Crafty Secrets Fleur de Lis album & a give-away

Hi friends! I'm home from work today taking care of Terry, he had knee surgery Monday. They went in and did some repair work so he'll be off for a few weeks. I don't know how many more westerns I can take, ugh. ;)

Today I'm showing you an altered chipboard album that Sandy carries in the store, it's the Regal album. Sandy bought out Tattered Angels albums and chipbard frames and fonts. The albums are so cool, they have a window and a heavy acetate piece you adhere to the inside of the window and acetate fleur de lis for the tabs. This album will be a flower garden journal for pictures and notes.

I've got a fun give-away too, more about that in a minute.

I covered the album and the inside dividers with paper from the Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Patterns CD. I colored some seam binding with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo & Spun Sugar ink. I used some bead trim along the paper seam with May Arts ribbon over the top of the trim. I got the trim at a thrift store, 9 yards for $4, a great buy! I love using beaded trim on my projects, it adds so much!

I went wild Vicki style :) with my Glimmer Mist on the pages, I used Sea Glass, Vintage Pink, Garden Fairy, Gingerbread and Juniper.
I decorated the tabbed dividers and this 1st page with Glimmer Misted paper doilies, paper scraps, buttons and embossed chipboard frames. I picked some images from the Birds & Botanicals Images & Journal Notes booklet.

I dabbed my finger in my ink pad and rubbed the frame, I added Ranger Rock Candy Distress Stickles to the frame, you can't see it in my pictures though :(

I stamped the edges of the inside pages with my Lacey Patterns stamp set and I used the fleur de lis from my Artsy Banner stamp set on some of the pages. I used Ranger Distress Vintage Photo, Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, Peeled Paint & Broken China ink.

I cut some mats with my Spellbinders Labels 8 die for pictures or journaling out of a vintage writing tablet.

There is a package of vintage trim, 2 feet of beaded trim, vintage buttons, a spool of ribbon, scalloped paper trim, a Regal chipboard album, embossed frames a bottle of Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and a Birds & Botanicals Images & Journal Notes booklet. Everything you need for a good start on a journal of your own!

Just leave me a comment and I'll pick the winner Tuesday 8-23, the day after our Crafty Secrets monthly designer challenge.

Crafty Secrets Party Cats & GASC

Good afternoon, I hope your Monday has been a good one so far.
I have a Crafty Secrets card and a few pic's from the GASC in TX. to show you.

I made my card with the Crafty Secrets Party Cats stamp set, this is a cute set for a cat lover. I love the vintage images, and the sentiments are cute and funny!Like the one I used on my card, cute, huh?
I made the flower with sewing pattern pieces I punched out with my circle scalloped punch, I stapled them together in the center and sprayed it with Patina Glimmer Mist. I dried it with my heat tool, scrunched it up and added the rolled flower to the center.

I covered the chipboard scroll by Maya Road with Martha Stewart Yellow Gold glitter. I got the background stamp at the Stampers Anonymous booth at the GASC, I stamped it with Antique Linen Distress ink and then I stamped my cats over with Black Soot Distress ink and colored them Copic markers.

Supplies: Stamps - CS Party Cats. Paper - Webster Pages, Confetti Cream, Prism, gp white. Ink - Ranger Distress Black Soot, Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Copic markers. Acces. - sewing pattern pieces, Martha Stewart Yellow Gold Glitter, Patina Glimmer Mist, mini scroll by Maya Road, vintage lace from Vicki. Here's a pic of Joy, me and Tex. No, that's not a spot on my top, it's from the camera, really!
I had a lot of fun with my friends, I just wish it would have lasted longer!

Here is Vicki, Sandy and me. I don't have a clue what I was doing here, maybe I was laughing, trying to get taller, I dunno. See Vicki, this is the better picture of you, LOL! She was joking, saying she would only upload the better pic's of herself, LOL!

Here's Vicki doing the make n takes, I sat in for her when she needed a break or wanted to walk the floor. The booth was crammed with ladies every day, sooooo busy!

Here is Mr. Scott, Sandy's hubby. I wonder what he's doing, hmmmmm, LOL!

