Crafty Secrets New Product Show Offs!

It's Crafty Secrets challenge time, and this month we are showing off the new stuff!
I decided to show off the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps. I've been having so much fun these scraps, I did some ATC's and now soldered magnets.

I made these magnets with images from the Mini Vintage Creative Scraps, it's so hard for me to pick out which ones I want to use, they're all so pretty!

Here are the supplies I used. I got this soldering kit from Ellen Hudson a few years ago, I checked and she still carries them.
I used a 12x12 ceramic tile that I got from Lowes to do the soldering on, it's a good work surface, it can take the heat of the soldering iron. I got the Memory Frames from Inspiratiaon Emporium, they have all sizes.

I traced around this glass piece on the butterfly from the back of the Creative Scraps and cut it out. I added the tiny words, Vintage Girl from the scraps.

I sandwiched the image between 2 pieces of glass and added the copper foil tape around the pieces. The foil tape is sticky, so it's easy to apply.

I used my bone folder to smooth the tape on the edges and corners, I fold the corners like I would when I'm wrapping a gift.

Next, you paint on flux all around the foil tape, it's a liquid and it's very important in the process. Then apply your solder. I've found that the less solder I use the better, I used to pile it on and it took me forever to try and smooth it out. Now, I just melt small drops of solder on the edge, lay down my solder and smooth it with the iron. Keep in mind, I'm not an expert at this, I don't do it often, I wish I had more time for it. There are SO many things you can make from soldered pieces, magnets, jewerly, embellishments, etc.
When it's cooled, you can smooth the rough edges with the nail file and polish it with a soft cloth. *see my finger nails, it's white crackle polish by OPI, not distress crackle paint Ü*
I glued magnets on the back with E6000.

I've got some more Easter Creative Scraps to share today, and, there are still images left on my sheet! Man, these sheets are jam packed full of vintage images, I've been having a blast with them! This time I made some soldered Easter ornaments. I cut my images from the sheet and soldered my ornaments added some pink ribbon and a couple of beads, done! The one on the left is a double ornament, the smaller one is hanging from the larger top one.
I learned to solder last year at Tex's house, several of us were there and when we did the soldering, there were a few choice words being said, LOL!! After the 2nd or 3rd time trying it, it's easy and fun! I think we have all gotten better at it, LOL!
Isn't this rabbit in the hat with the bird nest and eggs sweet?! It really caught my eye!
I added a couple of beads to the bottom of this one and some Prima's inside under the glass.

Supplies: Paper - Crafty Secrets Easter Creative Scraps, pink foil scrap. Acces. - pink ribbon,
beads, Prima flowers, copper tape, 2x2 & 1 1/2x1 1/2 Memory Glass pieces by Ranger, solder, flux, jump rings. Tools - soldering iron, Jewelers Extra Hands.
I hope your Monday is wonderful, remember, just 4 more days till Friday Ü

Here are some bottle caps I altered with images from the Halloween Image & Journal Notes Booklet. The images in this booklet are the sweetest vintage Halloween images, I'm so happy to be able to find all of these sweet images in one booklet!

I spray painted the bottle caps with black spray paint, punched the images & glued them in the caps. I cut some words from my old dictionary & glued them on the images along with some beads and tiny punched flowers with Stickles in the center of them. Then, I filled the caps with Glossy Accents, let them dry over night and I glued Tim Holtz pin balez and a magnet on their backs.

Supplies: Paper - Crafty Secrets Halloween Image & Journal Notes Booklet, scraps for punched flowers, vintage dictionary words. Acces. - bottle caps by Design Originals, black spray paint, circle & flower punches, copper Stickles, Tim Holtz Pin Balez, magnet, black cord, Ranger Glossy Accents, beads, E6000.

LOL!
