place and the ink has to be stamped perfectly, etc.

The background isdone with Ranger Distress Stains in Broken China, Spun Sugar, Sage Shadow, Peeled Paint & Fired Brick. I also used my Copic Opaque White and black & white Enamel Accents. Everything was stamped withArchival Jet Black ink. All of the stamps I used are by CraftySecrets, I used ABC Tophat for my letters, Flourishes, Mini Memories and Antique trims. SWEET Campells Soup painter girl is from a new set called All Dolled Up, Sandy said it will be available this Thursday in the store, I adore this set, it's a sweet paper doll set, ahhhh, the sweet memories of childhood! I thought she went perfect with the art journal theme!
In Tim's class he taught how to use the  Ranger inks in so many different ways. For my background, I misted the page with water and then I went to town adding my stains everywhere, I sprayed on more water, wiped off the excess and dried it with my heat tool. Then I misted some water in my hand and flicked it on the page for the water marks and dried that. All of the stamping was done after I did the background. The little girl is paper pieced with paper from my Crafty Secrets Creating with Patterns CD.
Sandy showed me a video yesterday by Diane from New Zeland. She uses Tim's ticket die and Distress inks to make the coolest embellishments, you gotta check it out.
So, what do you think? Remember, it's my very first journal page, please be gentle :)
I've really been in a stamping slump lately, I feel so into it now with a new way of creating for me. Tim's Creative Chemistry 101 class and Dyan Reaveley work have opened a new door for me, I'm pretty darned excited about it!
I'm waiting on a HUGE order from Inspiration Emporium, oodles of Dyan's goodies and the Distress Markers.
If you place an order from Inspiration Emporium don't forget to use my coupon code ieirisgarden at check out for 10% off your order.

I was going to put up this post yesterday on my 5th blogoversary, but, I had an emergency.
Terry was on his way to physical therapy and got sick, he made it to the ER in Heber Springs, I met him there and it turns out he has a kidney stone. I'm not working today, he hasn't passed it yet and he's still in pain, he's staying drugged up, poor guy.

Anyway, I'm doing a give-away for my blogoversary!
I've got 2 bottles of Glimmer Mist, 2 Crafty Secrets Image and Journal Booklets, 2 Copic markers, 3 pages of lace stickers by Crafty Secrets and a Creating with Vintage Patterns CD by Crafty Secrets.
Just leave me a comment and your contact info and I'll pick a winner  Monday April 2.

I hope you have great day, see you Monday with my give-away winner.

Crafty Secrets Downloadable Valentine Kit & a give-away

Hello friends!
Have you seen the new downloadable Crafty Secrets  Valentine Kit Sandy is offering for only $5.00? It's really cute, the vintage images are adorable! There are some sweet Valentine cards, tags, paper, a box, cupcake wrapper and much more! All you need for a Valentine party, some cute cards, anything you want to create.
I printed off some papers and a tag sheet for my card.
I used my Alterations Mini Love Struck heart die to cut the hearts. I sewed them down the side and pinched the hearts together to give them some dimension. I added some heart stick pins and May Arts ribbon.