This is the Texas Rangers Stadium. This the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. It's farther away than it looks here. Look at the parking lot in front, see the teeny, tiny vehicles? That place is huge!
We could see both of the stadiums from the Convention Center. They are so different, the Rangers Stadium so gorgeous, architecture from long ago and the Cowboys Stadium looks like something from the Jetson's, LOL!

Hmmmmm, I wonder who these magic hands belong too? Smiley from millan.net

Material Girl ~ Crafty Secrets

I hope y'all had a Happy Mothers Day, my day is winding down and I'm thinking about the week ahead. I've been having some back pain for awhile now, several steroids and pain meds later, I had my first epidural steroid shot in my lower back somewhere around L 4 & 5.
Oh M Gee!! I knew when there was a nurse at my head and someone grabbed my feet, I was in big trouble! Yep, I was right, it hurt like you wouldn't believe. Dang, I got the shot in the hospital, you think they could knock me out! The shot cost over $2000, one shot, unreal. I have to have 2 more, ugh, thank goodness for insurance, I guess my 20% isn't too bad, pfffffft.

Ok, on to happier things like Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps!
This is a card I made with the new Material Girl set. Do you sew or no someone who sews or do you like to make little boxes and gifts? Then this IS the set for you, I adore it!
I had fun with this card, thinking about what sewing elements I could use on it. The pinking shears, tracing wheel, snaps and pieces of a sewing pattern.
I used my scalloped circle punch to make the flower, I just folded a piece of pattern and punched out the scallops. I used my tiny t!m stapler and stapled it in the center. Then I grabbed my Glimmer Mist and went to town! After I dried it I added the button.

I pleated a strip of pattern on a line of adhesive I put on the card and then I added the string of buttons. I cut out the dress form and the little card of thread and popped them up with foam dots.
Supplies: Stamps - Crafty Secrets Material Girl. Paper - vanilla, red, Cosmo Cricket Material Girl mini deck. Ink - Ranger Distress Walnut Stain, Copic markers. Acces. - snaps, pattern pieces, white string, buttons, Iridisent Gold Glimmer Mist. Tools - t!m holtz tiny attacher, tracing wheel, slit punch, word window punch, paper distresser, pinking shears, Scor-Pal.

I thought I'd share a few pictures from my back yard.

I was SO happy to see my pink peony bloom for the first time!

Love Potion frame and a give away ~ Crafty Secrets

Good Morning!
Booooo-zeeeee, it's cold here, it was 25 this morning, ouch, that hurts!
We have been lucky on the last couple of snow storms, they are going north and south of us, YAY! Although, an insured told me yesterday, that the number of foggy mornings in Aug. determines the number of snow storms in Feb., if thats true we have one to go Smiley from millan.net
I have a lot to share today, so sit back and have yourself a cup of coffee or hot cocoa.
I'm showing you another one of Vicki Chrisman's 3D die frames I just finished. You can order them from Crafty Secrets now!
I saw the cutest flowers on my friend Michele Boyer's blog that she made from a tutorial here. I changed it up a little by using sheet music instead of patterned paper and I stapled all the layers together instead of using a brad and then I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist to give them the color. I really love how they look, I used my Martha punch for the leaves.
The sentiment says "There's a wild little women in each of us", heehee.
I stamped the bottle from the Message in a Bottle stamp set with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo ink and the No 9 with Black Soot. I painted on some Glossy Accents to make it look like glass. The frame background and cut out hearts are stamped with the Cupcake Party set. I didn't see it on the Shop-a-tron site, but, you can contact Sandy about it. Her contact info is on her blog.

Look at this fun image, this image and sentiment are from the Girlfriends Image & Journal Notes booklet.

Now it's give away time!!
This is whats up for grabs, the Crafty Secrets medium Mouse Party stamp set, 2 Image & Journal Notes booklets, Childhood and Little Dolls and 6 rolls of American Crafts ribbon.

Here's my cheesecake card I made with the Mouse Party stamp set. The images in the set are so cute!