I cut out the sweet little clown image from one of the tags and one of the coupons  from the tag sheet. I distressed everything with my blending tool and Ranger Distress Vinatge Photo ink. The little heart bling on her hat is a Martha rhinestone and the red corner rhinestones are by Kaiser.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's give-away time!
It's been awhile since I've done a give-away. Sandy sent us a couple of the new Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD's, so, it's up for grabs along with a sheet of Love Mail Creative Scraps, Altered Fairies Creative Scraps, Babyland Vintage Cuts, Baby Boy Vintage Postcard Kit and Childhood Images & Journal Notes. That's enough goodies to keep you busy for awhile!
Leave a comment on this post and I'll pick a winner next Tuesday, Feb. 7th. Please leave your contact email in your comment so I can reach you if you're the winner.
Terry had surgery on his hand today. His joint capsule was torn, the Dr. said the joint capsule holds the bones together from his wrist. He fixed that and put in a graft of some kind, not a skin graft, he said they may have to do that later after it heals. His main concern now was getting it healed. So, he'll be going back and forth to the Dr. for awhile, maybe another surgery and then there'll be physical therapy.
 He's very lucky.
Crafty Secrets Fleur de Lis album & a give-away
Hi friends! I'm home from work today taking care of Terry, he had knee surgery Monday. They went in and did some repair work so he'll be off for a few weeks. I don't know how many more westerns I can take, ugh. ;)
Today I'm showing you an altered chipboard album that Sandy carries in the store, it's the Regal album. Sandy bought out Tattered Angels albums and chipbard frames and fonts. The albums are so cool, they have a window and a heavy acetate piece you adhere to the inside of the window and acetate fleur de lis for the tabs. This album will be a flower garden journal for pictures and notes.
I've got a fun give-away too, more about that in a minute.
I covered the album and the inside dividers with paper from the Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Patterns CD. I colored some seam binding with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo & Spun Sugar ink. I used some bead trim along the paper seam with May Arts ribbon over the top of the trim. I got the trim at a thrift store, 9 yards for $4, a great buy! I love using beaded trim on my projects, it adds so much!
I went wild Vicki style :) with my Glimmer Mist on the pages, I used Sea Glass, Vintage Pink, Garden Fairy, Gingerbread and Juniper.
I decorated the tabbed dividers and this 1st page with Glimmer Misted paper doilies, paper scraps, buttons and embossed chipboard frames. I picked some images from the Birds & Botanicals Images & Journal Notes booklet.
I dabbed my finger in my ink pad and rubbed the frame, I added Ranger Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the frame, you can't see it in my pictures though :(
I stamped the edges of the inside pages with my Lacey Patterns stamp set and I used the fleur de lis from my Artsy Banner stamp set on some of the pages. I used Ranger Distress Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, Peeled Paint & Broken China ink.
I cut some mats with my Spellbinders Labels 8 die for pictures or journaling out of a vintage writing tablet.
Now, for my give-away!
There is a package of vintage trim, 2 feet of beaded trim, vintage buttons, a spool of ribbon, scalloped paper trim, a Regal chipboard album, embossed frames a bottle of Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and a Birds & Botanicals Images & Journal Notes booklet. Everything you need for a good start on a journal of your own!
Just leave me a comment and I'll pick the winner Tuesday 8-23, the day after our Crafty Secrets monthly designer challenge.
take it easy & a give-away
Happy Friday, I love Fridays, oh yeah!
I'm in such a good mood, I'm going to do a give-away!
Up for grabs is the new Creating with Vintage Patterns CD.
See the details below.
This card is made with the new Crafty Secrets Take it Easy small stamp set, you can see it here on Sandy's blog. I LOVE this sweet comfy chair, the cat & dog, and the other 5 images that go with it. I couldn't wait to upholster my chair with the Vintage Patterns CD :) doing the paper piecing technique.
I used my Spellbinders labels 8 die for the card base and pattern paper layer. The chair is on a paper doilie and sentiment is on a tiny office supply tag. The red bling is Kaiser Rhinestones.
OK, all you need to do is leave a comment on this post and I'll pick a winner for the new CD next Friday July 29th. Please leave me contact info on your post.
Blog-a-versary give-away!!
I had my 4th blog-a-versary Saturday, I can't believe I've been doing this blog thing for 4 years!
To celebrate I thought I'd do a give-away, to thank you for all your kind comments.
First I want to show you this sweet baby dress I picked up at a new flea market in Clinton.
How cute is this? There are a couple of worn spots on it, but, it's still so pretty!
The eyelet fabric is gorgeous.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I planted some catnip in a pot for Bunchie. I decided to make a plant stake out of a silver plated spoon. I've seen this done before, it's not anything new at all, but, it's new for me and I love it!

I flattened the spoon with a hammer on my metal bench block. It was so much easier to do than I thought it would be. I used my 1/8" punch stamps, stamped catnip and went over it with a black Sharpie marker, then wiped off the excess. I dyed some white seam binding with Rangers new Distress Stains in Wild Honey and Broken China, you talk about easy peasy, I LOVE the stains, you neeeed them, LOL!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here is my give away!
  • Crafty Secrets Wonderland Tea Creative Scraps
  • 2 CS Image and Journal Booklets, Summertime & Childhood
  • Our Craft Lounge Sparkly Fluff, Very Cherry Red
  • 5 spools of American Krafts ribbon
  • 3 small acrylic stamp sets
  • 2 wood block stamps
  • a bag of vintage game pieces, rick rack & buttons
  • plastic rocking horse Maya Road ribbon slides
  • Bingo cards and cardboard DMC floss holders
  • 2 Copic markers, V12 & V17
  • The spoon plant stake in the picture is not included, BUT, I will make one for you! If you're the winner you can email me what word you want on the spoon, I'll make it and include that in the package!
That's it, leave a comment and I'll pick a winner Sunday, April 3rd!
Thanks again for all of your sweet comments, I really appreciate them!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
altered pincushion rocker ~ a free stamp set ~ crafty secrets
Good Morning stampers!
I have an altered pin cushion rocker to show you today and a Crafty Secrets stamp set give-away, I'll give you the deets at the bottom of this post.
I picked up the rocker a couple of weeks ago, here's what it looked like before I altered it.
I see them from time to time and this one was little and cheap, so I got it just for the Sew Nice scraps.
I used the new Sew Nice Crafty Secrets Creative Scraps to cover the rocker. I took the seat cushion off and covered it with some vintage tatted linen I had in my stash. I used my glue gun and I've got the scares to prove it, ouch!
I made the flowers with my Martha Stewart Cosmo flower punch, I punched a bunch of Creative Scrap scraps, stapled them in the center and then I glued on the vintage buttons.
I used more vintage buttons for the pins and I added a couple of charms.
Supplies: Paper - Crafty Secrets Sew Nice Creative Scraps, green cardstock for the leaves. Acces. - pom-pom trim, vintage buttons, tatted linen, wooden spools of thread, printed twill, pins, charms. Tools - Mod Podge, Martha Stewart cosmo & leaf punches, glue gun.
I'm giving away this Crafty Secrets medium stamp set called Book Lovers plus a few other goodies to go with it! This is a super set for making book plates, bookmarks, cards and scrapbook pages.
